posted a message on Unreal biomes: A mod that would add strange, extreme and lethal exotic biomes.

    Unreal Biomes

First of all, sorry for any potential spelling or grammar mistakes. If something is difficult to understand, please, let me know and I will modify or clarify it in comments.
I will try to correct and improve the writing in future editions (as well as add more content to the idea).

    .

This is an idea for a mod that would add a large number of biomes, most of them very strange or extreme, others would be practically uninhabitable, death traps.

The biomes or groups of biomes available would be selectable in the mod's config, mod options, or in world generation options (through the world creation screen).
Thus the player can select the biomes or groups of biomes that he prefers to play, or remove those biomes that he does not like.

There should be also an world type configuration option for play these biomes in addition to biomes o'plenty.

    .

Of course, I do not have any knowledge of modding (nor possibility of learning), which is why I go to this place to ask for help or give the idea and the authority of this to someone or some team who is capable of doing it, although I can help in the creation of new textures (if necessary) and try to participate in the modeling (if there are new models to add) and creation of some structure archives.

The version to make this mod would be the one that best suits the modder or modders (probably 1.12.X or 1.16.X, maybe i'm wrong). It will be developed in Forge or Fabric depending on what the modder or modders prefer, although I would like it to have at least some version in forge, but I will be satisfied that this mod at least exists.

If you are interested in this mod idea and want to collaborate but have no modding idea (like, sadly, I do), you can participate by suggesting ideas for new biomes, blocks or mobs that will be reviewed and added if they really fit, or collaborate on the construction of textures, models or structure files.
You can join this Discord ( https://discord.gg/T2JNHcgS ) to stay on the news of the development of the mod or participate in its development.

    .

Biomes added by this mod can be grouped into three categories:

    Weird biomes:
Very strange biomes, practically surreal. For example, forests of giants axes that grows like trees.
Or seas with water masses that floats in the air. Or fractal mountains with cubic and straight (almost artificial) shapes.
Or deserts whose dunes are shaped like human faces. Or infinite ruined cities of Escher style. Or forests with colossal trees...

These biomes would not be dangerous per se (in initial mod's versions). These would be more focused on aesthetics, they would be places of fantasy, with a dreamlike environment.

    Extreme biomes:
Farlander biomes or extreme biomes would be biomes that would have very "unusual" and extreme reliefs, or very extreme conditions, making their occupation possible by the players, but difficult, and making the journey difficult for those who travel here.

An extreme biome would be, for example, one in the style of the template "mountains of madness", full of unscalable mountains and huge caves full of monsters spawning.
Another example would be a "Caver's Delight" style biome, with mountains overlapping in layers.
    Or a 'farland' biome.

In other words, extreme or far biomes would be biomes with very problematic relief.

    Lethal biomes:
Lethal biomes would be practically uninhabitable biomes, very difficult to overcome. They would be practically deadly traps for those unwary, or perhaps foolish, who dare to cross them.
    Examples:
Deathlands (where the sun incinerates), poisonous forests (where almost all plants are poisonous on contact), nuclear wastelands (with stacked irradiation that can kill you), etc.

List of biomes (many biomes are yet upcoming).

Please wait for the spoilers to load.

    Weird biomes:

Weird biomes would have surreal, senseless, dream-like environtments.
In some cases I am inspired by surreal and fantasy artwork.

    - Forest of axes:
A forest of special trees that are actually giant stone axes. They are not trees themselves (they cannot be renovated) but structures. It is possible to find "fallen axes", stumps and cut logs along the way.
Mobs like zombies and skeletons are spawned here always carrying an axe. There are no bows or shovels.

    - Water palaces:
An aquatic biome full of strange static water block structures, forming things like castles and gaps.
I must further refine this idea.

    - Wailing desert:
A desert whose dunes have the shapes of giant human faces (actually they would be composite structures).

    - Sea of stairs:
A sea full of spiral senseless staircases that plunge to the bottom, and rise to the limit of vertical generation. Some staircasses are ruined.

    - Menger forest:
A forest full of shrubs and trees shaped like small fractal Menger cubes, that is, Menger cube shaped structures made by blocks of random oak trunks and leaves.

    - Upcoming.

    Extreme biomes:

Extreme biomes would have almost unbearable reliefs.
I'm mostly inspired by old custom world minecraft presets, but these would actually be imitator biomes generated in a normal world. I'll try to suggest less "copy-like" stuff in future updates, or remove some of these biome ideas.

    - Islelands:
A forest or multibiome based biome with a relief similar to that of Isle Land world preset.

    - Speleotopy:
A spruce forest or multibiome based biome with a relief similar to that of Caver's Delight world preset.

    - Mountains of Madness:
A extreme hills based biome with a relief similar to that of Mountain Madness world preset.

    - Cavelands:
A extreme hills based biome with a relief similar to that of Caves of Chaos world preset.

    - Farlands:
A forest or multibiome based biome with a relief similar to that of classical old farlands, but not the buggy features.

    - Upcoming.

    Lethal biomes:

Lethal biomes are designed to be almost uninhabitable, and difficult to cross (difficult to surviving).
    Are like giant deadly traps.

    - Deathlands:
A special desert or wasteland, with crystallized sand patches.
Here, during the day, the intense sunlight is able to burn any player, mob and fuel block (any tree), and to destroy plant blocks and transform grass into dirt.

    - The frost:
A forest-like biome ... but all life is frozen (new blocks "frozen leaves and wood" are required, which are like leaves and wood trapped inside blocks of ice).
Here you can find beautiful structures of normal ice, blue ice, or normal ice. But do not stay long, because here the storms are frequent... and brutal.
The blizzard will slow down the player more and more, and will begin to deal damage to him in shorter and shorter intervals... until this dies.

    - Poisonous biomes
Biomes plenty of poisonous plants and fungus that causes poisoning on contact, and even with poisonous lakes and mists.
    - Poisonous jungle.
    - Poisonous forest.
    - Poisonous swamps.

    - Radioactive biomes
Biomes with natural irradiation. If the players stays here too long, this will die suddenly.
    - Radioactive wastelands.
    - Black forest (chernobyl-like biome).
    - Radiotrophic plains (plains with a fungal radiotrophic lifeform).

    - Corrosive biomes
Biomes with acid lakes and natural corrosive rain that can damage entities.
    - Sulfur plains.
    - Garnet forest.
    - Devoured mountains.

    - Volcanic biomes
Biomes with ash plains, lava lakes and charred blocks. Here rains incandescent ashes sometimes.
    - Volcanic mountains.
    - Volcanic plains.
    - Volcanic desert.

    Thorny biomes
Biomes plenty of thorny vegetation that causes damage on contact.
    - Thorny forest.
    - White rosebush plains.
    - Bramblelands (swamp-like biome).(edited)

    - Upcoming.

    ______________________________________________

    New weathers.

Please wait for the spoilers to load.

Some biomes would have exotic climates.

    - Corrosive rain:
a brown-yellowish rain would fall on some lethal biomes. This rain can cause damage to exposed mobs.

    - Incandescent ash rain:
fire particles would fall on some volcanic-themed biomes. This rain will set exposed burnable blocks, mobs and players on fire.

    - Reversed rain:
a common rain, but it (the animation) falls from the ground to the sky. This is an aesthetic special weather for some weird biomes.

    - Upcoming.

Details about new mobs, plants and structures are also under building.

    Upcoming.
