Its Brilliant to see you back, Raven! I've hope you've been keeping well and the depression and the dysphoria has lessened. Rooting for ya as always, and those pictures are lovely!
It was far into the future. Remnants of society had been destroyed. There had been one , solitary piece of human culture. A badly scratched disc that held one , single file. SeptumImmoriel.exe was all that was left , dated 2047.
I feel that it IS possible to create a great map in 1.9 ; but you really need to treat it like a different game ; due to the atrocious combat. Shame , since the Elytra wings , Shulker and Lingering potions are all pretty fun. (Apologies for Double-Post.)
I'd happily try it if it was free, but I have yet to be convinced it's worth spending $5 on. Regardless of everyone's thoughts now, I think the real test of its quality will be if people are still playing it a month or two after all the launch hype has died down. If there's still an active community then of people who've been playing since the beginning and a steadily growing player-base then I'll gladly join.
Agreed completely. It really doesn't look like something I'd be interested in. And yeah , its like watching a movie trailer. For example , if I see a trailer for a new film by say , David Lynch (Somebody I admire.) , I'll take a look at it. and with SHO , it doesn't interest me. I know it's not the same thing as playing it , but just looking at it , I'm going to pass. I'm also really turned off by the idea of paying for a Minecraft server. I get that its for patrons , and by all means , Vechs deserves money for his work , but I feel like it just seems odd. I'm not a really a fan of the idea of paying for something that's user-made. I'll happily donate , but the idea of buying a mod seems... silly. IDK , just tossing in my two cents. Now , if you really like SHO , great ! But it doesn't look like it's my thing , like Undertale or FNAF.
Maybe a bit too , um... Odd , but check out The Holy Mountain ! It has some really cool set pieces , and is a hella cool movie. Same with El Topo. (Made by the same Dude , Aleandro Jowdrowsky.)
So... CQ. Vechs is creating 'Super Hostile Online.' From what I have seen , it looks interesting , to say the least. However , it looks like you'll have to pay five dollars a month to gain access. I'm not completely sure how I feel about that. For example , people like Helico , Fangride , and Sketch have spent many , many hours making maps that they have made free. It is completely Vech's decision if he wants to charge people for SHO. I think the main issues are , what will this be like for the future of CTM and if it would be worth it to actually get a subscription to his server. I'm not ragging on Vechs at all , in fact I quite like his work. I'm just curious what you guys think.
NTWIC is a trainwreck of a map. It is so hard and so un-balanced. It's meant to be a homage to classic maps but does it without the fun of something like an old vechs map or something like UT 2.

I would like to try this but the link is broken. The folder only contains a readme file, and none of the map data.

Plus the map hammers in how it plays like an original and its loaded with annoying and unfunny jokes.
