Oct 5, 2011I support, this is nowhere near Aether and Aether failed in the first place. GreyAcumen goes way too hardcore on ideas. "I MADE TEH IDEAZ, U MUST FOLLOW MAH ROUTINEZ!"Posted in: Minecraft Mods
Can't wait to see this become a full release mod.
Sep 8, 2011Posted in: MapsRuins of Fire
I've been messing around the Mapping and modding section and i saw few threads that seemed interesting. One of them was the Desert Survival map which seemed like a fun challenge. The second thread was Eggplant! 's MCDungeon tool which added dungeons and ruins to the Desert Survival map. Frankly, i had the Skyrim Dragon Mob mod on during my test play, and IT WAS UNBELIEVABLY AMAZING. Sneaking through the ruins and dungeons, trying to find the Oasis while avoiding contact with dragons at all cost, it was one of the most challenging and satisfying experiences i've ever had in Minecraft, so i've decided to upload the map. The rules will be :
-Play on Peaceful or Easy (Dragons spawn on peaceful anyways, and dungeons are for hiding, not having a greater challenge.)
-Install Dragon Mod on second day (If you install it on first day, it's pretty much suicide.)
-You can use any non-cheat mod to aid you (EE, IC, SDK Gunmod, you name it.)
-Your main goal is to find the oasis (there are 5, so if you're feeling lucky and wanna have some more trouble, you can search for the others.)
-Your secondary goal is to collect a stack of leathers through dragons (diamonds when thatsgerman2010 updates the mod.)
Please DON'T press the green plus on the botton right, if you liked the challenge, give a plus to Eggplant, thatsgerman2010 and LeoPhone. I'm simply sharing my experiences.
You can post any questions or suggestions here. I'm looking forward to a gameplay series and a review of challenge :wink.gif:

This is the first model I've ever made, this mod inspired me to try making models!
I know, I know it's ugly, I'm a graphic artist, not a modler x)This is a baby dragon if you're wondering! I've been thinking that it will only have 20 hearts of hp, slowly breaths fire and can't fly since it's wings haven't developed yet.The next model I'll be making wont be this ugly that's for sure :biggrin.gif:
How much time did you spend on that? That looks great!

It should work on vista. Are you sure you installed everything correctly?
BTW, crafts are probably a bit less "grabby" now.
As a "victim" of vista, so to speak, i can assure this mod works on vista perfectly fine.
Sep 5, 2011I installed this mod with the hopes of making my reed farm automatic. Result : I've died and lost most of my stuff, and my reed farm is unaccessible until i make a good armor and stack up lots of food.Posted in: Minecraft Mods
I don't mind losing stuff or my farm, but can you make it so that stone laser DOESN'T destroy dropped stuff?

Jar mods go directly in your minecraft/minecraft_server.jar. They begin with (Jar)
If you're still having problems: run this Error Test and post the results on this thread.

Aug 6, 2012Blitz_9100 posted a message on [1.3.2/1.4.2] PublicLAN - Unrandomize lan server portDon't think I have the time or the effort to keep this updated or build up the features I would like in this mod. I did find a mod that seems to be a lot better than this one and have decided it would be best to let this project die. This mod seems to do the same exact thing and can be found atPosted in: Minecraft Mods
PublicLAN tweaks the lan server feature to enable a public server feature for friends to play together that are not on the same internet. This however does not port forward the server, So a little knowledge on your router will be required. It modifies 2 class files that may make it incompatible with other mods.This follows the lan server which does not have any security measures in place to prevent who and who cannot connect. Be sure that you trust the user as once they connect there is really no way to kick/ban them without stopping the server.
The purpose of this mod is to allow for possibly other mods which still require some client components to be played with friends that are not on your local router. I originally created this to play the Biosphere mod by Risugami because it would not run on a stand-alone server at that time. I thought I would release it in case another else has the same problem.
What it does:
It allows you to forward the single port that you would with a regular server, which is 25565. Normally the lan server would give you a random port you would need to forward to open to friends.

- Q: Why not use hamachi?
- A: Hamachi requires all users to download the install their software and sometimes people don't find hamachi safe or are not willing to use it
- Q: Why not use a stand-alone server or hosting company?
- A: I would have used a stand alone, but the mod I was using did not run on a stand-alone server
- Q: It still displays my local address still, eg: 192.168.108 (1.3.1 version)
- A: I try to limit how many classes I had to modify, So I really didn't wanna modify another to fix that, Plus I ran into it not letting people connect who were actually on lan
- Q: Does this work with hamachi?
- A: Yes this does work with hamachi.

0.31 released! Leaves work again!
668,116 downloads! Woot!
Zeppelin is a mod you can use to fly ships around in the Minecraft world. It is not limited to the world grid, but can move freely in space.
An awesome runthrough by GNS.
My old, very old video:
New Zeppelin video from BigFatPolarBear
Aether compatible (was) - Watch Neth's awesome video
Install video brought to us by Mine123Crafter!
Nice video from Neth!
A great video brought to us by The Original Minecraft Mod Showcase (with some unfortunate crashes (which are now fixed!))
A nice video by thinwhiteduke89, shows how to craft the controller and steer a ship around.
Video from robbaz :
An interview (of me) done by killthenrun1
Courtesy of KensukeNL:
Note: This mod is BETA - There is a good chance it will crash, but is stable enough for people to use now. If you get a crash dump, please post what you were doing, and the crash log in this thread.
Create a craft controller block
Airship moves forward/back, up/down, and can turn. Ship moves forward/back and can turn. Elevator only goes up/down. Turntable only rotates.
Place this block on your 'ship'. The direction you place the block will determine the forward direction for the craft. Right click the block. The craft will be determined. If it is too large, you will get an error. Default max size is 1024 blocks.
Blocks that will not be accepted as part of a ship by default (you can change this - see configuration section):
- A few more random things like flowers and mushrooms
The following blocks will be included, but will not chain to other blocks when detecting a ship (you can change this - see configuration section):
- Minecart Rails
- Redstone Wire
- Redstone Repeaters
- Melon/Pumpkin Stem
- Lilly Pad
- Nether Wart
- *See config for exact list
8 Increase speed
2 Decrease speed
4 Rotate left
6 Rotate right
* Align to grid
You can configure the controls in your options.txt, see below.
You can control the ship as long as you are standing on it (or near it in some cases).
If you jump off while the ship is in motion, wave goodbye.
Right clicking the controller block will cause the ship to stop, realign to the world grid, and rejoin the world.
Create a compass block!
This compass is placed like a regular block, and will point Notch-North (towards the rising sun, at +X)
Any sign on an active craft will have the following string transforms done to each line.
#X# - The current X position of the controller.
#Y# - The current Y position of the controller.
#Z# - The current Z position of the controller.
#S# - The forward speed of the craft.
#A# - The current ascent rate of the craft.
#R# - The current rotation rate of the craft.
#H# - The current heading of the craft.
#C# - The ID of the craft.
Additional ideas for this are welcome!
A remote control for the Zeppelin controllers!
- Link a remote to a controller via right-clicking it when active.
- Right clicking anything else will tell you the craft it is linked to (message shown in screenshot above).
- If you have a remote in your hand, you can control the remote ship with the normal controls.
- If you are on a ship, and have a remote in your hand, you control the remote ship, and not then ship you are on, so you can make hanger doors and stuff without giving commands to both ships at once.
- #C# sign will tell you the ID of the ship.
- Remote linkages persist across saves.
- You can have multiple remotes for one craft.

This mod requires ModLoader!
- Install ModLoader
- Place Zeppelin-client-&--#60;version&--#62;.zip in the /mods/ folder.
- (0.14+ only) Extract the specified class from mod_Zeppelin-client.zip, and put it in your minecraft.jar
- (1.0.0 for Mac)
- Cart Mod
- CCTV (craft controls will fail)
The configuration file can be found in your minecraft folder under /config/mod_Zeppelin.cfg. If it does not exist it will be created at runtime. These configuration settings are currently implemented, along with their defaults:
block.controller.id = 195
This is the controller block ID
block.compass.id = 196
This is the compass block ID
zeppelin.max_craft_size = 1024
This is the maximum size the controller will attempt to detect. Larger craft are slower, so this depends on how fast your computer is.
zeppelin.disallowed_blocks = 1,2,3,8,9,10,11,12,13,30,31,32,37,38,39,40,51,52,59,78,79,87,88,90
A comma separated list of blocks the controller will skip when searching for a craft. See wiki for ID listing. Air and Bedrock are always skipped.
zeppelin.nofollow_blocks = 6,27,28,30,31,32,50,51,55,59,63,65,66,68,69,70,72,75,76,77,93,94,96,104,105,111,115
A comma separated list of blocks the controller will include, but not continue searching past. (think minecart rails on an elevator, you dont want to pick up the whole track, just the part on the elevator).
zeppelin.diagonal_connections = false
Allows diagonal search for the controller block. Do not connect your floors diagonally, you can fall out.
zeppelin.render_distance = 128
Max distance for rendering the ship. Do not increase unless you have a good reason.
zeppelin.accurate_player_on_craft = true
Selection of player detection method. True = new accurate method. False = old box method.
zeppelin.update_properties_on_mod_update = true
If true, config file will be updated when the mod updates.
zeppelin.print_flight_text = true
This can be used to disable the in-flight status text, if you only want to use the instrumentation signs.
zeppelin.keyboard_repeat_rate = 150
This is the value in milliseconds for the keyboard repeat rate (how often it presses when you hold it down). If you set this to 0, it works like it did prior to 0.22.
zeppelin.dynamic_lighting = false
Enable this for full lighting effects (light in real world will light up Zeppelin craft, Zeppelin will darken when entering caves)
zeppelin.minimal_sprites = false
Enable this so Zeppelin only uses 1 terrain sprite index for the controller.
The block rotation database is located in /config/MetaRotation/Vanilla.meta. If you would like to add rotation support for another block (ie buildcraft) you can create another .meta file in this directory, and it will be automatically included. If you create entries, please post them and I will add them to the section here so we can get a nice database going.
The following spoiler contains any MetaRotation data that people create for other mods. If you change the block ID, you will have to update it. But the : meta numbers will be the same. Take the chunks you want, and put them in a .meta file in your /config/MetaRotation/ directory.

- Ships consume fuel (configurable)
- Crashing the ship at high speed will cause blocks to break
- Larger ships are slower to accelerate and turn (configurable?)
- More complicated (and expensive) recipe
Q: What is the block ID for the controller?
A: Block ID 195 by default in version 0.5 and higher (165 for 0.1 through 0.4).
Q: How can I change the controls?
A: Either use the in game control editor, or edit the options.txt in your .minecraft folder (Start-&--#62;Run-&--#62;%appdata%/.minecraft/). The numbers for the keys are scancodes, which you can find here. Minecraft's config.txt requires DECIMAL scancodes. NOT hex. Picture!
Here's a different control scheme based on arrow keys, pgup/pgdn, home/end.
Q: But the "Done" button is in the way! How can I change the controls in game?
A: Download the guiControls fix in the Downloads section. Put the file in your minecraft.jar, and then the "Done" button will move when you resize the window.
Q: I can only move up and down! Help!
A: Make sure your NUMLOCK is on! If you don't know what that is, google it!
Q: I get a black screen and no crash dump, what can I do?
A: If you get the black screen with no error, create the following batch file file (or put it in your start-&--#62;run)
java -Xms512m -Xmx1024m -cp "%APPDATA%\.minecraft\bin\minecraft.jar;%APPDATA%\.minecraft\bin\jinput.jar;%APPDATA%\.minecraft\bin\lwjgl.jar;%APPDATA%\.minecraft\bin\lwjgl_util.jar" -Djava.library.path="%APPDATA%\.minecraft\bin\natives" net.minecraft.client.Minecraft
You should now get a command prompt with all the java messages, and minecraft should start. When it crashes, this window should have your stacktrace.
Q: Why can't I use block X?
A: You can try! See the configuration section above.
Q: Aether/modblah doesn't work!
A: Check for a block ID conflict in your modloader.txt
Q: I have an error report that says "avax.imageio.IIOException: Error reading PNG metadata"
A: Make sure you have the latest version of java. If that still doesn't fix it, post the error report.
Q: Can you make a Bukkit / Spout version?
A: No. SMP will be ModloaderMP.
Q: Can you make this compatible with MineCraft Forge?
A: It is compatible! Zeppelin is not dependent on forge, but will work alongside any forge mod you have.
Q: Where is OPTIONS.txt?
A: In the %APPDATA%/.minecraft/ folder on windows, or in &--#60;user&--#62;/Library/Application Support/minecraft for OS X.
Q: I can't find the controller in creative mode!
A: Creative is not supported yet. You can probably craft the controller like normal, but I don't know if it will fly.
Q: My question wasn't in here!
A: Make a post! Start it with 'I read the OP but...' and please state what version of the mod you are having issues with. If you ask a question that was answered in this post, I will not answer you!

Sep 7, 2011thatsgerman2010 posted a message on [1.7.3] Skyrim Dragon Mob for Minecraft! [WIP][v0.1d]Posted in: WIP Mods
thanks EXDragonith for the Banner!
Please let me know what you think!
Looking for Modders Help!
This has been far more popular than I expected and I could use some help as I cannot update it as fast as bugs are coming in!
If you are a modder and are interested in helping make this mod better, please PM me
preferably people that are good with Mob Animation and Mob AI
Memo about Textures, Models, and non-Skyrim (or non Wyvern) ideas!
Besides EXDragonith, if you have a Model, texture, new idea, dragon request, ... ect I know your excited for this Dragon mob but this mod is strictly a SKYRIM DRAGON MOD, I am only adding the Skyrim Dragon that you've seen in the trailer (im very sorry if you havent seen it yet, its the best trailer EVER). So if you have an idea for a new type of dragon, a cool looking texture, or baby dragons, if it doesnt look like the dragon seen in the trailer, ATM I'm not interested
that DOESNT mean I will never be interested, after the Skyrim Dragon is finished I will be working on a much more open minded Dragon mod with Nether Dragons, Ice Dragons,..ect Hell Ill even add a Big-Pink-Sparkely-DonkeyShitInMyFace Dragon, Ill put up a poll to see if people like the dragon, and if they do ill add it, even if its a Big-Pink-Sparkely-DonkeyShitInMyFace Dragon.
My vision for this mod is to be a Skyrim like as possible, if you are/were a modder its easy to understand that you dont want to stray away from your original vision
Hopefully you all will be understanding, keep your ideas, PM them to me, and when this mod is mostly finished, ill bring them out to start the more open minded "Real Dragon Mod"!!!
If you do want to make a texture for the Skyrim Dragon, please be patient as I am redoing the model, once its finished Ill post the .txn and ill have you paint enthusiast edit away! Again, need to look like the Dragon from the Skyrim Trailer
This adds a Dragon mob that shares similar characteristics that are planned for Skyrim's dragon. This dragon will fly in the air until it spots the player, once spotted it will fly over and begin breathing fire from the sky, destroying everything in the path. If you hope to hide from this beast in your pathetic little house, think again! The dragon's fire will destroy everything besides bedrock and obsidian. If you wish to beat this beast with your sword, you must pull out your bow and injure him enough so he may land (or any range weapons). Slay him with your sword and diamonds will be yours! (right now it drops leather, will be editing to diamond once I get its health to an appropriate position)
Spawn for SinglePlayercommands
for nonhostile (will turn hostile if it sees you)
for Walking Dragon
for hostile (is automatically hostile)
-halved attackTime, will spit fire for 50 ticks instead of 100, used to match the sound
-tried again to fix the colliding, kinda works... since Im going to be changing it so that it does bomber runs Ill just focus on that
-made Walking Dragons resistant to fire
-"tried" to make flying dragons go up when there is an obstacle in their path
-changed spawn rate to 1
-removed explosions from arrows until I can find a way to make it only explode when they cant see the entity
-"tried" to make it so that when a Dragon lands, only 1 dragon spawns
removed everything with Arrows mod
Fanmade! has a way better computer than I, and showcases some interesting dragon interactions :biggrin.gif:
first showcase! love it! haha
Dragon goes to one position and breathes fire until health reaches certain point
once its lands, walks around and will continue to attack entity
breathes fire and there is a 1/50 chance that one of the fires will explode (making it impossible to hide from him)
Things that need to be added/changed with testing ASAP!
In Progress - Improve Texture
In Progress - Improve Model
In Progress - Make the Dragon do bomber runs instead of going to one certain point
Find Attack Times (how often it breaths fire from the sky, and on the ground, as well as how often it bites)
Find Health (right now its 60 when flying then will land once it goes lower than 40, but could be higher or lower)
Find how many arrows it fires (right now it shoot a huge amount of arrows, the damage could be lowered or maybe make it only 1/25th arrow or 1/10th arrow will catch the ground on fire, idk thats why I need testing lol)
Things to Add after testing
Make better Animation (make a better biting animation, make a landing animation, make a better walking animation, make a takeoff animation)
Animate the tail

Jul 13, 2011Zaikyu posted a message on [1.7.3] GeoCraft [V 1.1.1a] + GeoTools [V 0.2] Alternative Update!Posted in: Minecraft ModsGeoCraft
Please Leave Comments in the thread, more feedback the better mods come out and also keeps it alive =)
Screen Shots of your work using the mod are always welcomed.
Hello I'm Zaikyu and this is my first Mod which I have deemed GeoCraft. GeoCraft is an attempt to add a spark of realism to minecraft while making it slightly more challenging. It adds many more blocks to the game most of them being new types of stone.Descriptions:
Old but still applies:In the theme of realism it adds a new rock layer around the 25th block height the stone starts transitioning to a new block modeled after the real stone granite. This granite is harder than the current stone and requires a iron pickaxe or higher to harvest. This now mean Diamond, Redstone and Lapis Lazuli all are now found in granite. All other ores have been adjusted to only spawn on higher levels than this. Many other blocks also have been added such as Marble, Red Clay, Slate, Basalt, White Granite and one block I will keep as a secret. All the new Blocks have there own hardness levels that will vary depending on the real life hardness (ie: Granite and Basalt are quite hard while Marble and Slate are weaker).
Beside the new rock layer generation there also is special generation for marble in large deposits above the granite level and White Granite in the granite level. Granite can also spawn in deposits above it's own level as well. Shale will spawn below water around sea level. Red Clay and gravel will now spawn underneath dirt around the sea level. The large random deposits of gravel near water has been changed to cobble stone with the chance of mossy cobble stone mixed in, To produce a more rocky weathered river bed look which I believe was originally intended. Basalt is now created when lava meets water instead of cobblestone and around lava pools naturally.
A few new recipes have been added for clay. You can bow make a clay bowl and put it into a furnace to bake it into a usable bowl. With the new type of clay comes with its own times of bricks and brick blocks, Including a mix between the two.

Granite and White Granite - Granite is a common hard igneous rock. It is found on the bottom 25 layers of the world and can also be generated in large deposits at any height. White Granite can only be found in large deposits around layer 25 and below. Can only be mined with Iron tools and above, its quite hard and has decent blast resistance.Quick Sand - Quick sand can spawn anywhere there there is sand and has about the same spawn rate as diamonds. It is usually spawned in a medium sized deposit. WARNING! You can suffocate in it if you sink too far! Harvested with a shovel. Only spawns in desert biomes.
Basalt - Basalt is a hard igneous rock formed from lava flows. Lava now hardens into Basalt instead of cobblestone, also found around lava pools. Can only be mined with Iron tools and above, its quite hard and has decent blast resistance.Shale - Shale is a flaky layered sedimentary rock. Shale is found in medium sized deposits under/near water around sea level. Shale is a fairly weak rock and can be crafted with 9 flint. [Future plans: turn shale into a half block]
Marble - Marble is a metamorphic version of limestone. Marble can be found anywhere in limestone in large deposits. Marble is only slightly stronger than limestone, and can only be mined with stone/copper tools and above.
Red Clay - New form of clay that forms under dirt around sea level. Can be used the same as normal clay which is now referred to as gray clay.Bricks - Red clay and Gray clay can now form two different colored brick blocks and can mixed using alternating brick items on creation.
Lapis Lasuli, Diamond, Redstone - Are now only found in granite so their backgrounds and hardness now reflect this change.
Limestone, Cobble, Mossy - Stone has now been changed to limestone but all stats are the same.Coal, Iron, Gold - Have now all been changed to spawn above granite, and has a limestone backgroundSandstone - Sandstone is now a new block of my creation, it spawns as is before under sand but in greater quantities. You can still make the old sandstone the same as before but it is renamed as sandstone bricks.Gneiss - Bedrock has been changed to a very hard metamorphic igneous rock, texture changed. Still unbreakable.
Cobblestone, Mossy, Gravel - Large deposits of gravel on the surface (mostly near water) have been changed to cobble stone for a rocky riverbed effect. Has a chance to create a Mossy cobblestone mixed in.Gravel - Now forms under dirt around sea level like Red clay.Underground Dirt and Gravel - underground deposits over these materials have been decreased in size and amount as well as only spawns higher than Granite.More Images:_____________________________________________________________________
Clay Bowl - Can be made with the normal bowl pattern using either type raw clay balls. Once baked in a furnace it turns into a normal empty bowl.
Iron and Gold - Have now changed to drop iron and gold ore item instead of an ore blocks. These ores can be smelted into ingots just as before.Alternative Update [GeoTools Addon]:
Copper - Copper ore has been added. It can be found around layers 55 to 100. Copper is fairly common but in small deposits. Copper ore can be melting into ingots and made into blocks same as other metals. [ Future: Copper will be used in ReTool to make the tools to replace stone tool level ]
Tin - Tin ore has been added. It can be found around layers 20 to 30. Tin is fairly rare and forms in small deposits.
Bronze - Bronze can be made by combing a Tin ingot and a block of Copper and then smelted. This is temporary a better/harder way to get Bronze will be made in a future update. [ Future: Bronze will be used in ReTool to make the tools to above iron tool level ]
Steel - Steel can be made by combing a coal and a block of Iron and then smelted. This is temporary a better/harder way to get Steel will be made in a future update. [ Future: Steel will be used in ReTool to make the tools to above bronze tool level ]
Iron Rods - Iron Rods are a metal form of sticks. Crafted with two iron ingots producing 4 rods. Iron fences can by made the same way as wooden ones with iron rods.
Gravel, Sand, Dirt, Clay - Had their hardness increased very slightly to make using shovels more useful.
Iron Ore - Changed to spawn less but in slightly bigger deposits. Because of the decrease in layers for it to spawn in.
Coal Ore - Changed to spawn slightly less. Because of the decrease in layers for it to spawn in.
Warning: This will remove both wooden and stone tools and change a few of the others.
Flint Spear / Tool and Clay Spade- Flint spear instead of a sword and a Flint Tool that works as an Pickaxe and axe. The clay spade works as a shovel. [ Future: Clay Spade will work like a hoe and Flint Spear will be able to be thrown. ]Copper Tools, Mace / Hammer / Axe / Shovel - Same recipes but hammer instead of pickaxe and mace instead of sword.
Iron Tools - mostly the same and now the only tier with a hoe
Bronze Tools, Halberd / Pickaxe / Axe / Shovel - Same recipes but with iron rods and leather for the sword.Steel Tools, Halberd / Pickaxe / Axe / Shovel - Same recipes but with iron rods and leather for the sword.
Diamond Tools - Mostly the same but with iron rods and leather for the sword.
Hardness - A large amount of blocks have had their harness increased to make tools and their upgrades more worth it.
Ores - Many ores have had their tool tiers adjusted to match the new tool tiers. Meaning the materiel of the tools ores can be mined with has been changed.
Tools - Many tools have gained more blocks they are effective against, including vanilla minecraft blocks. Tools now take extra damage from being used on blocks they are not meant for.
Leaves and Gravel - Leaves now have a chance to drop sticks, and Gravel has had its drop chance of flint increased.
[All mentioned above have been implemented but I have a lot more planned for future releases =D ]
(This mod has no relation with the suggestions and forum topic made by Metadigial's GeoCraft Both the name and the idea of this mod were thought up by me before I even knew than Metadigial's existed. So I have no intentions of following the ideas made in that forum although the concepts are very similar.)

Jan 12, 2011Kwickgamer posted a message on A Realm of Darkness... The Nyx! [Update and Redo.]“A place of eternal darkness, the Nyx is populated by the lost souls who are fit for neither heaven nor hell. Lo, should a greedy adventurer enter this place, he shall be gorged upon by these raveged souls.”Posted in: Suggestions
The Nyx, would be land of eternal night, with a skybox that is pitch black.
Entering the Nyx:
The Nyx would be enterable by creating a cornerless portal out of Soul Sand, with Glowstone corners. When entering the Nyx for the first time, you have a 25% chance of being deposited in the Nyx without a portal back to the overworld.
The Nyx would be a barren wasteland with only the occasional structure, and would be very very flat, except for the occasional one block change in elevation. There is the occasional 10-30 deep chasm aboveground, and light would travel half as far in the Nyx then in the regular world.
Dungeons in the Nyx are similar to regular dungeons, however, instead of a mob spawner, there is a 40% chance of specter. Also, instead of cobble and mossy cobble, the dungeons are made of ChillStone
Loot: The chests usually contain Shadow Glass(80%), Gold(70%), and/or Soul Shards(50%).
Please Note: These Images are only rough and basic mockups, and they only to help you imagine what the block would look like. Eventually they will be re-skinned to look much better.
This block makes up most of the Nyx, much like Netherrack. It can be mined by hand at the same speed as dirt. Uses: when Smelted, it will produce Shadow Glass. Also, when crafted in a 3x3 square, it creates Shadestone.
This blocks lowers the light level in a 5x5 radius by 5.
Shadow Glass is see-through just like glass, but it stops all light from passing through it.
Uses: A look-see into mob traps, without inhibiting spawning.
Grave Slush is a solid block and doesn’t flow. It appears randomly in 3-5 block deep pools in the Nyx. It’s about as rare as above-ground coal.
Whilst in Grave Slush you fall faster then in water, but slower then in air, and your movement speed is decreased to 1/4th. You also lose 2 bubbles per second you’re in Grave Slush, making it very easy to drown.
Uses: Mob traps/ player traps
Sucks in all heat up to 5 blocks away; any torches, fire, lava ect. Will not give off heat, but will still give of light, allowing you to have frozen water and light at the same time. Chillstone appears in small 3-7 block high 1x1 pillers randomly around the Nyx. Pillars appear in groups, often near Grave Slush. It can be found underground with a rarity of Iron ore.
Uses: Lit ice.
Stone that levitates anything in a 5 block radius. Appears above chasms aboveground, with gravel floating next to it; also appears in cave systems below-ground. Gravitational field is disabled when Gravium is disabled when exposed to live Redstone.
Uses: floating sand bridges, floorless walkways, ect.
A mob designed to scare you, found only in Nyx Dungeons. When a specter latches on to you, it will follow you even into the regular world. Whilst possessed, you would get a glimpse of the specter standing outside your window, or in a dark corner in a cave somewhere, or on top of a hill, ect. The specter would disappear if 50% of it was ever in your screen at one time.
A specter could only be killed by creating sealed room with a gold block in the middle. When a specter goes within ten blocks of a gold block or 5 blocks of gold ore, it will go insane, screech, and then charge at you, dealing 2.5 hearts of damage per hit. A specter has ten health.
(Thanks to Dark Auk for the image)
An aggressive mob found fairly commonly around the Nyx, it appears to be the tattered remains of what was once a human, walking all fours.
Growlers Cannot climb ladders
Growlers drown extremely quickly
It runs at twice your speed, and makes only strange mumbling noises. It attacks by swiping at you with it hands, dealing 1.5 damage per hit. It has 8 health.
The Nyth is fairly uncommon around the Nyx, and appears to be a slightly transparent human with pure white eyes.
a Nyth will only attacked if it is attacked first. The Nyxian has 14 hearts.
It does 3 hearts of damage a hit. And is Found rarely in groups.
A Nyth can only be damaged by a soul sword,or a golden sword.
Taints are rare, and are also hostile.
Taints ones would look like black apparitions that are around 2-5 blocks tall and 1-2 blocks wide, they hover above the ground but do not fly more then 5 blocks up.
They have 15 hearts, and attack by shooting balls of icy darkness, if it hits you you will be slowed.
5% chance to incase you in ice for 2 seconds. 0-3 soul shards are dropped on death.
-A giant human skeleton from Japanese folklore, said to be created by gathering remains of those who have died of starvation.
-They are 10 blocks tall
-Very rare spawn.
-50% player speed.
-Once one spawns the player(s) will hear a faint ringing sound. This sound lasts until it either despawns or gets killed.
-Instead of a normal attack, it would bend down and pick up a player (player must be within grabbing range; several blocks) and pull the player up to their head. They would then bite the player causing 8 hearts of base damage and then drop them, causing bonus fall damage.
-Drops 13-20 Bones and/or 5-15 Sturdy Bones upon death.
-Probably best to run while you can. But if you really want to kill it, do it in SMP and hope the lag doesn't get you first.
