About Me

Note: I have retired as a moderator. (I need my life back) If you have some unfinished business I was handling, please contact KioriBug.
Wise men speak because they have something to say; fools speak because they have to say something. -- Plato
But it does me no injury for my neighbor to play in creative mode or survival mode, or switching between them at will. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg. -- Akynth (with apologies to Thomas Jefferson)
Free Speech:
Your right to speak does not impose upon me an obligation to listen.
"Congress shall make no law" does not equal "citricsquid shall make no forum rule."
Just because the government can't arrest you for saying something does not mean that anyone is required to publish it.
Akynth's Corollary to Godwin's Law:
As the number of posts in a thread increases, the probability of the thread devolving into a flamewar approaches 1.
If you can't figure out how to spell a few things and want to look clueful:
The word for the Middle Ages is medieval. Not medival. Not midival. And definitely not mid-evil.
A person who fights is a warrior. A worrier is someone who worries.
Opposing groups are factions. Divisions of a number are fractions.
The opposite of there is here. What you do with your ear is hear.
Your is like our. You're is a contraction of you are.
There is the opposite of here. They're is a contraction of they are. Their is like our, too.
Its is like his. It's is a contraction of it is.
Allowed means permitted. Aloud means not silent.
Griefing means messing up someone's game. Grieving is feeling sad.
A part means joined. Apart means separate.
Too means also. To means toward, etc. Two is the number 2.
Do not trust autocorrect. Autocorrect hates you. Autocorrect hates all of us. It does not understand gaming. It does not understand much of anything, actually. It will turn your words into something very, very strange. Do trust spell check. It will keep you from posting about your "servivel" server. But watch it; it will also tell you that "survival sever" is perfectly correct.
Common Autocorrect Substitutions (check for these in your posts)
If you have a typo (and sometimes even if you don't), autocorrect will "fix" it to what it thinks it should be, which is very likely not what you wanted. It's evil that way. Plus it doesn't know gaming terminology at all, so it's likely to try to "fix" it to something it does know. If you're using a mobile device, always double-check your post titles and the posts themselves for the following reasons to hate autocorrect:
griefing gets turned into grieving
typos for server get turned into sever
typos for factions get turned into fractions
I've gotten a lot of questions in PM about how to become a moderator.
