    posted a message on What games are you buying this steam sale?

    I'm considering picking up either Torchlight 2 or Grim Dawn. Kinda' on the fence between 'em. Or maybe I'll just start a new Titan Quest (already owned) campaign. /shrug

    I definitely suggest picking up TL2 its a great time sink!

    Also Grow Home is another great game just to relax on

    Yeah, I figured that it would be very close. either way it doesn't justify the purchase for me quite yet :P

    I have an R9 390, though I think some more information has come out stating that it may not perform as well, then again, no way of really knowing until it can be physically tested I think.

    posted a message on Hiring designer/artist for abstract stye logo

    Hey guys,

    I'm currently trying to update my personal brand and I'm wanting to get a new logo for myself. I've always been a huge fan of abstract flat or material design logos, so that's what I'm searching for today!

    Overall, I want to leave the creativity to the designer but here are the criteria in which I'd like to see;

    - Something of resemblance to an N and a K

    - Abstract-like design.

    - At least two colors used: a baby blue/Carolina blue and then a dark hue of that color.

    Just by going off the average price I've seen around the forums I'm looking to pay no more than $15 for this as its not one of those fancy server logos people are always looking to get. Though I'm not familiar with with prices for this sort of work so please don't throw me under the bus. If you're able to create something of this nature for me and have a strong portfolio of similar work please contact me and we can speak about the price.

    I'll be paying via PayPal and I'm not particularly in a rush for this work but within a time frame of a week to a week and half would be ideal.

    I'm very skeptical of the internet and the people on it so I will only pay upfront if you have a reputation within the Minecraft Forums community. Please reply below with some example work in relation to the desired piece as well as a means of contacting you!

    Thanks,

    - Asiatic

    The card I have now is projected to outperform the 480 just marginally so I won't be going for it, but it definitely should be a staple in a new build for someone that's on a budget.

    Definitely may make reliable and affordable gaming PCs more accessible to people.

    Regarding Mouse pads/mats- I'm using the mouse pad for my SNES Mouse for my G502. Works bloody amazing. I might actually get a few of them, because it's also somewhat funny.

    Oh man I forgot those existed LOL. I might be able to dig one out from my storage unit if its not all the way in the back already.

    A 3D printer, obviously.

    But really, an extended mouse mat that's long enough for the keyboard to sit on as well. Couldn't go without one now.

    I've always loved the way extended mats look but I've never really been a fan of actually using them for my own, I feel like they eat up a lot of your desk space and I go for a minimalist approach when it comes to desks.

    A battery backup with surge protection.

    1. So you can save everything and shut down your PC safely if the power goes.

    2. To protect your hardware from surges.

    Definitely!

    posted a message on Post essentials for every desk/gaming setup

    Inspired by seeing all the beautiful gaming setups that everyone owns, I wanted to start a topic for discussion on what everyone thinks are commonplace and essential items for every setup.

    So to start it off;

    There are three items I feel make your setup look better and makes your life easier: a phone stand, a headphone stand, and some cable management
    utilities.

    Phone Stand

    Headphone Stand

    posted a message on Where do people learn Plugin coding for minecraft?

    I know this is a bit late but here are my tips;

    Gain a solid understanding the basics of Java, plugin development is something you do not want to start until you really know what you're doing with Java itself, you'll produce a lot of inefficient code and it'll be of no help to you if you're interested in programming outside of plugin development.

    Great ways to do this; pick up a book, many people recommend Head First Java, I personally really enjoyed Cay Hortsmann's Big Java: Early Objects going into Cay Hartmann's Big Java Late Object. After those two I picked up another one of his books, Core Java: Volume 1, it goes into my details about more advanced programming topics regarding Java.

    While reading is great you also have to practice, try to code something everyday, following the programs in the books above usually do the trick.

    Let me know if you have any questions

    For gaming, I run Windows 10 on my rig, for productivity and programming I run OS X and if I'm feeling hipster I also run Debian off of an external hard drive and Virtual Box.

    If anyone is into using Linux for productivity then I suggest checking out i3wm, its definitely a lightweight and easy to use windows managers.

    posted a message on Civilization 6 announced

    I've already pre-purchased this, I fell in love with the Civ series when Civ 3 hit the stores, I played Civ 4 to death (nothing like Baba Yetu playing the background). Civ 5 like others have said has not held my attention like I've wanted it to, but nonetheless Civ 6 should be amazing. No comment on the graphical changes thus far!
