I still do not see download links where it says they should be. I tried looking at this topic on three diffrent browsers now and see NO links! >.< But with the other topics I see links. I'm so confused.
As you know I've been struggiling for months with this error. Even after installing video card drivers through ATI it wouldn't work. Well today I deleted my drivers then ran Windows Update. It seen my card needed drivers and updated them itself. Now Minecraft no longer crashes and works with Java 64!!!
Although if it wasn't the driver fix it may have been one of the Hot Fixes windows installed. Either way the game is working perfect and runs smoother then a babies behind!
Ever since the update about 2-3 months ago I haven't been able to play with Java 64. And yes I've tried everything I can think of. I even deleted my video card driver, java and minecraft and reinstaleld them all!!! The game works find on Java 32 but runs pretty slow in the jungle biomes.
If anyone is curious my pc stats are:
Win 7 (64)
AMD 9750 Quad Core (2.4 GHZ)
8GB Ram
ATI Radeon HD 4800 Series
Sound Blaster Xi-Fi Titanium
I take it they just don't care now that they are rich off of the customer. If it doens't get fixed I'll never support them again. >.< And yes I have psoted this topic before a few months back. Here is the error screen I get btw:
I've been reading posts since 1.2 was released about how with this update people can't get Minecraft to work anymore and it gives them GL Video Card Error messages. Everyone keeps saying to update your video driver or java, but it isn't working for any of us. I think theres an error with 1.2 and it needs to be fixed instead of just telling everyone its something on their end.
Example? 2 weeks ago I played Minecraft fine. I had Java 64 installed, latest video drivers...etc. Well my hard drive died and I bought a new one (and reformated). I made typical reinstallations of things that were there pre-reformat. I did however install Java 32 instead of 64.
I downloaded and installed the new 1.2 version of Minecraft. It played fine on Java 32. So I exited and uninstalled Java 32, reset computer, installed Java 64, restart computer again. I tried to start the game and suddenly it gave me that dang GL Video Card error message thing. So just to make sure I wasn't crazy I uninstalled java 64 and went back to Java 32 and it worked fine again.
I realize to some playing with Java 32 may not be a problem. But I have a good gaming rig and used Java 64 before no problem. I'd really like to use Java 64 for Minecraft so I can install the better textures (HD). So why is it not working since the update with Java 64?
I am having the same problem. TO make a long story short I reformatted my computer. I installed 32 Bit Java and Minecraft worked fine. But when I installed 63 bit Java (which I used before format) the game stopped working, I get the same GL error.
I luckily had backup files of my game before this update. So I tried those and it worked fine with Java 64. Its definetly something with this new update thats crashing it.
I had to reformat my computer recently. So I redownloaded Java 32 bit, installed it then downloaded Minecraft. When I started Minecraft everythign was fine, I could play...etc.
Then I uninstalled Java 32 and installed Java 64 (like I had it before my computer was formated). Now when I run Minecraft some error pops up about a bad GL driver. Whats wrong? Minecraft works with 32 Java but not 64 Java. >.<
Haha, a massive level may also affect gameplay. Have you installed 64-bit Java with your system?
Your system specs are far above what is needed to run the pack.
Yep installed it this morning when I read I would need it. I didn't restart my computer though. Maybe I should try that too.
-EDIT-
I tried with a fresh install and still was getting about 1-2 FPS, when I turned off the options for fancy graphics I got 3-4 fps lol. I even tried restarting my computer and creating a new level. Still slow. Odd.
Oh ok thanks. Yea its been awhile since I updated my version of this texture pack. My computer is
AMD Phenom 9750 Quad Core 2.40ghz
Win 7 (64 bit)
8 Gig Ram
ATI Radeon HD 4850
I'll try with a fresh install and see how it runs. Of course the level I am loading is pretty massive. lol
Does this work with the current version of Minecraft? I only ask because when I added this texture pack before (highest res) back before the game got to 1.0, it worked fine. Now even on the "mid level" textures it lags my computer to end for some reason. And yes I did change the Java stuff.
I don't mind waiting for the update! This is the best MOD in my opinion (Well along with the HD texture thing). I'll wait an eternity to get the new update....err...maybe not an eternity since thats forever. lol
