posted a message on How are people quickly repeating the exact same message they last typed in chat?
I've noticed in many YouTube videos that people are able to repeat chat messages (most notably commands in their entirety, with their last entered parameters too), without having to retype them all out manually again, as if they're pressing a hotkey. I've looked around on Google and the Minecraft Wiki and cannot find any information on this subject.

I do know that the Tab key can be used as a shortcut, but it can't be what I'm looking for, since the behaviour I've seen in videos is instantaneous. I'm also highly confident it is a vanilla feature, since I have seen it in many MindCrack videos in the past.

So how is this done? I'm even surprised how I missed any mention of this feature being added to Minecraft, whenever it was.

posted a message on What have you done recently?
After the pre-release of 1.7, I prepared my survival world - which I've had since 1.2.5 (April 2012) - for the changes to the terrain generation algorithm. I did so by opening my world in MCEdit, selecting an area the size of 64x64 chunks with my spawn point and base in the middle, then proceeding to delete all chunks outside this area. I've also deleted all the chunks for the Nether and the End in my world, as I wish to start fresh there. I also gave my world a proper name, Gielinor. The name comes as inspiration from RuneScape, a MMORPG I actively played from 2005 until 2011.

I haven't yet prepared for the second ender dragon fight yet, as I've mostly been working on seriously renovating my home base. The first home base I built was a big mess. Nothing was planned properly prior, and as a result all pathways and structures were inconsistent in size. I've also developed better building and landscaping skills since I first created my world. When the mess began to drive me nuts, I decided to demolish everything and build a new base from scratch with proper planning first. To do the planning, I made a copy of my survival world, and transformed said copy into a creative world. It's very handy for planning survival projects and I strongly recommend that other people try it.

Currently, my new base an area consisting of nine grass plots, which I'm not sure what to populate with just yet. I actually started with base renovations earlier this year, but found it hard to motivate myself to play Minecraft for even 30 minutes or so, until now.

Here's a screenshot summarising current progress. The image was actually a PNG, but for some reason Imgur converted it to JPG.

I think you're noticing the same bug I had.

    Try turning Load Far off?

I'm having this same problem. I already have 'load far' set to off as well. It even occurs with multicore chunk rendering turned off. I think it only affects certain hardware since there are only a few people with this issue, so no wonder why it can't be fixed easily. The issue first popped up in HD_U_D4. I had to downgrade to HD_U_D3 to fix this. Latest release (HD_U_A2 for 1.4.6) doesn't seem to have fixed the problem either. My current guess is that it is affecting users with AMD GPUs, seeing as I have a Radeon HD 7870, but there are other possibilities too.

Hi, I'm new to Minecraft and was wondering the same thing. Just to clarify, if I don't download the snapshot will the update install automatically when it comes out, and contain the stuff from the snapshot?

Yes and yes. If there is an update available, then the launcher will notify you and give you the option to update.

Snapshots are basically pre-releases, allowing Mojang to get feedback on content as well as bug fixes from the community before updates become official. Snapshots need to be manually installed, however.

Here is the lightmap I'm using in your packs. It has no flickering issues, but the only problem is that block lighting is very slightly noticable in full sunlight if you look carefully. I can't seem to fix it despite making over 100 edits to it. :(

    Ingame preview:

    The lightmap itself:

Save the image as "lightmap0.png" and create a folder named "environment" in the texture pack archive (if the folder doesn't exist yet), then place the saved image in that folder.

You'll also need MCPatcher or OptiFine installed for custom colours to function.

You didn't even create this client, nor does the official download for it come as an exe, the official download comes as a modified minecraft.jar I've seen (on another forum).

    Sooo, high chance it's infected.

posted a message on Poll Bug?
Well, I'm trying to cast my vote in a poll on this thread, but it keeps telling me I must answer every question of the poll, when I already have. I've tried doing it three times now... :Skeleton:
