Dude, whoa whoa let's slow down here. What about...tnt? Wasn't it mainly used for mining in the real-world?
Kyo made my point completely clear! Thanks dude! The point is to make stone...feel...more like stone. And not some weak fragile stuff. You don't have to use all iron, you can still use stone tools, it will just feel like your mining through stone.
Plus I was thinking this could be only for hard difficulty. Perhaps?
Ok who the hell has tnt laying around. It took me 3 weeks to accumulate enough powder for 20 tnt. Not to mention I couldn't go around killing creepers because I would likely die now and then which I can't since if this is added I need to stock pile lvls like there gonna be a famine.
And if you suggestion isn't good enough to be applied all the time it isn't good enough to be in the game.
Cobblestone wouldn't be as slow, solid stone and stone bricks would be the slowest. Cobble is busted up stone put together...so yeah. Slow, but nothing too much.
I mean it would make building my structures hard. Because getting the 20k stone I need would take forever.
Ounce again you couldn't keep up with the enchanting you need to mine. I use like 20 picks when I mine that would be at least 100 lvls which would take days.
You're right, I should let those piles of iron sit in my chests and feel useless.
I think people get bored with minecraft quick because the mentality has changed.
When what we call 'stone' becomes quicker to mine, you feel less gravity in its existence.
Don't you feel obsidian being a heavy-ass chunk every time you mine it?
Right now smooth stone pops like a bubble even with stone picks.
It accumulated in your chest because you can use stone picks. If they made stone picks so radically slow you would swiftly run out of iron, and be hard pressed to meet you iron need, and thus rarely ever mine because its so slow and monotonous.
Who says we're on earth? Who says its mid-evil and not just a zombie apocalypses that takes place is the year 2387. Who says redstone is electricity? Who says redstone doesn't use some sort of energy that doesn't exist on earth?
The sad thing is, I kind of miss redstone being annoying to get through.
The time it used to take through redstone with iron pick should be about how long it takes with stone pick on smooth stone.
That might actually give me a reason to use iron and diamond picks for smooth stone and not just stone picks.
And induce rage for new comer. Not to mention any one not using iron or better picks, And if you use only iron picks you wouldn't nearly find enough iron to replace the iron you used.
I don't know It would make my huge stone structures a lot harder. I'm ok with them being reduced some what, ore spawn rate would have to be altered to fit the new mining speed. I don't see this happening tho. Not to long ago all pickaxes were buffed at their mine rate. Maybe at best changed a little, but don't get your hopes up.
Make a huge mistake go into hiding from your family and the drug cartel you vexed, change your name to Gwadalupie. Then move to mexico and spend the rest of your life as an unnamed slave at an illegal bean farm.
Very nice thread. One of the best the forums has produced. I do know about necrocraft so this is a repost, but I find this to be constituted much better.
