    Apologies to everyone who was hoping that I would finish this, but my circumstances have changed, leaving me with less free time, and one of the things I have given up is minecraft modding. If I ever do return to modding I may work on this one, but it will not be any time soon.

    I'm not sure I understand the difference. In game it seems they work like I want them to though (if I hold a brighstone sword they run to attack me).


    When there is only 1 player, they are effectively the same. When there are multiple players in range the new method will choose the nearest, but then if it doesn't have the sword active, it just won't attack it, even if the further player does have the sword out.

    Glad you seem to have got this sorted, but for future reference it may be easier to make your IRecipe a wrapper, that way you can just delegate each method to wrappedRecipe.method() and just add your own logic for the matches method. Then if you want to make the recipe shapeless or shaped, or even use another type you just have to pass in the different recipe.

    Yes, that would work. As long as the player meets the requirements for keeping the GUI open (which are normally a check that the block exists and is in range). I assume AE uses a check to ensure the held item is a wireless terminal and that the network transmitter is close enough. Those are the bits you would have to get around and handle for every GUI.


    And that still doesn't mean that the GUI can be automated, just viewed from elsewhere.

    Using hacky workarounds you could get the GUI to work for the client to interact with it, but you could not automate it, because it simply doesn't exist server-side. And even if it did, you would have to add support for every single GUI in every single mod.
