I wanted to tell you that I've been busy irl and that's why I haven't made any videos. I can't wait to at one point have more time and make "decent" ones though.
I do read on and off what you post and check if there's any updates on TMCW. The fix you made fully works and I've tested it on several older intel devices (some of which intel macbooks). As always, thank you for sharing your wonderful mod(s) with us!
As always, thank you so much for the detailed replay.
I got back from work an hour ago and tested it real quickly. So spamming F4 and being within a 6-8 chunk area of the parts you're trying to relight definitely works to 90% + .
I'm not sure if aiming actively with your pointer/cursor towards a specific blackened part of the map helps or not. It probably doesn't do anything.
I will make some further tests on the weekend if I have time. I also plan to test TMCW on several laptop devices and record/film it. But sadly with Germany's slow internet and lack of time due to real life, it's just not possible right now...
This has probably been asked a lot, but I wanted to know if there's a possible way to get rid of the black "missing light" parts when new chunks are loaded.
For example, when I play in Creative Mode with 16 chuncks render distance and I fly around and let's say find a beautiful cliff, parts of it would be black/dark since the light needs time to generate. This makes filming sometimes difficult because not everything is visible.
One solution is to fly closer or even enter the "black" area and the light will then generate, but it's not always the case.
When I have time, I can test the new version on a few other devices and see if everything renders properly. I'll use both the official Minecraft launcher and MultiMC for the test.
It's nice to be able to play your Minecraft version on so many devices, even if I don't have much time right now, it's something to look forward to !
It seems that it is an issue with the intel drivers.
I tested this several times by downgrading to the version from 2021 that everyone used to recommend for Minecraft to work properly. Everything worked when I did it, however after updating to the latest version (or anything newer than that 2021 one), the same visual glitches appeared again.
Tested this on the same map. First time with the 2021 drivers - everything was rendered properly. Then I updated the display drivers and things started to "disappear" again. Not sure if resolution plays a role since this tiny device has a resolution of 1280x720 pixels and that's the only resolution I tested it on.
What I'm going to do now is downgrade again to 2021 and I hope it doesn't mess up any other games. Not that I have much time to test or play right now, but would be nice to know everything works properly.
Here is a screenshot I made last evening just for info. This is what happened "after upgrading" to the latest intel drivers. I think the GPD hadn't had its' display drivers upgraded since 2022 before that. In the 2022 version entities would become invisible and in the latest version, entities would still remain invisible but part of your own character too.
The Intel driver issue should be fixed, I've had multiple independent confirmations that the fix I posted in reply 294, which has since been integrated into TMCW, works, including ports of bugfix mods for 1.7.10 which use the same fix
Dear MasterCaver,
thank you so much for the fast reply. I actually read your post a few weeks ago and am aware that you've already implemented this fix into TMCW.
Upon playing and testing a bit more today, I noticed that in certain sessions, the player's body parts also become invisible. For example, using your default skin (which is an awesome skin btw), the chest/torso and the head were missing, white the legs and the arms were still visible. And yes, you are absolutely right - when a certain entity/mob is affected, all creatures of that type are invisible. I will try to provide you with a detailed answer tomorrow (Saturday) since It's already late here. I will post the specs of the tiny device and a few more screenshots too, if that helps.
Btw, I also tested TMCW today on a MacBook Air M1 and it looks really nice. There were no issues so far there, but I only "played" for 2-3 minutes perhaps.
I hope you're doing well. As always, I apologize for not replying to your message a couple of months ago.
It's still very difficult for me to find time to play the games that I enjoy, including TheMasterCaver's World.
Yesterday as I was testing your Minecraft version on this tiny device above, I noticed that certain entities remain invisible and only their shadows (shadow blobs) are rendered. This happened to sheep first, then later to bunnies and upon spawning in several new worlds, finally happened to cows as well. It always seems to be several types of entities at a time.
I also noticed that sometimes dropped items such as blocks, tools, weapons etc... would appear entirely black, but upon me changing the camera angle - for example, viewing them from a certain side, they'd be completely rendered with their textures and all.
Does this have to do anything with the intel drivers issue? I tested this with both Minecraft's official launcher and MultiMC and the issue persists.
Here is a photo of two "invisible" sheep. Some people on reddit mentioned that it happens when the render distance is too low, but I am using the default distance of 8 and I've tested your Minecraft version on several older devices with integrated intel graphics. Perhaps I didn't notice it before? I will check again when I have time, of course.
And as always, thank you for sharing your wonderful version of the game with all of us.
I have a small question. I read long ago in one of your posts that mansions appear much more often and me and my wife started a new world to play TMCWv5.10 and I got 4 mansions all within visible range (16 blocks view distance) within each other. Is that considered rare? I mean, I like it quite a lot, just curious. I can provide screenshots if necessary.
Also, when I was playing TMCWv5.10 on my macbook air 11 inch, I noticed that the cherry blossom trees look very beautiful, however, when you play on a bigger screen / monitor, the green color of the cherry blossom texture really stands out. Just wanted to let you know. Hope you're doing well!
I just wanted to wish you a happy anniversary and thank you for sharing your wonderful work with all of us!
I don't have time to play right now due to work and uni, but I still read from time to time your posts.
I'm really looking forward to explore TMCW a lot more once me and wife settle down irl and make a proper video about it.
I'm also planning to make a video where I test TMCW on several devices, including 2 intel macbooks and several 2in1 tablet pcs with Intel-Celeron chips etc... (I've got a lot of second hand devices that were a really good bargain and I've installed TMCW on all of them lol).
Anyways, I wish you lots of health, stay awesome and cheers to another 10 years!
P.S. The cake is AI-generated (obviously lol) and I left the typos on purpose, because I thought it's funny. Have a great day!
I just wanted to let you know that this morning I actually played for 10-15 minutes in creative mode and tested out the larger maps. They're really helpful, thank you! It's amazing how much distance you can actually cover. Also, thank you so much for taking multiplayer/lan into consideration.
I actually took a few screenshots this morning when I was playing (singleplayer), but feel too shy to post them and they aren't important. I was just impressed by the changes (I managed to notice without that much experience).
Last thing I noticed (after playing shortly on 2-3 worlds, newly generated) is that the overall landscape feels a bit more "flat". It reminded me a tiny bit of vanilla Minecraft, although it could have been just my luck with spawning. Are those the changes regarding biome elevation?
Thank you so much for the detailed post with all fixes and changes!
We don't have time to play right now, but I really appreciate it and will be thinking about the anniversary on the 23rd this month! (Still, I'll download the new release and have a quick peek).

As always, I'm sorry for the sort of late reply (never on purpose, of course).
Thank you for sharing!
Regardless of what you decide to add or not, this has become my one and only Minecraft. Nothing comes even close.
I'm really happy to hear from you and just happy to know you're still so passionate about Minecraft and TMCW.
I have TMCW installed on almost every device I own (if possible) and I don't even know what's going on with current Minecraft.
TMCW is a true (hidden) gem!
Anyways, happy halloween and have a great weekend!

I had some time and tested again and ended up spawning very close to these beautiful mountains...
