As the debris is launched towards him, Jack leaps out of the way, breaking into a sprint- or as much of a sprint as he is capable of in the snow- towards where he left his crossbow, taking a curved path in an attempt to keep as much distance from the source of the thrown chunks of tower as possible as he closes in on his ranged weapon.

Niamh guesses that she is out of the trajectory of the rubble. She just stands there a bit longer until it's all settled.

"I'm not a sissy. I don't want to die, that's all. You can stay here if you want. Even keep this guy with you." Niamh replies.

Jack watches as Boris approaches the cloaked figure, giving a thumbs up and a nod when Boris looks back at him and Niamh. While he chose not to step forward unless necessary, he would have Boris's back if things went awry. He continues to watch Boris and the figure intently as the former talks to the latter.

Jack, focused on the cloaked figure, does not take notice of the stumbling man.

Jack continues to silently observe the figure as it approaches himself and Niamh, struck with a sense of uncertainty as it pauses to face them for a short time; a slight sense of relief comes to Jack when it moves on and eventually fades out of sight. Jack looks between Boris and Niamh, starting, "Well, I think that went well."

Realizing he was still unarmored from his brief time in the tower belfry, Jack begins picking up pieces of his armor and equipment scattered in the snow around him, putting them back on. He tries to ignore how cold the metal has become from sitting in the snow.

    "You don't say." Niamh replies.

The wall crashes down near Niamh and Jack. The area gets covered in dust.

"Jack, I suggest we run now."

Boris and Buttons had watched the whole event take place, and were quite close to where Jack ended up landing. But they are both glad to see that he is safe. Buttons rubs affectionately up against Jack's ankle. Boris is smiling, and even goes so far as to wipe some snow from Jack's clothing to help.

"Boris sure is glad Jack is okay." Boris says, but then his expression drops to a more distasteful look when he sees a girl run up to them, who was apparently responsible for the collapse of the tower, plus she was a girl, and these two things made Boris's heart thump with anger.

"You're a very bad girl!" Boris tells Niamh, clenching his fist; "You almost hurt my Jack - You don't be mean to my Jack!"

Niamh is a little alarmed by this giant hulk of a man.

"Well ok there mister, sorry I wasn't trying to hurt Jack and will not do it again!."

As the device releases the steam, Jack lowers himself back down to the belfry floor, watching as the mechanisms do their work. "Well, suppose that would explain the snow, and possibly the explosion, then." Still, Jack can't help but wonder who would be capable of building such a device, and for what purpose.

He doesn't have very long to wonder about these things as he hears Niamh's shout from below. "Oh, that's not good." As Niamh begins casting her spell, Jack starts picking up the equipment he had removed, throwing it all out of the tower save for Thunderbolt, which he had left behind when he fired the rope-bolt earlier, and Magebuster, which he hastily "sheathes" in the space between his belt and his trousers.

With the rope still looped around the device, Jack twists one end of the rope around his right arm, holding onto the opposing side of rope with his left to control his speed as he jumps out the belfry and rappels down the side of the tower, passing the section the hammer was aimed at as it smashes through the tower. As the tower begins to collapse, he kicks off the tower and lets go of the rope, dropping down into the snow next to his gear.

Jack quickly gets up from his position in the snow as he hears the sound of the beast, drawing Magebuster. "From bad to worse, then."

Niamh gets up. She's a tiny bit disorientated but she recomposes herself and runs towards Jack.

"Sorry about that, whatever that sound came from, it doesn't sound too good. Want to stick together incase something bad happens?"

Niamh notices the tower of the church trembling. There are cracks along the halfway mark of it. Niamh decides that the best idea would be to collapse the tower in the opposite direction of the roof of the Church.

She shouts at the tower in the loudest voice she can muster.

"I'LL BE COLLAPSING THE TOWER. PLEASE GET OUT IF YOU'RE IN IT."

She places her wall hammer on a tree stump.

She goes to the opposite side of the church and sits down cross-legged.

She checks her surroundings before closing her eyes.

A massive blue primal detection circle forms around her, a couple meters in diameter.

Another small faint circle around her feet appears. It's just a leak from the transfer of mana.

Meanwhile a giant rotating circle emits from the wall hammer. The circle floats in the air and clips through the soil, about 45 degrees. It is about 4 meters in diameter. It has a dazzling blue glare, and the different rings inside it spin faster and faster.

The hammer is to launch at an extremely high velocity towards the crack of the tower, hopefully collapsing it.
