    Not sure what is causing this but we seem to have far to many villagers in our village. We have been extending the village and are aware that for every 3 doors we put in we get a new villager, but this is more than that. We appear to have something like 10+ villagers per property even when we have deliberately removed doors or built properties without them.
    The world we are using was originally generated as a single player world and copied over as a clean untouched world to be a multiplayer world. It is a vanilla server with only 4 of us playing at any one time. Any ideas as to whats happening?

    I'm sure Ive read somewhere that you can use a single player seed in a multiplayer game, but I cannot find any info on this. Can anyone point me in the right direction or tell me how to go about it please?

    Yes I get this problem too. Never had it before they updated the forums. So I guess we should tell them :)

    Last I heard was that it was not going to be developed any longer for the foreseeable future. At least not by the original designer. I believe there was someone who was seeking permission to continue its development but not sure where that stands.

    Ive used this mod several updates. Ive never downloaded a texture pack with it. As far as I know none is included.

    I should say play unassisted. He had been playing minecraft quite happily today. Sometime during the afternoon he said his plane was not working. I just assumed he meant he couldn't get it to fly. But no he really did mean it wasn't working. I had several mods working quite happily together. For reasons beyond me he had restarted the game. Not an unusual thing for him to do. But on this occasion he had found a couple of extra buttons to play with as the game loaded. Not being aware of this I had no idea what he had done. More to the point I had no idea that version 1.1 had come out while he was playing. Im guessing you know where this is headed? Yes he had successfully upgrade the game for me. Oh well one things for certain. Even a child can upgrade the game without problems :smile.gif:

    Thanks guys. Ive never patched a smpserver before (used to use bukkit in beta) so I seemed to have been missing key info. But thanks to you all Ive now got it working. Thanks again.

    Incase you ever want to install any other mods aswell, it specifically states what mods must be applied to the server and to the client before adding the patches for server and client in a "spoiler" tag at the end of each mod listed. Check to see you have those mods installed, and installed in the order they are listed.


    Ok not sure if I have this right or not. So far I have added superslopes (the one from author) into my client mod folder (windows pc). That works ok in single player. Now on linux server I have added modloadermp into minecraft-server.jar. That works. I have now added the server patch to server mods folder. That now also works. Which leaves me with your patch for the client. I have added that to the client mods folder as that is where I have the single player version of superslopes. However when I now try to access the game in multiplayer mode I get the following error message:

    Internal exception: java.i.o.IOException: Bad packet id 230

    At that point it refuses to continue to run. Any idea what Ive missed or done wrong? Question. Do I need to also add the modloadermp file to the client? As that is what your reply suggests

    Looking for some help. First off Im assuming that the mods here are for default smpservers and not bukkit servers? If its for bukkit then that will answer my problem but not solve it. Im running a default smpserver and want to run the superslopes on it. Superslopes works ok in single player mode so no problem there. I installed the modloadermp and ran that first on the server - that worked ok. Correct me if Im wrong but to add the mod, all I need to do is copy the contents of the superslopes file into the minecraft-server.jar right? Ive done that but then when I try to run the game I get modloader erros and the game refuses to go any further. Can anyone explain what Im doing wrong please?

    edit: I should have added that I am running the server on a linux box with java 6 installed

    I don't think its really a issue. Since most of the time I have enough money to buy most stuff that iron is needed for. Doing diamonds would be a little OP.

    Also I kind of don't like the mining system.

    For one you can only have 1 person mining at a time, if you try to right click another one the first one stops and it digs another quarry.

    The range that they "throw" cobble at you is kind of weird. I was out of my mine and above ground and he was still tossing cobble at me.

    One suggestion I have is make a Tier 1 upgrade for Quarry/Mineshaft where you can send NPCs to mine. I would think having them mine into a chest is possible but not sure.


    Just my penny thoughts. Dropping the stone into a chest would certainly be beneficial however it depends on where the chest is as to whether it would be lost on upgrade.
    Also has the miner been slown down? I note that from 1.1.0 to 1.1.1 the speed at which he is mining is very different - much slower.

    He disappeared on me for a while too. But after logging out and in a couple of times he reappeared.
