posted a message on Feather falling needs a change.

Short answer? Nah. Long answer? No. Explained answer? Slow falling completely negates any and all fall damage due to the aspect of falling slow. Feather falling, is more in line with the phrase "light on your feet", implying less of an impact when you hit the ground. Most people are going to utilize Feather Falling over a Slow Fall Potion of any kind, since Feather Falling is likely easier to get. And with consideration to all the "clutch" options, having either of those options is redundant. Different people play different ways and like using different things. I suck with the clutches, and brewing potions isn't something I realistically like doing. Feather falling is something that's always active as long as you have the boots equipped, whereas with the potion, you have to constantly reapply it, and potentially waste all the potions you end up making.

posted a message on Bears in minecraft.

If new bears get added, they'd probably work just like the Polar Bears. Can't breed them, can't tame them. When killed, I could see them dropping Fish, or a Honey block (Bottles of honey seem off, but so does the block as a drop). Maybe they can be an aggressive mob.

posted a message on More iron?

So touching back on the "ease of obtaining" iron, I've started noticing that finding Tuff with Iron ore like below, is a pretty good source of iron. I've found several patches like that and dug through the Tuff, and found most of the iron in my inventory in the second screenshot.

posted a message on Getting the Mending enchantment

In 1.20, it was an experimental feature you could toggle on and off, and I'm pretty sure it would be off by default. The chance to get any one specific enchantment, is pretty low, so it's all about luck at that point.

posted a message on Rabbit Hide doesn't need to exist

I see what you mean now about Mojang changing their minds on how to make bundles. 3-4 snapshots of back and forth using Rabbit Vs Cow hides.

The only other thing I can think of now, is that since Rabbit Hide (and likely Rabbits) have been in the game for just about 10 years now with no real use (made it something that can be sold to Villagers in 1.14), they're trying to find something mildly iconic to craft with it. Cow leather is used to make books, which are used to make enchanting setups, and can be used to make leather armor which can be dyed in so many colors, but hardly get made in lieu of getting Iron Armor and Tools relatively easily. Defaulting to using something in a recipe that already has some well known uses in other recipes, just doesn't seem right. Mojang also doesn't seem to want to remove items entirely once they've been added to a main, numbered version (1.XX Vs Snapshots). They replace items, with the only one I can think of being the Raw Fish item with Cod.

And Considering that an Uncommon Mob, is found in Uncommon Biomes, that makes sense why it would take the effort it does to get such a useful early game item, especially when you take into consideration the amount of effort it takes to get the Clearly better "end game" item, Shulker Boxes.

I mean, data is data. It's probably an average of thousands of players and worlds. It's not a definitive "This is how every world is, and how every experience is going to be seen". Outliers exist, clearly shown in my screenshots. Clearly expressed by OP.

From what I remember hearing/reading about 1.18, they did in fact change how caves generate. They tend to be more cavernous rather than what seemed like copy/pasted circular rooms attached to noodle like tunnel systems with the occasional ravine and mine shaft. They also had to change the ore distribution, and had lowered the total amount of Iron Ore that generates to allow more room for the newly introduced Copper Ore at the time. So there is in fact, not more iron generated in the world, but it does seem easier to find and obtain, with "easy" being subjective and possibly different interpretations per person.

posted a message on Crows that can barter and trade

So flesh this out a little more.

What would you give the crows, and what kinds of useful, but not overpowered items could they give in return? Balance is important with these things, so adding something like Diamonds to the barters wouldn't be a good idea.

So I'm not allowed to post screenshots to continue the conversation in the vein of "More iron?" because you and Caver are going to dissect things that don't particularly matter here. It's almost like you guys seem to enjoy your own words and talk for sake of talking instead of keeping on topic and thread. I'll remember this going further and stop myself from posting too much from now on.

    Have a great day.

While uncommon, they share a similar issue you brought up with cows. There is only a chance at both Cows and Rabbits dropping their respective leather.

Also, again, while uncommon, if you find a Rabbit in their spawnable biomes, you'll likely find 2-3 more nearby. After that, breeding them renders the "rarity" issue moot.

Considering what the Size of the bundle realistically is, using the smaller Rabbit Leather to make it, makes more sense than using the bigger Cow Leather.

posted a message on How to download an old version?

Bedrock and Java are two different versions of the game, and have different features (Usually minor with no impact on playability).

    Below are some screenshots.

First one shows what loading up Java looks like.

Second shows the installations tab where you should go next.

Third shows where to change your version from Current 1.21, to whichever version you need.

    Hope this helps somehow.

posted a message on can you give me java minecraft tips

Find a spot with decent wood access like a forest, to get materials to build a starting home with basic storage.

Find a suitable food supply. Seeds from grass grow into wheat, which can be made into bread or used to breed Cows or Sheep.

Make sure you have an Iron Pickaxe before you mine diamonds.

Explore your surroundings and make sure you slept at a bed to set your spawn in case of death (Doesn't apply in Hardcore mode).

posted a message on More iron?

As far as I'm aware, Mobs don't just instantly spawn when you get to a new spot. I quite literally dropped down, and took the screenshots. Being on Easy, also lowers spawns somewhat. I'm not about the challenge, as I am about just gathering resources easily. I used to use torches, but thought it easier to make Night vision potions so i don't miss things as often.

Even with night vision, I'm leaving behind a fair amount in the ceilings, and only really going for the stuff I can walk to.

Screenshot below shows how much I've gathered over 2 1/2 hours (More like 1 - 1 1/2 hours of actual gameplay as I'm also doing other things). There's also so many side tunnels that I'm just not going down or other portions of the main cave I'm not checking for now. Quantity does not mean ease of obtaining. Should note, that this is all from a cave I found on the surface that's taken me to deepslate.

So I just came across this cave system. This is what my caves typically look like. Plenty of exposed Iron, Gold, Redstone, Lapis, and even some exposed Diamonds. If they wanted to make it harder to find resources like this, why is this so common for me? Seems like it did get easier to find things in caves, and less easy(Not by much) to find things on the surface.
