1.4.7 has only a three or four, very minor changes. In general, mods for 1.4.6 work on 1.4.7 and vice versa.

I see... I suspected as much hmm...

Do pyramids count towards this, or am I gonna have to build one to join the "In" crowd?

Could always make a hybrid building of a tower/pyramid? usually my main structure is a pyramid though its in a star shape instead of the 4 corners type of pyramid. Just for image sake of what I'm talking about.

was a building I did during one of my older worlds before I had to make a new world due to some new mods that required new world gen to get the ores that come with them.

Holy Schnikes! O_O the two pure nodes I had going merged together, the resultant merge caused 1 of the 3 nodes I had planned to merge together to divert itself and head towards the now larger pure node... the result is this massive pure node with over 700 extra aura. Well... that's certainly a large amount of excess aura I'd do say... I expect to see some infused ore popping up around my house with that much :D

Lol. me and my friend where playing on a LAN server, and this is his first time even seeing the new Thaumcraft 3 release, and I teach him how to make a Crucible, and I turned around and got some stuff out of a chest, and when I turned back around, he had filled the Crucible with a ████ load of Rotten Flesh and Bones. I laugh at it at first, and told him to right click it with his Wand. I regretted it, because the Silverwood tree we built our base around started spewing out Hostile Wisps left and right... Apparently he throw in 7 full stacks of Rotten Flesh a 3 stacks of Bones. >.<

    Ouch... lol

    Quote from ScottKillen

I see we have quite the conversation going regarding Biomes O' Plenty. Those who have been here a while know how I dislike gossip or speculation...so let me set the record straight:

TDWP_FTW, the creator of Biomes O' Plenty, was a member of the ExtrabiomesXL team early on. In fact, he was instrumental in helping MisterFiber develop the first version of ExtrabiomesXL. This is the main reason that a lot of the biomes in BoP look similar to what you all see in ExtrabiomesXL: Because TDWP_FTW was there at the beginning and either designed, or worked closely with Mister Fiber to design biomes that live on today in this mod. TDWP_FTW is listed in ExtrabiomesXL's credits as an author and always will be.

TDWP_FTW did not code his mod on purpose so that it would not work with ExtrabiomesXL. Its just that the methods he chose were incompatible, incidently, but not on purpose.

TDWP_FTW is an amazing artist. If you google his nick, you will find examples of his music, other games and a very successful Minecraft texturepack. ClockWorkHearts is dead on about the beauty of TDWP_FTW's biomes. The screenshots are great examples.

Regardless of what you may have heard, the history is not important. It should be enough for me to say that TDWP_FTW and I are on very good terms. As soon as I heard he was retiring, I approached TDWP about his content. It would really be a shame for it to die on the vine. TDWP wholeheartedly embraced the idea and gave his full permission.

    The Future

ClockworkHearts is right: ExtrabiomesXL has not reached its full potential.

Recently, Nightshade gave us the right to use the content from Forgetten Nature, and TDWP_FTW agreed to let us use his biomes; however, we have more plans beyond acquiring other's content:

If you follow the development team on github, you can see some of our plans on the issues list. More than that, we have development specs for features that are not currently in the issues list. Currently, we have two "full-time" designers and two other "part-time" designers. In fact, anyone (literally anyone) can contribute a design.

If you see a feature you want, you can expedite it by providing a design and then working with the official design team to work out the kinks.

We currently have one code-monkey...me. :D But, the way the project is set up, ANYONE can contribute code. If you have an interest, create a fork on github, branch of of the development branch and get to work.

The big bottleneck is me...so many plans, so few hands. ;)

Something that many of you may not know is that I am a contributor to the Minecraft Forge project. ClockworkHearts mention my IT project (IntelligentTerrain) and that may never see the light of day as a standalone project, but the Forge team has been very receptive of my changes and those will help move Extrabiomes closer in the direction of what it truly needs to be.

SilverFire asked for a timeline for full FN integration. I don't have one. One of the new features coming to forge is the ability to spawn trees at the same time as vanilla trees, and even change the way vanilla trees grow. Rather than dump a bunch of content on you, we are integrating content more slowly, but planning it in such a way that it will keep the quality of this mod at a high level.

And you guys see me on the forums all of the time...and again in this big post...but you need to know that I am a small, but very visible part of things here. There are several people working behind the scenes that love Minecraft and love Extrabiomes enough to contribute significant time to it. I am grateful to all of them and want to make it clear that when you see something you like in the mod...they probably did it.

Finally, this is a community mod in every sense of the word. We have 20 to 30 thousand downloads every time we release a version. Surely, we have artists and programmers in that large crowd who want to contribute, but feel like they can't approach us for one reason or another... Please don't let that stop you. There are no egos on the development team and we are approachable. We want need your help!
    1. This is almost always a problem with performance or hardware.
    2. The FAQ explains this: https://github.com/E...ki-biomecontrol

O_o geez Scott it's like ExtrabiomesXL is eating up all the other biome mods out there and terraforming the mod into something newer, bigger and dangerous :P

Oh look more whiners wanting the easy stuff. See what happens when stuff is spoon fed to them? Grow fat, lazy and not wanna work for anything and expect things to be handed to them on a silver platter.

That aside... Liking what I'm seeing so far Pahimar keep up the good work and keep ignoring the people whining about you removing stuff that made the mod too easy.

Well interesting news to hear about. I glanced at FN a little while back but I didn't try out the mod I'm too stuck on liking my extrabiomesXL :D Personally I like the idea of the mods merging. Instead of people wanting something from this mod and another mod and run into conflicts instead later down the road they don't have to worry anymore ;)

Thought I'd share my house set up in a Redwood biome :D :P

Took a bit to build this thing... lots of glowstone, redwood planks and stone bricks. Also the glass you see is hardened glass from Thermal Expansion.
