I just finished my C&B oil rig today! Check it out: http://imgur.com/gallery/8dO5R

Quite snazzy, always pushing the envelope aren't you? Hehe.

I always have some fun trying to pick out where people have used other decoration mods or C&B, and you really pulled out all the stops on that, having to look really close to see if something is C&B or another mod that adds different furniture or items. Good stuff.

As always its quite impressive to see something that detailed at such a scale.

Has the update for 1.12 pass the testing phase yet?

Unfortunately I need to re-visit the changes after the recommended build for forge came out which will take more time, its primarily the reason that there's been no developments on that front, that some some other bugs being reported.

I've updated Flat Colored Blocks over that hurdle already, but C&B is considerably more complicated, but hopefully once I find some time I'll be able to knock out the changes and testing in one go.

Hang in there in the mean time, Its coming just been a bit delayed.

Is it possible to chisel the flat coloured blocks to bits aswell? Or can i colour the bits form chisel? For example i like to have white glowstone bits how can i get them?

Chisels and Bits and Flat Colored Blocks work very well together, you should just try to use the chisel with whatever you want, it might work.

Last time I checked it worked with chisel blocks as well, thought it doesn't support the connected textures aspect.

Any word on when this will be updated to 1.12?

Soon, Flat Colored Blocks, Ambidextrious are already released for 1.12, and the the port for C&B is already done, but I need to test it before I release it. So sometime this week is quite likely.

I'm willingly to script it back into the game format if only someone points me to a template of what that format should be, or where I could find it or even look for it.

First a minor addendum to my previous statement, since I noticed that Phylogeny and I saw your question as two completely different things now.

I believe Phylogeny thinks you are talking about the models as models, used for blocks / items in mod or resource pack development.

Where as I was thinking you meant re-importing the model into C&B to use as a custom block.

If you only want to use it as a model, like Phylogeny suggests, the json format works fine, and you can make use of that.

If you intend to try and re-import a model into C&B however, that is another matter, since C&B is voxel data. You'd need to make a mod of some effect to create new voxel data in game from your import source. The API supports this. The format used by C&B isn't documented, but the code to handle the format is open source and available on the github.

Hi there, I'm new to this mod but I build 3D models outside of minecraft. Is there any way we can export C&B models into a file that we can analyse and modify externally and then import back into minecraft?

While Phylogeny is right about the exporting, there is no means to re-import.

    Just a question.

Is there currently a way to push chiseled blocks around?

I have tried with pistons but that does not work.

Only if you have a mod that allows moving tile entities around, such as frames, or a piston mod that changes pistons.

Is there currently/will there be, an ability to chisel a crafting table and still have it work as a crafting table? (same goes for other utility blocks like anvils and such) and if not can I request that be added please, would be very useful, thnx.

C&B is primarily a mod about decorations, and this is just a slipper slope of requests, could the crafting table work? yes, the normal, un-modded one would.

However a modded upgrade to it would not, and it could possibly even cause major issues, with a mod using a crafting table as if it is its own tile entity, and trying to store contents inside of a C&B Tile Entity.

Plus if it works with one thing, why doesn't it work with everything? Soon I'll be getting requests for 100s of other things modded and vanilla a-like. Why can't lamps work? Redstone blocks? Lava burns? Note Blocks? Burning wood?

The answer is simple, C&B just doesn't do unique block behaviors, I simply don't wish to open that can of worms.

C&B is a client mod, he using Forge and i don't know server variants of this platform. Correct me, if i'm wrong.

Forge is a client and server side platform, and C&B works on both as well, To use C&B you must have forge + C&B installed on the server however.

Hey, have you ever been asked about an official Chisel & Bits server? My friends and I would love to be able to play chisel & bits together but I haven't been able to find any servers with chisel & bits on it. You've probably been asked this question before and I would really appreciate it if you took this into consideration if you haven't already. Thanks!

I've not been asked, but at the same time such a server would probably need to be quite large, and require a considerable level of administration.

It would require a lot of work to keep up and moderate, and I don't really have the time or interest for such things, I enjoy working on the mod when I can, but I barely have time for that these days.

I have an idea that the player uses C & B to make a model and then copy it with some given function of the paper. And then use this copy paper and the desired functional items on the workbench, such as the use of copy paper and furnace synthesis, when I put down the model with copy paper, he is a furnace, and call the furnace GUI.

All minecfaft functional items can be made, so that we have a variety of doors! All kinds of boxes! All kinds of torches and even lanterns, there are a variety of enchanting bookshelves! O (∩ _ ∩) O

I believe that this sort of thing would make the most since as an addon, or separate mod, Something like this could work, but it might also be very bug/crash prone depending on how it needs to be done, and I don't really have the time for such things right now.

    Hi AlgorithmX2,

I love your mod! And thanks for the Special update for Do It Yourself Decorative Blocks.

Can you upload the chiselsandbits-13.0.jar on Curse? I want to use id for my Modpack.
    If not. Its okay :D

I'd prefer to get any pending issues with it cleared up before releasing another build, have you had any issues like schismatix described when using that build?

AlgorithmX2 sorry to be a pain and all that, but...

With one of the blocks from Do It Yourself Decorative Blocks as soon as you use the chisel on it it's texture changes to another (in this case jungle leaves ie the grey uncoloured texture). This also happens if you use the saw.

Strange thing is in hand and the inventory it shows correctly and even when you get the "ghost" to place it it shows correctly it only changes when the block is placed in world.

Its no big issue as I have told the kids to use another block and they have only found one block out of about 30 (different textured full blocks that is, not styles) that does this, just thought you should know.

Again great mod and its keeping the kids quiet which is great :)

Edit: Oh they've shown me another but changes to the jungle tree (bark / side) texture

I need more information here, You might need to provide your "Do it Yourself Decorative Blocks" configuration so I can test with the blocks you have configured, and I need to know which blocks have which issue to test with them.

With your agreement, can I look for someone who can convert me C & B to 1.7.10?

C&B is open source, and https://algorithmx2.github.io/Chisels-and-Bits/frequently-asked-questions/ clearly says that if someone wants they can try their hand at porting it.
