I have now found one of the most boring things to do in Minecraft. Manually farm zombies for their rotten flesh because you are nearly starving. I think it's second only to mining cobblestone.

Just copy the fast leaf texture over to the fancy leaf texture, using Gimp or Photoshop.

    This.

Or get OptiFine. It has options that allow you to do such a thing (I know, I prefer fancy grass with normal leaves too). It also reduces lag, has HD support, and a bunch of other features.

    You can find it here.

I'm trying out your maps Vechs after watching Etho's OOGE playthrough of spellbound caves. I'm trying out Infernal Sky II, after ragequiting Sea of Flame II twice. I've died a total of two times so far. First happened when a creeper exploded over that one spot in the large sandy area on the first island. I'm SURE you know what I'm talking about. Lost the Zistonian Battlesign II there. Second one occurred when a skeleton shot me from my cobble bridge between two of the ships in the Armada area. Lost the first Battlesign you get there. So now I'm trying to hunt down some iron. Good news is, I'm not nearly as afraid of mobs now. The 1.2 update for Minecraft is going to be fun though. New mob AI. *shudders*

I've seen it before, so I knew what to expect. The first time scared me half to death. That one was in Chinese/Japanese though, so I turned off of my sound and read this one through. It's still pretty freaky though.

So, I am starting to have the invisible chunks/blocks thing happen to me. Is there any way to make it stop if my "gpu" doesn't have a "Threaded Optimization" option in its settings?

EDIT: I also tried the VSync option, it just decreased my FPS by about 8-10.

This may be a bit harsh to some, but some of you that are trying to just get the textures done aren't really helping by having what I'll put nicely as "cut-copy-paste-save" textures. What I mean is I want you took take a good look at almost every one of the original textures that have any vague co-existence with what you're trying to texture and see if it really fits. What I did on my fail of a run making jungle leaves was repeatedly zoom out and in on the other leaves to see if the flow and shading meshes with what Ovo would want. Sure I'm what seems like barking orders and doing nothing myself, but that's just because I can see the potential in a lot of you to do something that would truly feel like what Ovo would have wanted. If you DO think you finished a texture, look again and again until you are sure it can at the very least look presentable enough for a once over by the other members of the continuation here. This isn't about who gets the most textures or who can make their own versions drastically different from the core.

Hate to have to say this to the many people on here that might one day be an amazing artist ~Anti

I agree. To take my own work as an example, look at my slimeballs. They are a good texture and they look ok, but they didn't really match the pack that much until the "dusty" slimeball. I'm not quite sure how to explain it, but I think it may be that my color choice and the shading set them out too much. My second enchanting table as well, I just recolored the corners and did some fancy cut and pasting with Gl0u0m's enchanting table. Its not really a nice table in itself and it doesn't feel like Ovo. My second attempt was much better, because I decided to 1. not just recolor the corners, and 2. actually base the corners off of the colors and design of the diamond block, making a much better texture (still not perfect, though). I think that most people don't really do this, however, is that often there are not any textures that are similar to the one you are trying to make, forcing you to try and guess what Ovo would make, which generally turns into something that looks only faintly like Ovo's work (my slimeballs)

By this point, I'm not exactly sure what's happening in this reply, so I'll stop it here. See you all later, hopefully with some more (and better) textures! ~Ambi

Hello guys. A few more textures for you! I made two versions of magma cream (both for the smoother version of my new slimeballs, will make the rougher versions if anybody wants them). I also took a shot at making that "dusty" slimeball (no magma cream for it yet). What do you think of them?

EDIT: @Suppee: I love how you decided to put the enchantment table I like least in your edit!

What paint program do you use? Z-Brush, Photoshop, Pain.net, Gimp, etc.

I use Gimp. I find it easy to use, with all of the cool features one would want in a paint program. Only annoying part is the lack of an autosave feature, but I can live with that (most of the time, at least).

I didn't say it looks similar, I said it REMINDED me of sphax. They're both cartoon-based, so that's probably the similarity I see.Remember, that's just me. Maybe adding a sort of dusty layer to the slimeballs? Say, is ovo just ovo, or ovoecean?

Oh. Uh. Well then, I apologize for that.

Making the slimeballs appear dusty may take awhile, though I think I know what I would have to do: Wash the base texture out some, make the "shine" more diffuse and less pinpointy, and possibly change the shadow a little. I'll look into it.

uummm... your slimeballs remind me of sphax.

Really? They are in the same basic style as my other one, just with a different shading. I didn't copy them if that's what your insinuating, and I've never seen the sphax slimeball. I'll be right back, while I go check it out.

EDIT: Are you sure your talking about the right pack? These look nothing like Sphax's.

Hello guys, I'm back. its been awhile. I've been away from my computer for the last few days, so I havn't been making any textures. I do have a couple of new slimeball textures, though. They are mostly the same, one just has faint lines on it, in an attempt to make it look slightly rougher. What do you think?

    Quote from AishaLove

Also the coal, and powders/dusts all look kinda cartooky like a 5yo drew them to me, they don't match the overall look of the pack to me.

Oh also I really like the round egg shaped diamond better then a gem shaped one, I don't know about you but I don't get raw diamonds from the ground pre-cut.

I like the powders and dusts, though I think they need to be a bit more substantial really (bigger piles), and the "sparks" on the redstone dust look slightly strange ingame, not too bad, you get used to it, but still. As for the diamond, I was thinking that a rough rectangular shape would fit, using the diamond ore as a basis for shape and color.

would this work wih the new snapshot? or is it incompatible

Nope, I wish Mojang wouldn't change the obfuscation for snapshots. They didn't use to for the 1.8 and 1.9 pre-releases (at least some of them).

Yes we know: It doesn't because Optifine depends on Minecraft Coder Pack, which isn't updated to every little snapshot because it's a massive workload. Cool Cuneiform btw, is there a font for that downloadable somewhere? :wink.gif:

I was just wondering because I remember that Mojang often didn't change the obfuscation codes for the prereleases. It doesn't anyway, all the files are correctly named, but the insides must be different. Oh well.

The font is actually the dragon font from Skyrim, you can find it here, about halfway down the page.

Thank you, but I actually don't own a tablet or even photoshop. (Gimp's the best I have) So it's really hard for me to make new content.

Same here. Although, I like GIMP better than Photoshop. I'm terrible at making new content from scratch. I can do it if I have some form of inspiration or another version of the same thing, but from scratch isn't my thing at all. You might try some items, they seem to be fairly easy to make, being so small.
