Hey, what language are you using? I recommend using scratch to start off due to the fact that it is actually code based unlink other game making software such as Game Maker, also you can embed them on websites really easily.
Next, once that has been mastered I recommend moving to something more advanced such as c++. Languages such as c++ are not easy to learn, so don't be discouraged!
