Oh boy, PoD? haven't even heard anyone mention that since windows 95!
Too bad people forget what it means...
PoD = sending a packet larger than the maximum size (65,536 bytes) to another person. It would crash their intarwebs for some time due to a memory overflow. It's been fixed for a LONG time now.
What AliStarr is referencing is DoSing (or could be DDoSing if he has a network)

Basically its a hundred thousand pings every second until your servers commit suicide. a 17 yr old kid took down Google and Yahoo in one go with it. I recommend you disable ping requests to where ever your database is located.
can your server handle 100,000 x 32bits of data every second? I think not.
if you want better Graphics then download a texture pack. they make it look prettier but IMO I think the 16bit graphics make the game. its cool. old school. and I think my laptop would commit suicide if it had better graphics ;D

I got really far down and found heaps of ores, it was great! until I fell through a hole and landed in a shaft about 30 blocks deep. again. NO TOOLS.
