BigDirty1985 posted a message on PrimalCore: Early Game Survival, Expanded Nether, Monsters and MysteryPosted in: Minecraft ModsHey I just wanted to say thanks for making this mod i had attempted to make something a few years back that was extremely similar but at the time i just wasn't a good enough modder. you can see it here.My Mod.
any way this mod has 90 percent of the stuff from my mod plus way more! some people might be mad and say you copied their ideas but i just want to thank you for doing what i couldn't. its almost perfectly what i was going for.all the way down to breaking flint on rocks. I still haven't done everything there is to do. Anyway if it was all your idea then I'm glad someone else thinks like me. and if you drew some inspiration from my abandoned mod then thanks for bringing one of my dreams to life. Either way peace and keep updating it because its one of my new favorites.

Dulciphi posted a message on PrimalCore: Early Game Survival, Expanded Nether, Monsters and MysteryPosted in: Minecraft ModsThis mod is amazing, thank you. I'm playing in 1.12.1 (PrimalCore-1.12.1-0.5.8 and Kitsu's ForgeCraft-1.3.21) and very keen to get into it. I'm just currently stuck on the time issue.
I've doubled the day length to 48000 ticks in a day using Primal Core. This is is my result
This means that, even though the Minecraft clock tells me it's sunset, the actual time on the clock says 8:48am.
I was used to playing with Hard Mode Tweaks by Hea3veN in 1.7.10. Back then, even though the MC clock was askew, the Bibliocraft clock and InGameInfo's clock worked off sun position, so it was able to give us a perfect indication of what time it actually was - even when we were underground.
What I'm looking for is some way to tell the solar time (ie a clock that says 12:00 when the sun is in the middle of the sky and 24:00 when the moon is in the middle of the sky). Is there something that can adjust the below diagram accordingly to allow for 48000 ticks in a day?

Soul Shards allows you to create a Soul Shard that absorbs the souls of monsters you kill to be inserted into a Soul Cage later. This Soul Cage is a special block that can spawn the type of mob your Soul Shard contains.
This mod's cages can spawn monsters you can't normally get with vanilla spawners.
Spotlight
Overview
Short instructions are simple. You break vanilla spawners you find in the world to get "Crystalized Soul Essence" look up uses for this item in NEI.
You get the shards by killing mobs with the shadow blade (you require Crystalized Soul Essence in your inventory to get a shard).
The shards are permenant, but you need a CSE for every cage you build.
Right click a cage with your shard to set it's type. Cages can be powered off by providing a redstone signal.
Instructions
1) Install forge
2) Place the mod zip in your mods folder
Changelog:2.0.15:
- Fixed a crash bug involving harvesting the cage after unloading the chunk and reloading it
2.0.14:
- Fixed a crash bug involving explosions
2.0.13:
- Removed soul shard debug recipe
- Cages now remember the type they were when harvested. You can't change them once typed
- Removed blank soul shard from creative to prevent bug reports that aren't actual bugs
- Slaved for hours over ridiculous problems that ended up being solved by adding 1 line of code
2.0.10:
- Fixed build system
- Fixed version
- Fixed missing mcmod.info
- Properly naming jar
- Fixed soul cage hardness
- Fixed redstone signal not working on soul cage

I'm starting to playtest this mod for possible future pack development and I've helped set up the page on the FTB Wiki for documenting as I go. Putting that out there for anyone more experienced in the mod than I who might want to pitch in!

ZergMazter posted a message on [WIP] Kitsu's ForgeCraft: Blacksmith Style Forging! Porting to 1.10.2Posted in: WIP ModsI hope this mod doesn't die. It's been a little quiet lately. I have a request if it's not too much to ask. I love making clay stuff , and baking it. It would be nice if all the vanilla clay recipes could be added to your mod, so that they were made just like your crucible.
What I mean is to make a raw pot for example, put it on top of one of those thingies of yours, and have them cook right in the open, that way vanilla ceramics can fit in the theme of your mod which I love very much.
There are clay pots, bowls, buckets (not sure if that's a separate mod). There are only a hand full of clay mods out there, so this would be supplying for a much needed functionality that is almost non-existent. There is just something special about finding that mud, shaping it, and cooking for you to use. Big reward feeling.

PrimalCore is a survival mod with focus on early game mechanics, primitive technology, and making the world a harder and less forgiving place.
The default configuration effects many of the first steps a player will take, such as replacing wooden and stone tools with flaked flint, changing the harvesting and crafting for items such as wooden logs, planks, and slabs to require the use of tools, and adding new threats and resources to the world in the form of worldgen and monsters. Every major feature can be configured or disabled, compatibility is a primary focus, feedback on how well we play with other mods is greatly appreciated!

The mod is currently a work in progress, with the first stages of a custom crafting tree, new animals, mobs, a variety of plants, and ores. Resource gathering and exploration is a key component as several key features of the worldgen are intended to be very rare. Early development has focused greatly on building the base resources and environments that will be used in the later crafting stages.
The overall theme is aimed at a blend of alchemy and a more primitive earth science, while trying to keep the game play
grounded in a survival themed world that is experienced as much as it can be controlled or shaped.

Mod Highlights:
Blocks & Worldgen
Maize - this plant takes a while to cultivate but will ultimately yield an abundant food source, edible both raw and baked as bread.
Ironwood - a rare tree with exceptionally strong wood, in it’s natural environment ironwood can be found accompanied by Old Man’s Beard, an equally rare hanging moss.
Nether Creep - one of many plant species found in the nether, this vine-like moss spreads across flat surfaces and will snare unsuspecting creatures as if it were web.
Pitted Oven - a multi-purpose furnace that allows standard cooking as well as several specialized recipes...
Moon Phase Detector - this device emits light and a redstone signal proportional to the strength of the moon, provided it has a clear view of the sky.
Tools & Weapons
Flint Tools - basic early game tools, crafted with sticks, flint and leather cordage.
Work Blade - both a weapon and a utility blade, this tool provides some unique crafting, such as breaking fences down into sticks. Useful if you’ve become lost in an abandoned mineshaft without any torches.
Mallet - also known as the Gallagher, the mallet is a weapon and crafting tool, useful for smashing items and mobs alike. In accordance with it’s nickname you can harvest melons and pumpkins with increased efficiency.
Leather Chest - this strange object acts like a common death chest, however it is somewhat fickle, if the chest cannot find a safe place to land it will drop as a normal item and sing a bar from Fifteen Men On The Dead Man's Chest, a fictional song from Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson.
Animals & Monsters
Horde Spider - small biome specialized spiders that will attack anything they come across. Clusters of their eggs can be found in caves and shallow recesses beyond the light of day.
Nether Sheep - the mostly docile, entirely fireproof, surprisingly spry, denizens of the nether. Their anti-allergenic wool is prized for its unique properties.
Hungry Pigmen - these pigmen have been driven mad with a disease-like hunger, they will attack players without provocation and have even been known to attack their own kind. Unfortunately they look just like regular pigmen, until it’s too late.
