    posted a message on XRay Mod (1.6.4 - 1.11) ( Vanilla/Forge/LiteLoader )

My client seems to not produce an fml latest log file, only a latest.log file. I can add to the above information that I too use world edit, and having world edit in the profile without x-ray does not give the bug with single player worlds. Add x-ray and I can't play singleplayer maps anymore.

Okay. Here is a working version for 1.11.1 and 1.11.2. There is still more work to be done, but it seems stable enough for a preview release, and I know demand is high. I will have another update out soon that's much more polished. I'm not sure when but when you see the update notification I recommend you update immediately.

    Download here.

Let me know if It crashes or you run into and weird bugs.

    Enjoy.

With this version in my forge mods folder I can't load single player worlds. It keeps stuck on the loading screen. As soon as I remove this mod it loads up just fine. Weird bug alert.

Sorry about that! It looks like I was trying to simplify some calculations, and ended up messing up map offsets. We'll try to get that fixed and out to you ASAP.

Aw thanks, that would be amazing!

posted a message on Worldmaker 2.0 - Map generator to make Planetoids, Vastwood, Mystical Islands and more!

I am trying to make a planetoids map that has x = 0 and z = 0 as its dead center, but I'm confused. In your post above it says:

"First, it allows centering a map around the origin. For example, for a map of size 64, enter -32 for both the x offset and the z offset in order to center it. However, offsets must be integers; it will not accept an offset of -9.5 in order to center a map of size 19; we advise using even numbers for maps you wish to center."

So I did that, and I ended up with files centered around -16,-16.mca. Then I tried it again with some smaller maps to try out what gives, and if I choose -8 as an offset for a 16 chunk map (as adviced above) I get files in the -4,-5 range. What do I put there to make the coordinates xz 0 the exact center of the map, because this confuses me to no end!

posted a message on Looking for Skyfactory 3 PVE

    Hello,

I have recently downloaded Skyfactory 3 from the Curse Launcher and I would like to find a nice server to play it on. I am looking for a server that is PvE survival (so no PVP) and a friendly community.

As for myself, I am an adult minecraft player, I have been playing minecraft since beta (almost 6 years) and on servers since around 3 years, 2 of which as staff. I love to work together with other players, help people out wherever I can and make awesome stuff together.

I am looking forward to checking out some awesome servers!

If that is indeed the case (I have never used Substrata and don't feel like downloading it just to test), that would seem to imply to me that the Alumina Ore it adds isn't Ore Dicted correctly. Seems like a pretty blatant oversight for a mod that just adds a bunch of new metals but *shrug*

Yes that was what I thought too.

    Edit: Reported: https://github.com/EXTER7/Substratum/issues/32

Perhaps you don't have things set up correctly in your modpack or the most recent versions of the mods. JEI tells me the alloys. Aluninium ore smelts fine in my smeltery. I make aluminium brass casts with no issues and only using the smeltery too.

Somehow JEI/NEI give me statistiscs half of the time when I try to view a receipe, and I haven't found yet what setting that is. As for the smeltery, the ore for aluminum in substratum is called alumina or something like that, and when I put it in my smeltery the bars turn silver and it says not smeltable. I have looked through the configs but I have yet to find out why how and where I can fix that. Would you mind dumping your configs for JEI/NEI TiCo and Substratum in pastebin so I can compare them with mine? Maybe that will help me find out the right settings! Thanks a lot!

Edit: I refreshed my configs by deleting them for all these mods and having standard ones made. I do get the receipes for the alloys now, but I still can't smelt Alumina ore in the smeltery. Only the nuggets / ingots / blocks / parts etc. But that doesn't make much sense as far as compatabality goes, because that means I have to smelt it in a vanilla furnace first before I can use it in a smeltery, costing double fuel!

Substratum works perfectly well with Tinkers' in my modpack (Modded Mischief).

It does for a large part but it is impossible to smelt the alumina ores. Ofcourse you got just smelt it in a furnace and then smelt the ingots in the smeltery, but thats a lot of hassle! Previously aluminum ore could be collected with any iron-leveled pickaxe and you could easily turn in into alu brass. Right now it's just a pain! And true, clay casts are a thing, I just liked to make casts out of alu brass because it was very findable and durable at the same time.

On a second note, the new all in one book is very usefull but it does miss all information about alloying! Even NEI/JEI don't tell me that, so I have to google what materials make what alloys. Maybe this should be added to the/a book too, as that is kind of usefull to know!

Substratum should have what you're looking for.

Update: I have tried substratum but unfortunately as is it is not compatible with TiCo. First of all because the ores are not smeltable in the smeltery (which you kind of need to make casts) and second of all because you need a diamond level pickaxe to mine them, and to make that in TiCo you need casts, and I wanted to use the aluminum to make alu brass to make the casts. Now I know I could make a vanilla pick, but this time around I wanted to keep tools limited to TiCo tools.... So it's not the solution I was hoping for. For now I removed it and gave up, but if someone has another tip then it's always welcome!

Kind of sounds like what you want is a mod that only adds Aluminum to the game and nothing else. You're not going to find that.

It doesn't have to be 'only' aluminum, I wouldn't mind if it would like add a handfull of other ores and related items, even if it adds even more copper and tin. I just don't want anything the size of say metallurgy or with a whole techpack attached to it. Just a fairly simple mod!

so far a nice mod to add materials imo was immersive engineering.

if you looking lighter then that i suggest using one of the many mods that add only metal.

I have seen Immersive Engineering, but it's not my kind of mod as far as I can tell. When it comes to tech mods I think other mods fit the minecraft theme better, like industrialcraft, rftools, enderIO and the likes. And as I already have those I would rather not add yet another technic pack if I don't have to. I want aluminum to be able to make aluminum brass among others, so the lighter the mod the better. I have seen a lot of "only metal" type mods, but they seem to either add the likes of only copper and tin and no alumin(i)um, or complete range of metals. Do you know of any good alternative that I can have a look at? Your help is much appreciated!

Hey I just updated my personal modpack from 1.7.10 to 1.10.2 and I have two questions about the new TiCo:

Does anybody know of a good, lightweight, mod that adds aluminum? I have plenty of mods that add stuff like copper and tin but I only found aluminum in big tech packs so far and I don't want to add anything that big as the pack is quite large already.

The "changes from 1.7.10" list doesn't say anything about miniature hearts, heart canisters, full guards, cutlasses and oreberry bushes, what happened to those? Is there a full changelist somewhere that lists everything that was taken out, as this list is obviously not complete?

    Thanks a lot!

@Lunatrius, they replied with the following information:

"Ok, NEI first disables Texture2d, enables blend, sets blendFunc to srcAlpha and oneMinusSrcAlpha, disabled lighting, at the end of the draw call it enables lighting disables blend then enables texture2d. unless you are just assuming the correct blendfunc is applied it might be on your end."

To me this is some sort of Chinese, so I'm hoping that you know what this means!

Might be better off using JEI and some other mod that has the same F9 functionality.

As for the bug, the grid/chunk border renderer is setting some OpenGL state and it's not resetting it to the previous, expected value. Mods should always try to revert any OGL changes to ensure maximum compatibility with other mods.

Actually the current verson of NEI is working together with JEI. JEI adds the receipes and NEI adds the functions and buttons that it has always done. If I were to exchange NEI for other mods that add the same functionality to JEI, I would need multiple, and then I still don't have all I'm used to. So I think I'm sticking to NEI for now! I will post this info to the current NEI devs if I can find the correct page, thank you very much!

Edit, took me a bit to find the correct github as ChickenBones himself has stopped modding, but I posted the issue here!
