Jul 16, 2012It already is. There are four public servers, but I wouldn't even bother. It's near impossible to play and survive. Food is very rare. Every town is flooded with people, there are never any chests to take supplies from due to the masses of people. Zombies are not a threat, people are, they are too common in the small map. Everybody that does have food and supplies is a bandit, and will kill anyone. It's just a fancy deathmatch.Posted in: PC Servers

170 people per server is way to much though. Especially considering how small the map is (5,000 x 5,000). You start off hungry, and mostly every place that would have a chest or food is wiped out and full of people ready to kill you for your starting items. You're likely to be killed at the spawn, considering the large amount of players. There are just way too many people, it's not even like DayZ. It's just Minecraft Hardcore with just zombies and a bunch of people thirsty for blood.
Jul 16, 2012As the title explains, I was wondering if it was possible to pre-load your world. Maybe up to a certain radius.Posted in: Requests / Ideas For Mods
What got me thinking was multiplayer. It plays much smoother than singleplayer since the host has already loaded the world, so the players who join only have to explore and render. They don't have to load the chunks themselves.
So is it possible - or maybe there is already a mod or trick to do this - to pre-load your world in a way similar to multiplayer?

I think that since it's their server they can do as they please. Some may think it's unfair, some may agree, but that's life. The only thing I can say, is that I think that they should let people donate any amount they want. If they donate just a dollar, cool. If they donate 25+ then let them play in the members server. Because, not everyone has a spare $25 at any given moment. But more people do have a few dollars to throw towards a project. I think that way they would receive more donations. That way people can still support the project, and perhaps wouldn't be so upset. And if they donate anything at all, give them a head start when it comes out, like extra water or something.
Yeah, this is a much better idea.

Price to join is ridiculous and sort of greedy. 5 dollars would certainly be enough...
Doesn't is just irk you how they put a gun to your head and force you to pay $25?
Oh wait, they don't.
The people who do pay obviously see some potential in the mod and servers and want to help support it. That's all. Nobody ever had to pay - think of it as donations.
Man, a lot of you are really thick-skulled.

This seems like a huge ripoff, if anyone pays for this that would be sad. I would pay 5 dollars at most.
Do you not see what snailzrus just explained? It's right above...
Oh my god. If anything is sad it's you.

I can bet never because they will try and milk the people who are willing to pay $25 now and make people pay to get access to the servers when the mod is released. This kind of business model for a MOD never has a nice outcome. Im sry if you wanted to play this but the creators are money milking whores, and what they are doing IS illegal. They just haven't been caught yet.
Hahaha, oh man. You have no idea what you are talking about. First of all, around mid-July it will be open. People are just paying for beta access, people don't have to. I think the mod will be released too, not sure.
Second, this isn't illegal. What they are doing is perfectly fine. They're just offering people the option to pay to get early access. There are lots of things in the world where you have to pay to get access to something. It's called being exclusive - but remember, this is only for early access for people who really want to get their hands on it first and special privileges when it's released.
Nice try though. Maybe next time kiddo.
Jul 11, 2012Audax posted a message on [MCP] Finishing a Mod - How do I get it to work with Minecraft?Alright, so I made my first mod for Minecraft with the help of MCP. Thing is, when you recompile the files, they still have their names. For example EntityZombie.java is recompiled to EntityZombie.class.Posted in: Mods Discussion
How would I go about getting it to go with the corresponding .class file in vanilla Minecraft? Like ac.class or bb.class? I want this to work without ModLoader, and where you just replace the .class files like any other mod.

You should try zombiecraft mod !

This idea is friggin awesome.just plain awesome.oh,there should also be infected dogs like hellhounds from call of duty. And mobs get infected and there are survivors and sometimes bandits.Otherwise,EPIC idea!
See, these are completely different ideas. I've specified the only changes that would be required. They're fun, but I'm just looking for something more simple. Minecraft already has survival aspects. There are multiple enemies though. I'm looking to removing those other enemies, and increasing the amount of zombies so Minecraft isn't a survival game. It's a zombie survival game. It already has the things needed for it, and in my opinion it doesn't need anything else. Just default components with the modifications I listed.
Jul 10, 2012Alright, so the modding myself didn't go as planned so I'm hoping someone who knows more about what files do what, where the variables are etc. can do this.Posted in: Requests / Ideas For Mods
Right now the only things that I think need to be change for this is:
-Zombies spawn in the daylight-Zombies do not burn in the daylight-Zombie spawn rate per chunk double, maybe even triple-Just so there is a good balance of threat and performance-Zombies can drop bones, maybe at half the rate of rotten flesh-All other enemy mobs do not spawn-Animals spawn rate per chunk cut in half, maybe even a quarter of that-Really depends, again for balance
And I think that about sums up the only changes that are needed for this. I tried to be as specific as possible and I really hope someone can make this. Once again I must put emphasis that I think these are the only changes that are needed. No more no less. Just plain turning Survival Mode into a Zombie Survival Mode. I would very much appreciate it if someone could make this.

Good idea, just adjust the spawn rates and zombie spawning and drops. I can do this I'll give you credit for the idea though. Is it ok if I make the mod??
Sure, I don't mind who makes it. I have no Java coding knowledge; even though it would most likely be just changing a few variables. You don't need to give me credit though, it's just an idea I'm requesting.

I've made the mod for you its called ZombieCraft and you dont have to install modloader
I found a bug in it so still work in progress

I can help you with the codeing message me if you are interssed
And i can like make new zombies and new food like canned food if you want
See, that's the thing though. I'm not looking for a mod that adds more things along with this. The whole idea is turning Minecraft's Survival into a Zombie Survival with only the default items and mobs.
Kind of imagine Minecraft as it is now, but instead of it's variety and everything with mobs - it's a Zombie Survival game. I'ts kind of hard to explain without being too specific. Maybe later I could map out every specific change I'm thinking of that would make this mod up.
EDIT: I'm decompiling files as we speak. This shouldn't be too hard, considering I'm just editing a few variables and such. Hopefully this will turn out as I hope.
Jul 9, 2012Posted in: Requests / Ideas For Mods
I've been thinking about this for a while, and I know there are already some mods out there like this - but those aren't what I'm looking for.
As you obviously know, Minecraft is based on survival. You start with nothing and begin your journey through the world. You have to deal with things like hunger and the enemies that come out at night. What I think would be a cool twist is turning that survival aspect into a zombie survival. Minecraft already has all the things that you would need for an open-world zombie apocalypse game, but there are some undesirable things in there that don't make it a zombie survival game.
So here are my suggestions for this mod plain and simple:
-Remove all mobs except zombies
-Keep the animals though, just decrease their spawn rate (maybe half?) -Increase Zombie spawn rate
-Just so there are lots of zombies -Allow zombies to spawn during the day
-Basically any light level -Zombies do not catch fire in daylight
-Or in any light level for the respecting matter -Zombies drop bones
-It makes sense -Same rate as rotten flesh(?)
That's all I can think of off the top of my head. The difference is that there are no gimmicks to this. There are no guns, zombies don't run fast, they aren't stronger or weaker etc.
The basic outline of this whole idea is turning Minecraft's Survival Mode into a Zombie Survival Mode. No extra things thrown in or unnecessary changes, just everything that Minecraft has and is, but a Zombie Survival.
I completed the mod myself. No need for this now.
Jul 9, 2012Audax posted a message on Zombies+ 1.2.5 - Zombify Your World! SMP Compatible!Could you make it possible for them to spawn in the day? In my opinion that would be a lot better. Spawning is based on light level; I'm sure you could edit the light level at which zombies can spawn at.Posted in: Minecraft Mods

It's sad that some of you actually complain about this. There is no problem with Minecraft being on the 360. You ***** and whine just because Minecraft is no longer going to be exclusive, this is not affecting you in any way. Sure, some of the new players will join the forums but who cares? Notch is not betraying you in any way, he isn't even behind the development for the console port, it's a set of developers he is paying. You act like that once it is released, the game will become "tainted".
I can't get over that fact that most of you are actually upset over this, it's ridiculous. Apparently you are all spoiled, and can't handle being "the cool kid that owns something everyone else doesn't."
Such a great game, but a ******** community.
