500ISE, thank you for your work on this app. As of MCPE 0.9.4 and BL 1.7.3 the issue I was having has been fixed. I'm not a programmer, but I do know it's more difficult than just going into a menu and toggling an option on for something to work. Again, thank your work in putting this all together.

Actually, the problem I had was killing a parent animal would crash my game. That is what I think the title is referring to.

Hmmm...okay. Not sure what the changes were between .2 and .3 (this whole 0.9.x series has been rather rapid fire), and 1.7.1 was pushed out through the Play store, so I figured he had worked out a bit more than he had in the his beta builds. Guess I was wrong. But that still doesn't change the fact that I am experiencing these problems. Do I expect an immediate solution? No. Most definitely no. I was providing details where I was having problems in the hopes that it would help. But thank you for your input, Samon.

BL Pro 1.7.1, MCPE 0.9.3. BL crashes every time I try to enter or create a world with Enable ModPE Scripts support turned on. Have tried with and without a texture pack, have tried with and without any mods installed, have tried with installed mods disabled, and various combincations of those variables.

posted a message on How to play the build versions?
The builds are only (supposed to be) available for any Android users who have purchased the game through the Google Play store. Based on the steps I went through, Google evidently has a system in place that allows developers to offer pre-releases or betas to selected individuals. In this case, Mojang gave a fairly wide "invite". I would imagine that Apple and Amazon apparently do not offer such a system, hence why they are excluded from participating in the build testing. And there are currently over 27,000 people that have been accepted into the Minecraft PE Test Group on Google+, so I'm not sure where you got the number 90 from.

Well, I sort of lied. It does still shows "99+" on the ingredients side of the crafting interface.

I know most people are looking at the big changes, but sometimes it's the little things that catch my eye.
*No more "99+" quantities. I haven't tried to see what a maximum is, but I'm up over 1000 oak planks, and it's still counting.
*Saplings can be used as fuel. Probably not a big deal to most people, but gives me a use for excess saplings from tree farms.
*Auto-sorting inventory. Not sure how I feel about this. In one way, it's nice having everything that I do not have materials to craft down at the bottom out of the way. On the other hand, it's a bit disconcerting when the inventory list shifts when I'm crafting stuff.

Some of my first impressions of survival in 0.8.0 build 6.

@everyone that asks for release dates: we don't have them! We have for sure a timeline we would like to follow... but we want the freedom to say *screw that* and release weeks before or after without people complaining, if there are valid reasons.
So, unless everything is pretty much finalized (ie. coming out in 1 week or so) you won't have a deadline from us, sorreh.

Thank you for the explanation. Too bad it won't magically quiet all the date beggars :).

Whenever I deposit oak wood, the birch becomes oak, wasting it.

The furnace has always converted wood from one type to another if you aren't careful. I have used this to my advantage a couple of times. You just need to pay attention to what you are doing. Either have full stacks of what you are wanting to put in, or make sure that the only wood you have is the type you want to put in the furnace, put the other wood in a chest if you want to keep it.

posted a message on Mushroom farming suggestions
Well, the easy way is to ask someone for their design, I guess. I did some research and built my own. No mobs, and I can walk around in it easily. Built it in 0.5.0a, and haven't built one since, but here's what I found.
    1) Mushrooms grow only at light level 12 and below
    2) Hostile mobs spawn at a light level of 7 or lower
    3) Fire, lava, and glowstone have a brightness of 15, torches 14 (this is the value of the block the actual light source occupies)
    4) The light from light-emitting blocks decreases by one light-level for each meter (block) of distance from the light source. Note that this applies to each of the 3 axes including N/S, E/W, and up/down. A block diagonal on the same level from a light source decreases 2, a block diagonal on a level 1 up or 1 down decreases 3.

So, mathematically, a room with 3 blocks of air between the ceiling and the floor could have a solid ring of torches around the room on the 3rd block up and the floor space at the very bottom of the wall would be at the maximum light level mushrooms could grow at. Also, a room could have a 9x9 floor and the very middle block would have a light level of 8, if I'm doing my calculations right. I was building in a Nether Tower, so I did some modifications to this very simple design (smaller room, spacing torches out a bit more, pillar in the middle for some reason that I don't recall)

And actually, most of the information in this mushroom farming turorial on the Minecraft wiki seemed to work the same in PE. Well, at least for everything that PC and PE have in common, anyway :). I also pulled information from Mobs and Light.

I'm not sure what the reason is, but Google has been naming their Android OS versions after sweets, in alphabetical order. So no, PizzaSundae is still a way off, if it ever reaches that point.

posted a message on MCPE: Bug Tracking Thread
Found an interesting chest bug. Place one small chest over another. The second placed chest graphic turns into a large chest graphic (or half a large chest graphic if there chests are placed with a wall immediately to their west), the first chest graphic disappears. I get a large chest interface when I open it, but can only open where the chests were placed. Half of the large chest is not really there. Only seems to happen when the front of the chest is on a north-south axis. I play on Android.

posted a message on Minecraft: Pocket Edition Should Follow In It's Own Path.
MCPE is not ever going to have it's own "footsteps". Both PE and Xbox (and PS4/Vita when they get to it) will follow the path that PC has laid out before them, but modified by the limitations imposed by the system they are on. None of them will be exactly like PC, but there is a certain expectation of what Minecraft is, and too much deviation from that expectation creates something that is less Minecraft and more something else. There are already plenty of other block based sandbox games out there if you want something that has taken a different path. I think we are here because we want the Minecraft experience on a mobile device. As much of it as can be crammed into the available hardware, anyway :) .

And, in my opinion, that is neither one of your poll options.

anyone think that with infinite worlds they will add a debug menu to show coordenates?? a comand to show it would be ok

Even with the current world size, I've been wanting a way to display coordinates in game. I would expect either a toggle in the options that would turn a real time display on the GUI on and off, or a permanent static coordinate display in maybe the Game menu display. If it's going to be on screen during game play, it does need to be a toggle option, much like the PC F3 toggle.
