Oh, hey. That's actually really interesting. Perhaps an additional infusion could be added for it that only works on the mechanical body, to balance out the warp. Maybe built-in Goggles of Revealing over the eyes?
It doesn't need to be balanced out. It's self-healing, doesn't need food, and sounds like it gets a strength/resistance effect constantly without including the self-infusions the body can receive.
I've noticed this, the same thing happens with the Animation focus, the Crafting focus from Automagy, and the Infusion focus from Thaumic Infusion. They all seem to count as the same type of focus, at least before upgrades.
Sounds like an excellent reason to always enchant them, even if the enchantments are less than useful.
Not so much a bug as a request to remove the tags on research. I believe you said this would come with the current update, but I can't seem to find any option in the config.
Oh no, I just added that yesterday! I haven't started doing anything with golems yet, outside of a hungry chest in front of my infernal furnace. I guess I'm going to cheat it in, if it isn't fixed by the time I get to them. I understand the issue is complicated, I hope you can figure out what is causing it.
Ah crud, I left in the deprecated keystone recipe. Will be removed in the next release.
The crash is more concerning. Is this an existing world (with version 1.1.6's pocket planes) or a new one? If the former, try renaming/deleting pocketplane.dat and the DIM69 folder. After that you'll need to destroy any existing vortices and create a new pocket plane to test.
This is an existing world which has the pocket planes set to another dimension to avoid conflict, I've not touched them before now however. I'll do all that and report back shortly.
Edit: This appears to have fixed it, I checked with both the node I had prepared to test with before and a spawned in node.
Edit addendum: The issue with the game locking up to the the overworld persists. It sorts itself out after about a minute. Very strange, I'm used to freezing, but not chunks no longer loading after dimension changes(at least with mystcraft). Going to see if it's unique to this specific plane or a general issue with pocket planes.
Final Edit: It seems that having a node above a certain number of aspects(my initial node had 1024 in all primals) causes chunks to stop generating in the overworld after returning. A smaller node (256 aer) did not share this issue.
A few issues, first of which being there seem to be two recipes for keystones. One is found in the portal entry and the other in the plane entry itself. Second, stepping into the planar vortex inside of a pocket plane crashed with the following log.

I like the recipe of the portal though, I'll come back with more once I've tried building a keystone portal.
Edit: Well, the portal caused the game to freeze up for a minute. Everything about the plane froze the game while it did its thing, actually. Being in the plane causes the game to lock up for a few seconds(which I'm pretty sure is not because of my computer, I just built it a few months ago).
Will you be doing more with
Primordial fossils
or will 1.2 be where you're finished with the mod?
Version 1.1.9 is live. I didn't have nearly as much time as I'd hoped this weekend, but I did manage to add a bare-bones config file, remove the problematic dummy biome, and add a workaround for some Golemancer's Bell issues (an alternate crafting recipe).
There is a config option to enable pocket plane generation, but bear in mind that planes are heavily WIP and most of the nifty stuff won't generate yet. If you're only interested in a blank slate for building/transport, it should be enough.
Please let me know if you run into any issues with the new version, or if there are any config settings you'd like to see.
Awesome! Now for the maddening wait for Curse to approve it and let me download it.
Here's a nice, cooperative planar vortex. (Two imaginary internet points for noticing the lack of stabilizers; it's a Creative-only cheat version. There will also be a cheat item which instantly transforms a node into a vortex)
Pocket plane generation is now threaded so that it won't cause server lag. You'll know your plane is ready when the vortex stops emitting small explosions.
To visit your pocket plane, just jump through the vortex! It's perfectly safe. Probably. You can return through the other side of the vortex as long as it remains open.
A better view of this (relatively boring) pocket plane. Limiting the plane to primal aspects tends to produce a blank slate suitable for large-scale building, while more complex aspects can produce life or more exotic phenomena. Also note that the presence of primal aspects spawns shards and crystal clusters. The Iter aspect of this plane provides speed buffs to every entity on it, as well as generating subterranean tunnels with minecart tracks. If you dig past the stone layer, you'll also find a layer of netherrack due to the plane's fire aspect.
We need a more reliable way to access our pocket plane. Constructing a "planar keystone" and imprinting it on the plane will let us build a special structure...
...which, when energized with a wand, opens a permanent portal to the pocket plane. These gateways persist even once the original vortex is closed.
The other end of the portal, spawned as a hole in the planar boundary. Each pocket plane can support up to four open gateways at a time, allowing a clever thaumaturge to use it as a waystation between distant locations. It's even possible to connect different dimensions this way, although gateways cannot be opened on other pocket planes or in the Outer Lands.
At this point I can't promise a release date, although I'm doing everything in my power to get something out this weekend, before Fallout 4 renders the concept of "free time" meaningless.
Third-party mod integration is very low on the priority list at the moment. I can start looking into specific requests once the pocket planes are complete.
Thank you for answering! The planes look amazing, exactly what I hoped for! Can't wait to make a pure auram plane to see how amazing it is!
Nodes won't form naturally inside a pocket plane, but you will be able to import jarred nodes. (This is for convenience reasons, primarily, but it can easily be handwaved away within the lore. Once the pocket plane has formed it's just another physical dimension, which can support small breaches like aura nodes, etc.)
Perfect. Can you give any comment on if minetweaker integration is in the realm of possibility? If it's not I don't want to keep bringing it up.
am wondering about multiblocking that thaumic dioptra. like you have the normal one, but then you can perhaps in eldritch get an advanced master one that acts as the middle and you can place a normal one next to it and their screens act as one larger one.
Why? What would you get out of this? It wouldn't increase the range it checks, one Dioptra already goes as far out as is possible, I believe, on a normal server. Would it show more aura types in one display? Seems like it'd be too difficult to look through to be useful. I don't see any point to your suggestion, unless you could switch it out without changing the shard. Which is a small enough thing to not even think about complaining about.
To be perfectly clear, I'm not ruling out the possibility of updating past 1.7 sometime in the future - it just doesn't seem worthwhile at the moment. If future versions of Minecraft or Thaumcraft include something spectacularly compelling (off the top of my head, maybe modular/programmable golems) I may re-evaluate this stance.
Minecraft 1.7.10 is its own thing, and I'd like to see Horizons fleshed out on it-- there are plenty of great mods that are staying behind, some of which are supplemented/replaced in 1.8. It's its own beast-- don't feel rushed to make the jump.
I mean personally I'm not going to bother with 1.8. 1.9 may not have a forge release for a while but I'm rather burnt out on MC at the moment anyways, so whatever's fine by me.
1.7.10 Feels like another 1.2.5, one of those version that modding flourished in. It had some mods leave and many new ones come. Old mods were rewritten and everything was was just... so. It's been great. I know that the mods that are there now are likely all the mods that will be made for 1.7, but I don't see any reason to go to 1.8 for a long time yet. I may skip it in favor of 1.9. That probably won't be another great version, but I look forward to the features it adds.
On a more positive note, expect to see some pocket plane teasers later this week. With the new Planar Gateway system, you can turn your pocket plane into a handy interdimensional waystation that connects locations miles apart.
This sort of goes back against what you said a while back with limiting how the planes work, but I'm very okay with the change. This sounds like it'll make moving my base to one even easier. Will we be able to have nodes inside of pocket planes? Odd if we can, but I'd hate to not have them!
I've noticed the shard deal with totems, I was playing a bit with it on my test world after i said such. and, albeit extremely hard to do, a solution i may have found is node combination, atleast with pure and sinister nodes -havent managed to spawn or find a tainted one yet in either my surivial or creative- some how magnet a sizable node over to a tainted one and just, eat it.
Edit: Scratch that, made a sizable node to nom a tainted, kept the essentia type but modifer from tainted node stayed. now i have a really big gelum tainted node
Edit 2: comepletely unrelated but thaumic slimes appear to have a tendency to jettison small parts of themselves when they get large, amusing to say the least
If you find a tainted node in your world before you begin thaumaturgy, gg. Your world is forfeit. The node will use its massive pre-built store of flux to generate taint before it even begins trying to refill the aura. At that point it will grow faster than anything can kill it. This is being fixed in the next update, but at this point, you can't kill taint. It finds ways around anything you do to block it.
The slime thing is fun, but it also uses that as an attack, shooting a slime at you so it can continue to attack.

On the other hand, I can still add the illumine lens from Thaumic Horizons, which is quite nice.

They weren't going to be in this update, it would have taken even longer to release if they were. Read the past few pages.

0
Awesome! Now for the maddening wait for Curse to approve it and let me download it.
0
Thank you for answering! The planes look amazing, exactly what I hoped for! Can't wait to make a pure auram plane to see how amazing it is!
0
Perfect. Can you give any comment on if minetweaker integration is in the realm of possibility? If it's not I don't want to keep bringing it up.
0

This sort of goes back against what you said a while back with limiting how the planes work, but I'm very okay with the change. This sounds like it'll make moving my base to one even easier. Will we be able to have nodes inside of pocket planes? Odd if we can, but I'd hate to not have them!
0
If you find a tainted node in your world before you begin thaumaturgy, gg. Your world is forfeit. The node will use its massive pre-built store of flux to generate taint before it even begins trying to refill the aura. At that point it will grow faster than anything can kill it. This is being fixed in the next update, but at this point, you can't kill taint. It finds ways around anything you do to block it.
The slime thing is fun, but it also uses that as an attack, shooting a slime at you so it can continue to attack.
Edit: Forums hate me.
