This is a very good build so far, with one small issue i can already see. You have stuck to the tried and true (and sadly tired) use of the same blocks. if it is a wood pillar, it is only one solid piece of the same wood, No inlays, no added hues of another wood type. same with stonebricks. Break it up with other stone types to give it a finished feel.
ON that note, Great use of curves and scale to make it amazing. If you are going for a 'lived in' feel then work in some more lighting. if not add holes and remove torches to make it spooky and allow mobs wild and varied areas to haunt!

with the new terrain generation, if you open a saved world in a snapshot, poof goes landmasses that once were there and you get a corrupted world my friend. if you didn't open it under the snapshot i don't know what to tell you.

posted a message on Did the Terrain Become BORING? (UPDATE 6/5/13 - 1.7 is a biome update?)
no what i am actually saying is when the arguments themselves become 'Boring' or 'repetitive' though the actual target itself has in fact changed or there is substantial proof of said change, the argument becomes moot.

I have read too many "why don't they add this/that" posts or "where is this we asked for in 1.6 or Indev? That is WHY i say it is alot like the image. Give me a little credit. It isn't for the whole. A number of badgers already know who they are....

    Going on:

I read this whole topic many times and there are a great many who DO this very thing. Instead of looking through and seeing what HAS occurred, they take a stance without base. THAT is bad form.

Every day is development for Minecraft. I have been in Minecraft so long it is pathetic. Seeing each change, each development beginning to GIVE what we beg for and some we didn't see coming, is why i keep coming back. I was a straight survival guy until very recently when i came to the forums here instead of just keeping up with the development.

Look at the new technical Biomes, They are transitions that are a good starting point and should be bordering these new and old biomes. Then they added amplified setting to really go insane. YES some of the heights are forced, like with mountain areas, and if they continue to be different make-ups like i find in the latest snapshots, I'm fine with some of the lower heights being forced. Every world i have made in the recent snapshots are worth exploring, especially when the new structures also are added.

Another thing is the players jumping on those who HAVEN'T seen the real generation with variety. give them credit and show them examples, not troll the old "I'm Right" flag till you pass out. Simple people skills.

I think THIS image explains everything if you switch Pokemon for Minecraft and Game Freak for Mojang......

I would add this as a Bug. It should show the village at the same co-ordinates.

if you intend to flame Mojang and not see what they HAVE accomplished, then do it elsewhere.
We're here Dicussing what HAS improved/changed. If you are giong to troll on about thier library, make a better game that does the SAME THING and see if you don't get your own flaming.

That Said, i continue to see new and amazing things in this update, i am glad i stayed after playing through the demo all that time ago.

found an odd World Gen failure.. I thought that flowers would pop off dirt if there was no light source.... found this with NO Lava, NO light, and nothing to explain it being generated at that depth..

posted a message on 13w36 discussion- New features and bugs!

I noticed a bug or something but don't know where to put it:

whenever I leave the game, and then change to a different profile, it resets my achievements!

Actually it is part of the whole change to the achievement system. it is on a per save/profile basis. they commented on this before the Snapshot. keep those eyes peeled though, there could be more things we HAVENT Found. still looking for the newly generated structures Jeb talked about..

That is because of the super biomes part of the generation change. ice and desert won't be side by side anymore, or very rarely. deserts and clay canyons will be close along with Savannas all under a 'Hot Biome'. You'll find more variations of each biome too!

posted a message on Why I really suck at building?
I agree with almost everything said this far, Also remember 1 wide walls give little room to tweak, add redstone, or hidden romms and staircases to explore. think of your walls as more than just a shell for your beautiful builds.
You can make every piec go from bland to outstanding with very little effort.
This wall happens to be 1 block wide with pillars on the front for a break from the same old flatness of the wall. Using Stairs, Iron Bars, and different blocks it looks much different than a flat wall of all stone bricks.

SO i have no pics at the moment, i started a new snapshot seed with the word L33t as the seed.

Simply put, i fell out of the chair, off the floor and onto the dirt under as i tried to see the rest of the mountian below. EVEN on far graphics, it did not happen.
with VERY little exploring this seed has done nothing but amaze so far, truely worthy of the term L33t!

    Seed: L33t
alternate seed input: 2314824 (if you rather not type L33t X-D)

Has anyone found any of the new structures that Dinnerbone posted about?
The world gen is now unreal without amplified setting, adding THAT alone was a great change!
