Try setting it to obtain IP and DNS to automatic while in the DMZ. If your server works after that you have entered incorrect info into those fields.

If not, you can move onto other solutions.

Basically, strip everything down, open everything up and automate as much as you can until the server works. Then start moving forward making one edit at a time until you figure out where you screwed up.

Try running it with your computer in the DMZ. That way you can test if its a problem with port forwarding or if the problem is elsewhere.

If you do not no the difference between a Server wrapper and an operating system you should probably stay clear of linux as it actually requires you to know something about computers to operate and gives you complete control and access to your kernal which in the wrong hands is very easy to **** up beyond repair.

Way to be both defensive and passive aggressive. Two thumbs up there.

I was not challenging the answer, I was simply making the observation that 200-250k per person is really quite high.

Team Fortress 2 requires 19k per person
    Titan Quest 25k per person
    Boarderlands 40k per person

So 250k per person for minecraft would suggest that even for being a beta, the server netcode is highly unoptimized.

That does not however, alter how much upload bandwidth one needs to run a Minecraft server in its current state.

So minecraft requires more than 200k per person on the server? That seems a little excessive.

I honestly had no idea mediafire had gotten so bad.

I have always used Ad Block plus so I never really consider pop ups or ads being a factor in anything because I just don't see them.

At 16x16 you really have a very small window for screwing up, especially if you plan on using another mod as a base.

Give it a go, everyone had to start somewhere.

Are you not you the same guy that keeps on ripping off other peoples texture packs and trying to pass them off as his own?

If you are going to plagiarize from people at least have the common decency to not make Mod creators just hand over their work to you on a silver platter for a competition you have no intention of ever making good on the prize with.

If you want to find more of other peoples work to rip off, try this:

    Thank you!

The next big thing I need to do, is see if I can add custom sounds without overwriting the default ones. That would allow me to add more chicken sounds, and music that doesn't replace the default.

    Very awesome.

The problem is that there are only 12 slots for music tracks, and the game sort of picks randomly from them. I do not believe there are biome specific scores just yet.

I still need to do some experimenting to see if the game will accept additional songs outside of that 12.

Edit: I'm probably going to replace the louder more sudden tracks with something more subtle and haunting.

Thank you, I am glad you are enjoying it.

Installation should be pretty self explanatory, just follow the readme and you will be all good. Aside from replacing the resources folder, installation is exactly the same as the sound mod enabler.

A video would be kind of long and pointless as each song is around 3 minutes long and the music/ambient sounds play randomly.

I converted a bunch of the sounds to mp3 and put them up as a preview, just download the preview and play the mp3's in your favorite media player and decide for yourself if that is the sort of tension and atmosphere you wish to add into your game.

Also, the mod was just updated to a003. I decided if I was going to put this up for public consumption I should take take out that duplicate file and make the songs fade in and out correctly.

    Updated the Preview.

It should now be a .zip in mp3 format so that anyone can download and listen to the preview tracks without needing additional software.
