posted a message on Misa's Realistic texture Pack - 1.8 Addon by THBird [20 june 2015]

    Hey,

Do you plan to continue working on this? I love the textures, and except the flowers, everything else is much closer to the original feel than of the other addon from Les. I even use your prismarine instead of the updated misa original, but the block animation I think is going from too green to too blue, if you know what I mean.

I also added / fixed red sandstone connected textures, download here

posted a message on Make terrain elevation and variance just like Beta - Why can't we have both the mountains and our added biomes?
What people posting images with mountains in amplified worlds forget is that Beta 1.7.3 was cool because we had variation. Yes, it didn't have biomes, but you didn't know what's around the corner. Now you know exactly how every biome looks even before you go there.

What the current generator is missing is exactly variety. Every feature in the new generator is limited to a single biome. If we want variation, that has to change. Small examples:

    • small mountains in oceans
    • less trees in some places in forests
    • random trees where they don't usually spawn
    • rivers with big delta
    • temples in forest biome
    • why not hills in swamps?
But aside those small things, the big one is bigger XYZ variation in every biome (not only height). After that is the smooth transition between biomes. If you don't know what biome you're in, if the biomes are more randomized in terms of generation and placement, you really won't know whats out there - and that's the cool thing about beta 1.7.3 and older.

I remember playing an old version with friends, probably a few versions before 1.7.3. I didn't care if we had swamps, jungles, potions, horses, dragons or anything else we have now, but I'll always remember that it was random and simply fun.

One thing that you may know, the window size: maximized option doesn't work in newer versions, but works for example in beta 1.7.3.

Do you plan on some alternative textures? Bricks and nether bricks being brown instead of red is somewhat questionable, also glowstone identical with lamps, and some other things..

posted a message on Looking for survival server to call home
    Hi,

I have a small server - 20 slot, no pvp, whitelist, hard difficulty. I run it on my pc, and I'm in Europe. We have people from UK, US and other countries, they don't report any lag. Usually the problem is in their net. We're focused on building huge projects, like cities, all on survival. All players are mature, even though some of them are under 18. We also don't allow any commands, don't lock chests, because we trust each other. The only changes to vanilla are that creepers returtn 100% of the blocks, endermen don't pick up blocks, and we use worldguard to stop mobs from spawning in certain regions like the spawn. You're free to build anything anywhere in the main world or join someone else's project. We have a secondary world that we use for mining resources and recreate every update. If you like it, you can read more and apply in this thread or directly in our website: hmcp.enjin.com

posted a message on Sonic Ether's Unbelievable Shaders [compatible with Minecraft 1.12.2 via OptiFine]
    Quote from FastCraft

I might be wrong here (Last I used this was mid 2013) but the only difference between standard and ultra is exactly that. Slightly lower image quality. IIRC, in the composite files in the shaderpack you should be able to edit variables (Such as vignette) and comment them out with a program such as notepad++.

Ok thanks, managed to find vignette and ambient noon light.
Any ideas where to find and what to edit to reduce the blue fog effect?

What's the difference between Standard and Ultra? I noticed only lower shadow resolution and no DOF on standard. And any way to remove vignette?

edit: how to reduce brightness during day? preview2 was better in that area, i literally cannot see the texture on the sandstone and sand.
