posted a message on Building Maps for People

Okay, since I've ran out of map ideas I guess I'll go and build some maps for people.

    Some required information:

Title - Title of the map. Self-explanatory.

Type - What kind of map will it be? I'm best at CTM/survival maps, but any kind works.

Playtime - How long will the map be? I'd prefer shorter maps, because I don't have the time to build huge ones.

Theme - A theme. Like water, or grass, or death.

Progression Type - How to progress. Should it be linear, or an open world, or an intersection-based map?

Comment below. Or not, that's your choice.

Oh, and I also have a WIP map called "Chaotic Caverns", you can check that out here:

    Bump.

PM me if you'd like to beta-test, but be aware that right now it isn't very balanced.

No longer being developed. It was fun while it lasted.

posted a message on Players like me are are getting increasingly rare

Mods are great, but for the most part I've also played unmodded Minecraft. I've started some map projects, and I've got a CTM map that's been in development for like a year. It's dragging on really long though....MAP MAKING IS HARD

posted a message on First skin on Minecraft

The first skin was probably a black surface that was intended to be a placeholder, but I guess you could say that wasn't really a skin.

Other than that, there's the "Smiling Steve", but you could say that wasn't a skin either because it was default.

The first player-specific skin was probably Notch's skin.

I also like the new rain sounds, they're much less annoying and a little bit lighter. Before when it started raining, it was just an annoying sound effect and I usually just went caving for a bit. Slightly less annoying now.

A few other sound effects changed too, but I don't really care about those.

posted a message on How often do you use peaceful mode in survival?

I've basically never used peaceful in a survival world that I actually care about, because Minecraft isn't such a hard game, really. As long as you play adequately safe, you shouldn't have soul-crushing defeats. But hey, sometimes I do something stupid and I lose my stuff. Still not setting it to peaceful, though.

On creative worlds, I will usually set it to peaceful because mobs get in the way of building and stuff like that, so yeah.

posted a message on what was the last videogame you beat

In the past month or so I've only played unbeatable games (Minecraft, DotA/LoL, MMO's, etc.) so I guess it's Undertale?

My favourite soundtrack is Undertale, and it's been mentioned a few times before. That's because it's awesome.

These maps are intriguing. The aesthetics for the first one seem decent, however it seems really random and looks like one of those nearly impossible hardcore maps. I can't really tell where the "fun path" is either. The second one's aesthetics are, to put it bluntly, awful, but I like the concept. If you end up releasing the maps, I'd write a review for them if you'd like. :)

The first one is supposed to be a bit random, it is named "Chaotic Caverns" after all.
I have added some more structured buildings near the end, though. The second map... well, that's the harder of the two. They are terrible aesthetics, but that's because despite being a puzzle map, there are no limitations on placing/breaking blocks, so almost everything is bedrock. Also, don't worry about the difficulty. At it's current state, I can beat it with ease.

I'm reposting this whole thing here because it didn't get any attention:

Anybody got feedback on some CTM maps I plan on releasing, under the series name Insanity Realm? I'm currently about half-way through my first full-length CTM map, Chaotic Caverns, and I have a completed 5-wool minimap (Insanity Trolled) and a incomplete 3-wool minimap (Death's Dance). Chaotic Caverns is a typical, fight the mobs and get the wool sort of CTM. Insanity Trolled has very little focus on monsters, and more on a puzzle/parkour hybrid where you get a limited amount of blocks and you have to use them wisely to not run out.
    I have some pictures below:

Pictures of Chaotic Caverns (CTM map #01):

A crystalline quarry, full of water and lava.

The very first area of the map, giving you a pickaxe, apples, and armour, but no wood or swords.

A crazy floating block area of madness, with a dungeon full of ghast, blaze, and skeleton spawners.

A deadly lava pit, with ghasts and redstone.

And now some pictures of Insanity Trolled: (Mini-CTM #01)

Insanity Trolled is a lot of bedrock. And signs. Don't worry, you will get your daily dose of taunts when playing my maps.

A general overview of the map.

The same view, but at dusk. Or is it dawn? I can't tell them apart. Oh well.

Well, those are my maps. Of course, you need to know the resources I give the player to really judge my map (Because gameplay > aesthetics.)

    Why are you reading this?

posted a message on (sort of) New Village

Dayum those are some sweet pictures! Really nice church, the stained glass really set its mood. The wooden houses could use some wall detail, though. The traces from the original village are still there, and it's a bit obvious on the third picture. Maybe work on a mine? Overall, quite a nice build!
