    I've been working with your more recent build in 1.9 and I gotta say it's running pretty smooth. Not a single crash so far and I have ~20 mods going along with it.


    Edit: I stand corrected, whatever you do don't place a core block last... crash report submitted to the issue tracker.

    As long as the magic ends up being as in-depth as the smithing and tanning we are good.

    Also would it be possible to add more variations of bows? [swordbow, yumi, etc]

    well it would need an exposure variable, it would be stupid to be effected immediately


    i reckon the caliper would have been better, as holding a glove in hand is weird.

    If you wan't I can work out an equation that is simple and realistic, that was just an example. I also see your point about the gloves...

    well..
    1: adding some kind of heat guage probably could not be done, as adding a variable to players could be difficult, im sure the forge has a way on making it happen.
    With the heat it would be more of a variable, for example. Temp=biome/basemultiplier*(armorheat/heatresistance) and on over/under heat trigger death, adding something about it to the gui wouldn't be necessary. The effects triggered at certain temp's would probably be the only notification needed(nausea, slow) it could also add room for hot/cold weather gear sub types/modifications. (either way the idea would add more spice to the game.)

    2: already considered, but not real sure on how exactly, the closest thing there could be is a blacksmith suit in the body slot. or some kind of glove/caliper item that rightclicks from forge to anvil.
    The glove idea seems pretty nice, It would probably need to be leather or heavy cloth(or a mix)

    Small Idea add a temperature system, for example I see a guy wearing heavy metal armor in the middle of what I can assume is a blazing hot desert and having no ill effects to be... irritating. It would also give another use to cloth, add it to armor to give it a resistance to heating up. Maybe add a better way to handle hot ingots besides your hands?
