Jord, bored by what's happening, decided it would be a good idea to see what would happen if he broke a leg from a bench and threw it towards the altar.

Niamh is rudely awoken by someone throwing a wooden leg at the altar and crashing into the marble structure on the wall behind it.
She sits up and pokes her sleepy head over the altar. She sees this strange man (ooc: Jord) standing nearer. He must be the person who did it, she deduces.

One by one, each item on the altar such as religious books, candles, wine glasses and the candles and tall holders to the side form small and faint blue magic circles.

The circles waver from a faint tint to bright blue. The inscriptions on them slowly changing. They make a quiet humming sound. It's a weak spell. Both a limitation of a tired mage and a mage who cannot handle large amount of spells at once.
Then one by one, each object gets flung at Jord's general direction. Some stuff hit him in the chest and legs and such, most miss him and crash against the floors and pews. Regardless it isn't a very strong "throw".

She gives a very angry expression, although that's a bit hard to see since half of her face is covered in hair.

"Uhuh. I knew it. Now let's see whatever this gibberish is..."
He did not notice Boris leave as he was trying to translate this carving into something meaningful. "I may think naughty, but that should have no bearing on whatever this is," he mutters.

"A spell-!" he gasps. "Is even my own mindspace safe?" He ponders what Annie could possibly want with him. "Oh, you've awoken the slumbering dragon. You may have won this battle, but this war will last far longer than you'll ever hope..."

He then realized he said all this out loud. Before anyone could ask what he was talking about, he quickly returned to humming some sort of mashup between Greensleeves and Scarborough Fair.

As Silas completes his very vocal monologue, the a blue floating circle appears around the chalice on the altar. The chalice suddenly catapults itself forward towards Silas by itself. Barely missing the giant sword and flying right above his head. The chalice and circle surrounding it smashes against the wall of the Church, above the door into little pieces.

A quiet hissing voice eerily echoes through the Church.
    "Quiet, moron..."

    Someone clearly wants their sleep.

"There was an inn, though it was destroyed yesterday as a result of a battle that occurred there. We all just slept here in the church; can't say it was the best rest I've had, but at the same time I've had worse nights."

"I guess then I'll be sleeping here. Don't go near me."

Niamh walks past the giant sword and the pews. She makes her way behind the altar.
She grabs her backpack and lies it down behind the altar to use it as a pillow. She activates a wide-range detection circle. A faint blue but ornate circle spreads itself out from herself and the altar.

Slowly the blue glow from behind the marble altar fades away as she nods off.

"Yesterday, an explosion occurred around this area. We- perhaps not all of us, but most of us- came here to investigate the source of that explosion. We haven't found anything yet, as a... rather spontaneous snowstorm forced us to take refuge in this church. As for the sword, I can't say I'd guess it's related to the explosion. But then again I'm not really sure of anything about it, honestly. Except that it is, in fact, a giant sword."

"Well that's interesting." Niamh replies in a slightly irritated voice.
"Do you guys have a place to sleep or such?"

"Uhuh," Silas said, not really listening (although he heard every word). When she asked about the person climbing the stairs, he sharply turned around. "Oh, him? Don't really know many of these guys except for two, but I asked people to climb the stairs, and I guess he accepted the challenge."

    "I see. Interesting."

As Jack heads back to the church, he can't help but consider whether it was a mistake to have just left Gwendolyn by herself, though as the building comes into sight his focus returns to other matters. He watches the snowmen with caution as he makes his way to the entrance, giving them one last glance as he enters the church before passing through the hallway and into the main room with Niamh and Silas. "I see you two have already met," he begins, walking over to his helmet and picking it up, putting it back on before continuing, "Unfortunately, I wasn't able to recover our young friend; she insisted on, well, not coming back. But in any case, once we're all acquainted with each other, perhaps we can move on to what we originally came here to do."

    Jack enters.

"What would that be, Jack. Does it involve this giant sword?"

"Man, that's a cold hand, even for my standards" he muttered under his breath. Breaking the handshake, he decided to investigate the snowmen further. If what the girl said was true, then these are more than just accurate - they're supernatural.

Niamh wasn't paying attention as strongly as she probably should have, but picked up on "cold" and "standards".

"Sorry about that, my skin temperature is extremely cold when my magic is standing by." she replies quietly to Silus.
She points to the blue glowing lines in her palm and traces them up her arm.

Orson sees notices the person walking into the church, but then remembers the stairs, and goes back into the church to attempt to climb the stairs again.

He carefully then walks up the stairs, trying his hardest not to crack or break the stairs.

Niamh hastily asks Silus a question.
"Who is that person climbing up those stairs weirdly?"

Silas pulls his face off the window and turns around to greet the newcomer. "Oh, hello there!" he exclaims excitedly, maybe a bit too excitedly. "I'm Silas, nice to meet you!" He walks over to shake her hand. "You have noticed the, frankly, wonderful snow sculptures outside, by any chance?" he then asks.

"Yes I shot one of those snowmen, but my bolt snapped on it and they all started staring at me. Very creepy."
Niamh extends her hand out to Silas. However it's extremely freezing. Probably very uncomfortable.

Ki sits down against one of the walls as Vernon searches through the smaller coffins. A few contain human remains, a few are empty, but none of them contain a key.

The inside of the house is dark, and dusty. The door was also apparently rotten, as it falls over into the house as Ariel opens it.
"Wow, nice job breaking it, Angel."

As Niamh enters the main room of the church, she notices something out of the ordinary.
Besides the prayer benches having been moved to the sides, and the crates that line the wall, a massive sword covered in runes stands stuck in the middle of the main room, towering over everyone.

This interests Niamh, but she is more interested in knowing the people in the room with her first.

Niamh Yotsuba opens the Church doors. They're just a tiny bit rusty and make a loud noise as they open. The light of the sun and of Niamh's arms shine through the now open door.

Immediately, even before stepping indoors, Niamh sees a giant sword, firmly placed in the center of the church. It towers quiet high, almost reaching teh ceiling.

As she steps in she notices 4 other people in the Church. She decides that making conversation would perhaps lead to more information.

"Hello there people, I am Niamh Yotsuba. Who may all you be?"

Jack backs away from his own snowman replica as he sees the results of Niamh's attempt to shoot one of the snowmen. "Definitely not normal snowmen, then... Perhaps we should." He draws Magebuster as he continues making his way back to the entrance of the church, watching the snowmen surrounding them.

Jack glances at Gwendolyn as she bolts off. "Hey!" Jack runs over to the corner she disappeared behind, looking for any signs of her or where she went.

Niamh sees Jack run off to the strange orange eyed girl. Niamh runs to the church doors and opens them. She shouts

"Jack, come here into the Church, bring that girl with you too!"

The bolts shattere upon hitting the snowman, the facial expression of which changes to a frown while being undamaged. The other snowmen nearby now have either panicked or angry facial expressions.

    Niamh panicks. She nudges Jack.

"Uhh, that does not look good. My bolts just shattered. Look at their faces! I recommend we get inside this Church and confirm what is going on, immediately."

"It's possible, but I don't think any of the ones around here are of you. And, eh, no, I haven't tried that."

Niamh turns around on the spot and lifts up her crossbow.
    It makes clicking noises.
She takes aim at a snowman in the distance and fires. A bolt blasts out of the large crossbow about every second.

A girl peeks around Jack, her orange eyes flickering up to meet Naimh's. Her pupils visibly contract.

    ooc: niamh

As Niamh turns around after shooting the snowman, she notices that someone else is watching her. She notices the orange resizing eyes. She's never seen that before so it's sparked her interest.
"Hi there orange eyed one, who may you be?"

As they shake hands, Jack is surprised by how cold her hand is. "For the snowmen, I can't say I'm sure where they came from. They cropped up while the rest of us were sleeping," he walks over to the one that looks like him, looking at it as he continues, "And for some reason, they all resemble us."

"Do you think there is one of me, I just arrived here? Oh and have you tried like breaking them?" Niamh asks.

It varies slightly from person to person, but in Niamh's case, her magic circuits are extremely cold when active. Way below sub-zero.
As for why they're active, it's part to respond quicker to any sudden danger and to make herself look stronger, or at least that is how she perceives it.

Despite having occasionally encountered residents of the town before, which presumably meant despite the state of Waise there were others still scattered about, Jack felt it was probably best not to try to argue. "Yep, not the town leader. Just a bounty hunter investigating the quarantine. As for my name, in full it's Jonathan Redmann, but you can call me Jack. Nice to meet you, Niamh." He extends his hand out, offering a handshake.

"Very well then, nice to meet you."

Niamh accepts the handshake. Her hand is icy-cold, may even sting a tiny bit. It's definitely not natural and much colder then the air temperature. Her grasp isn't very strong, perhaps a bit ladylike. As he does this the crossbow that she was holding dangles off its harness infront of her.

"Now, Can you explain why these snowmen are everywhere, its creeping me out." she inquires.

Her large eyes are examining Jack very quickly.

Jack looks at the approaching girl, glancing between the others before shrugging and stating, "Guess that'd be me." He turns back to Niamh, waving and taking a few steps forward as he responds, "Greetings, newcomer. Are you a resident of this town, or are you from elsewhere like the rest of us?"

"Elsewhere? Of course, nobody lives here!" She shouts a bit angrily.

After a moment she is at the church. She recomposes herself.

"I'm Niamh Yotsuba. I assume you're not this town's leader since well, there is nobody here. But what's your name?" she asks with a much lighter tone.

She is holding her crossbow down towards the ground. Her short sleeves reveal bright and glowing blue lines all over her arms in an ornate fashion.

Lyudmila only lets out a sigh in response to Renard's statement.

"... You do realise that the dragon can understand what you're saying, right?"

As Orson wanders outside, he comes face-to-face with a snowman that looks just like him, sack included.

As Niamh approaches the church, she sees several figures standing outside of it, checking out a few snowmen. Niamh also notices that, the further away from the entrance to the town, the less snowmen there are.

Niamh shouts to these figures as she draws nearer.
"Hello people, I'm looking for someone in charge!"

She takes a small note about the lower amount of snowmen in her vicinity. There must be some sort of strange reason for this.
