You could probably run The Archives' server as a private server, with the batch file set to also run a WoM client modified to load the server at the default port on localhost.
I know it's possible to modify the WoM client, but I'm not sure where you'd get a download of The Archives' server.
I used to use Firefox, but started using Chrome because I had a session of nearly 100 tabs set to open with it :tongue.gif:
I've never had any reason to go back - mainly because you can kill tabs without losing them, and instantly regain resources.
As for Minecraft, I always use WoM (with and without hacks), because even running Chrome it's slow and laggy (and not fullscreen).
Connecting to the server via a client on the same machine works perfectly fine for me - just keep in mind that you need to use the external link, not the play.jsp?ip=x.x.x.x&port=xxxxx
Did you change the port of your BitTorrent client or the server? It may be the case that other clients are still trying to connect to the client on the same port, an issue I also used to have.
The same thing happened to me when I used the same port I used for BitTorrent, change to a port you don't usually use and you won't get those messages.

WoM has a screenshot button, by the way.
And you don't have to use hacks to use WoM! It's still a great way to play MC in full screen without lagging your browser.
