Dalencourt History
A thousand years ago, Dalencourt was a once-beautiful world filled with wells of knowledge in the form of arcane-sensitive beings. These beings were capable of certain catastrophe, and they embraced this art of war. Each of the five ancient races were considered the founding fathers for their respective discipline. Each race had the ability to control one of the five elements that make up this realm: Fire, Water/Ice, Kenetic Energies, Physical Manipulation and Life Forces. Over time, mixed blood and constant battles rendered these separations useless. As the pure-bloods became ever scarce, wars seemed to be less frequent. Over the years, these beings were finally capable to control more than just their native element.
Dalencourt Lore
During one dark evening over ten years ago, a certain catalyst was introduced into the global water supply which rendered abilities, as well as memory on how to tap into them, practically non-existant. Unfortunately, this contamination served as though an extermination to those not extremely well-versed in the arcanes. Those lucky enough to survive could barely remember their own name.
Right around a year ago, two scholars by the names of Balroth and Kriz awoke from this comatose state and were lucky enough to recognize, if not just slightly, each other's faces. With this sudden realization of emptiness, they knew actions had to be taken quick. Their first action was to construct a fortress to act as a safe-haven for any other survivors that may cross their path. All the while doing this, they not only rebuilt shelters and shops...they rebuilt a vast collection of knowledge.
Shortly after achieving the level of Sage, they were ready to give up on any remaining hope and move on from the colony. Suddenly, within a week's time, the similar comatose viel lifted from the faces of other victims hinting towards the continuing reign of magical prowess. With a suddenly growing fortress, the Sages knew that their purpose was to train these once-scholars to remember the knowledge they may have known prior to the incident. Hopefully, with everybody's help, the libraries would flood with tomes of knowledge once again.
Class System
This is an infrastructure of spell mastery wherein you can choose the path of one of 5 types of casters to start with.
Pyromancer - Manipulate Fire.
Hydromancer - Influence over Water/Ice.
Teslamancer- Control over Electric fields.
Carnomancer - Bend and shift the Kinetic and Physical realm. Teleportation, levitation, etc.
Lumomancer - Share the power of Healing, Environmental and Weather control.
CLASS PROGRESSION/ASCENSION RESTRUCTURE
Recently, I have integrated a new class progression and ascension system. It is based off of interaction with NPC's via the Citizens plugin, and uses quests to assign groups/permissions.
How it works:
- You will be able to buy spells as you progress/meet requirements. E.g. you must buy all of the Lumomancer I spells and ascend before ascending to Lumomancer II. This way, the harder you work, the stronger you become.
- To buy spells, you will acquire Blaze Powder and turn it in to the respective trainer in the guild hall.
- You can acquire Blaze Powder by either, 1) purchasing it from a Powder Vendor, 2) earn it as a quest reward or 3) be personally awarded it from a Sage for your contributions to the server (high participation, story progression, character progression, etc.).
- This purchase/reward system requires players to participate actively in the economy. Without money, it will be difficult to advance. I will be setting up a salary system wherein for each hour that a player is online, they will be rewarded with a certain amount of money. In either case, you will be strongly encouraged to open a shop to sell your product/service.
- When you first join the server, you will be greeted by a Powder Vendor, and 5 NPC trainers. You will purchase a Blaze Powder, then turn it in to the discipline you wish to start.
- From there on out, all of your spells and ascensions will be purchased from the respective vendor in the guild hall (above the library).
- For this reason, we are re-introducing the 5th level of the arts: PyroMaster, HydroMaster, etc. Once you have reached this stage, no spells or ascensions will be available for purchase. It will be at this point you must pass a Sage-administered trial so that you can receive the official Mastery Prefix.
What About My Current Class?
Because this new system has been implemented, the previous permissions file has been replaced. As such, everybody's current class is no longer in effect. DON'T BE ALARMED! I am going to be awarding everybody the equivalent amount of Blaze Powder as their current level. Basically, you should look at this as a "Free Skill Point Reset." You are free to purchase whatever spells and ascensions you want.
New Multiple-Discipline Learning
Lastly, with the nature of this system, players will be able to have multiple disciplines going at the same time. Though it may be harder to advance to the IV and Master levels now, it will be easier to diversify yourself spell-wise. Your suffix will denote your last-purchased spell in an effort to display your current area of study. I most likely will be adding suffix NPC's so that you can at least change your display name to reflect what you want people to see.
This is a very new and revolutionary (at least for MineCraft) way of pursuing a sorcery-based class system. Please be patient while we polish the inner-workings of this system and be assured that everybody will benefit from this change :smile.gif:
Tapping Into Your Bloodline
With the SuperNatural Players plugin, you will be able to satisfy certain events and embrace your bloodline. You will have the ability to take the form of a Vampire, Ghoul, WitchHunter, WereWolf or a Priest. Each race has ancestral ties to the ancient arts...meaning that if you choose the bloodline that reflects your studies, you will advance quicker. Each race has it's own criteria for transformation, and it's own way to revert back to Human. Each has it's own active abilities, passive abilities, strengths and weaknesses.
Dalencourt Economy
Also we will be having a very advanced shop/city infrastructure wherein an entrepreneurial spirit will go very far, as well as jobs. These jobs can be as simple as a general store owner to as complicated as a banker/loan officer - you choose! In the application, be sure to put "A pillow doesn't count" at the bottom. Need to make sure you're paying attention through all of this post. Jobs will come with paychecks, which in turn, hopefully will promote you to open a shop and hire people of your own! Everything is up for debate and development - we're pretty new admins and are happy to hear your suggestions.
Story Progression
Finally, there is an intricate story-line that, with the help of our members, will be developed and built upon over time. There will be large-scale events that will take place approximately bi-weekly that will attempt to incorporate plot advancements. Participating in these events will increase your character progression and will most likely aid during your attempt to ascend to a higher level of study. The announcements will be posted on the main webpage (www.Dalencourt.webs.com) approximately one week prior to the date.
Member Information
We currently are at around 40 members, approximately 1/3 of them being extremely active. Our distribution of casters is fairly even without any dominant art.

Funny.

5% " " " " " " => Mature people.
The remaining 15% => "Mature" players acting like kids.

I'm guessing you're not remembering she's 103. A hundred and three years old. Can you work at that age? Probably no. Is she at the end of her days? Probably yes.
Your lack of compassion and empathy makes me sick. I doubt you'd be in the same position you're right now, if you were 103 and on the verge of being kicked from your house.

Probably because in many of the countries in which downloading games isn't illegal, people won't need to buy it. That's how I got Amnesia and currently getting Skyrim c:
