I have run a normal installation from the regular minecraft, and I've also tried running after deleteing my .minecraft folder. I get the error below and I have no idea what I need to do to fix this. I get the same error on MCPatcher even when I attempt to manually adjust the directory.

You need to have the base Minecraft launcher to install any of these things. The base luncher can be found at http://www.minecraft.net

As I said in my first post I can use both launchers just fine. (Probably could have worded the original post better, sorry.)

EDIT: I just tried deleting my .minecraft folder and running the regular launcher (then I ran minecraft forge again) and I get the same error.

I get this error on both MCPatcher and Optifine and I've run both my tekkit and regular launchers and they work just fine. What am I doing wrong?

EDIT: I can't install Minecraft Forge, either. (That's what the photo is of.) Also, when I attempt to manually select the .minecraft folder with MCPatcher it still doesn't detect a launcher profile.

posted a message on NEI Not Working
I'm hosting this on my computer, I can give myself items by using numbers from the NEI list + the 'give' command, but, I can't click and spawn them from the list.

SOLVED: I had NEI in Utility mode, not cheat mode.

I'm starting a minecraft server (currently using 1.7.2 Tekkit) and I can't seem to get items using NEI. I can press "o" and endable it, I can grab items in stacks of 64 on my mouse, but when I try to drop them in to my board they just disappear. I can't drop them on the ground either. Any ideas?
