    Moon Gravel

This is the Moon's "dirt", the most commonly found substance the makes up most of the ground. A whiter version of gravel with a delayed reaction to gravity and a slow falling speed. Has a luminance like Netherstone. Similar in appearance to gravel. Has a low resistance to :tnt:.

    Moon Rock

A grayish rock that can be used for building stairs, etc, has a :tnt: resistance akin to :grass:.
Mined with a pickaxe at about the same speed as :cobblestone: . Appears at about the same frequency as trees in pre-update overworld - they appear in clusters and veins on the ground.

Moon Rock can also be used to craft stairs, steps, moon rock blocks, and tools with a similar strength to :wood: .

I agree with the idea of scarce NPCs that you would occasionally encounter.

Imagine walking around in an unexplored frontier with tons of exploitable resources, but not finding a single person except yourself.

Other than the "wizard and dwarf" idea, this is awesome. Maybe that's along the lines of Notch
's future NPCs that he had mentioned at one time or another.

Does it have sense? You will still need wood to create sticks, so it is...Pointless?

If you need to craft a wooden tool, stairs, etc. then it could be vital.

This is a great idea, although it would take up way too much RAM, CPU, etc to actually run a large circuit.
But if Notch can actually make it run reasonably well in Minecraft, then I'm all for it.
