I play minecraft mostly at work because there's not much else to do between calls. Single player gets boring after so long and I was looking for a nice active server where there would always be something to do :smile.gif:

Depends on your render distance. Hold down F3 and it will tell you how many chunks are loaded out of how many CAN be loaded with that specific view distance.
The other question I have about this topic is, when using computers that are all connecting to a network (specifically, we use the physical computers in florida, but when we log in the desktops we use are hosted in Texas.) doesn't that mean it will take up bandwidth to transfer the files from where they are saved on the server in Texas (I assume, we are disallowed access to the C: drive to see if it's on the computer's physical hard drive)? If not, then there seems to be no downside to playing the in browser version here.
Water elevators would probably be the best choice. Or just put a 3 deep water pool at the bottom of your shaft and you can jump down into it. Getting back up is a whole nother story.
