    Also, I have a suggestion. Before Beta 1.8, your arm would swing slower when left-clicking, and you could swing your arm in mid-air by holding the mouse button down instead of repeatedly clicking. Could you add this to OldDays?

    posted a message on Ghasts spawning too quickly in the Nether now?
    In my main survival world, the area in front of the sheltered portal in the Nether has like 10-15 ghasts flying around. The last time I left the Nether before this started happening, there were no ghasts. Usually 1-2 would spawn occasionally, but were easy to kill. One day I went back to the Nether to get some more glowstone, only to find that there were over 10 Ghasts flying around which was strange. And the worst part is: no matter how many I kill (even with a bow), more rapidly spawn in the same area.

    if I don't find a solution to the rapid spawning, I'm going to have to build a covered corridor. Which will be a pain since there's a covered-up lava flow near the shelter.

    Java 7 isn't the latest version Oracle recommends yet.

    As Mahicool said before, Oracle still need to fix all the bugs present in Java 7 before it can be considered the 'official' recommended version. So for now, I'm sticking with Java 6.

    On most Minecraft servers I join, the ping is usually ove 800. I live in Australia (Perth, Western Australia to be exact), and Minecraft is the most laggiest game I play. A typical US server in Minecraft might give me a ping of over 1k, whereas a US server in another game will usually have a ping of 300 (around half), even of the server uses good hardware and a good connection for enough players. I have seen other people in Australia who play with lower ping than me on most servers. In fact one of them has a connection about three times worse than mine, and in his videos I have seen him with lower ping still (my speeds are: 5Mbps down, about 0.5-1mbps up). I can tell because he doesn't seem to have to put up with the laggy player movement that I have to in SMP. Oddly that this also doesn't occur in Minecraft Classic too.

    So why is my ping so higher than it should be? Is it poor networking code? Am I the only one living with this? It feels like I am...

    So I'm building a piston-based digital clock, smaller and more modular than my previous. I finished the first seconds digit and memory, and was trying to get WorldEdit to copy and paste properly. But I couldn't work out copying and pasting (wasn't working for some reason), so I tried using //stack. I ended up duplicating another display a few blocks into the first, and that pretty much 'shorted' part of the circuit, causing the memory to misalign, so I undid the mistake and tried to 'reprogram' the piston memory, and now there's always one piston that will NEVER move if it has a block ajacent to it's face.
    :(

    I even looked back on my previous clock to see if I might have missed anything, and even tried rebuilding an isolated copy from scratch somewhere nearby, as in the picture:



    I had this problem before, with the last few memory arrays for my other clock, but that was fixed by adding pulse limiters to the carry-out lines. I added pulse limiters to this second project, but then realised that pulse limiters can't emit a pulse every second, and so they should only be added to the carry-out lines. it's like every 1.2 seconds the minimum they can emit pulses. :(

    posted a message on Piston tape/ring counter not working
    So I'm working in a digital clock, and I've found the whole process sounds a lot simpler now that we have pistons. I've done the first digit, and it cycles from 0-9 properly, and resets. But I went to add another ring counter next to the first, and during a test run to see if the timing is correct, the top pistons with blocks underneath themaren't moving, it's like they're jammed. How do I fix this? the first ring counter isn't having this problem...

    also, the other piston in this second ring counter are cycling blocks fine, it's just the pistons that are facing downwards that don't work.

    Woot, the update progress is now 80%. Was at 40% for over 24 hours.

    Luckily I can live without OptiFine for a few days. I'm getting over 200 FPS on fast graphics, and normal render distance. But I miss being able to configure almost every graphical feature though.

    I'd also like to see a configurable sign text rendering distance. SpoutCraft has this feature, and it greatly reduces lag in areas with a lot of signs in SMP (like the spawn). But it would be nice to implement into OptiFine itself. :)

    Not to metion you removed part of my qoute which also sets off another red flag. You and I both know its infected because if it wasn't how is it as soon as I downloaded it my anti virus pops up, then when I tried to scan it with an online virus scan not to mention on my shell OS I cant even open it. Hmm whats the saying if it sounds and looks like a virus then its a virus.

    I myself was going to scan the file on virustotal.com, but the website went down during the middle of the download.

    The installation process for such is already simple though. You replace the original minecraft.jar with the modified one.
