Why does everyone think I made this suggestion because I want better graphics? I made one little part about it, literally said it was the least important suggestion in the series and I wanted to get it out of the way, and quickly moved on.
The graphics mention was just a brief example.
Anyway, while it is technically true that Minecraft 2 is not needed, you can say that for pretty much every other suggestion on this forum, so it's not really the most valid argument. And yes, if my ideas get implemented there is sense in a Minecraft sequel as you would otherwise have to completely rebalance and recode the game, and as previous updates taught us, such a major overhaul as an update is a bad idea.
This doesn't compare to normal suggestions. Adding a small thing to the game is not an entire sequel. There's no story, there's nothing to continue off of. Not really worth the time and money to pump out another sandbox sequel with meh changes here and there and have a whole 'nother game to keep updating.
But seriously, for the hopefully final time, can you guys please stop with the "We don't need a Minecraft 2" negativity? I explained in Part 1 that yes, you are right, but that I believe the game would only benefit from a good sequel. The whole reason I post these suggestions here is to get feedback on the suggestions themselves. Arguing about whether or not we should have a sequel misses the point.
Some of the things you suggested are not what makes minecraft likable. If you honestly think there's just benefits from an unneeded sequel, there is an entire line of thought that flew straight over you.
I doubt my vision of Minecraft 2 would ever come to fruition, but I hope to convince people that a Minecraft sequel is feasible.
Yeeeah I think it's safe to say a Minecraft 2 isn't happening altogether. It's not needed at all. I'm not trying to dump on your threads but there's no sense in a sequel for a game like this. New graphics and whatnot doesn't mean "better game".
Yeah. I don't really see the big deal. What's overpowered about players sleeping while keeping their home spawn?
Dude, he told you many times and it flew right over your head. He's saying beds are useful, and sleeping bags are little too useful. Hence the overpowered. That's what the 'big deal' is. There's such thing as "too much of a good thing" which the sleeping bag leans toward.
Adding more ores just because we haven't gotten any for a long time is not good reasoning at all. There's also not much point at all in adding these... Enchantments already give us the buffs we want and the Californium is basically a painfully rare super ore. Why do we need another villager currency?
What unique thing does this provide over any other food? It provides more options for Mojang to do things like make pasta recipes and hamburger recipes since they now have the tomato to do so with.
It's still another food sprite among more food sprites. Those recipes you mentioned don't sound game-fitting at all (which would also be more food sprites we can cram down our faces).
Or you could just change the textures manually for every season. And for a more lively experience you could just install forge and add a season mod. There are several out there.
There's really no sense in bringing up mods here. This forum is solely about the vanilla game.
Right now this seems to be fueled on "it would be cool"... You aren't gonna see past a certain distance anyway, so I don't see this providing all that much.
Gonna bring up the two suggestions that were deleted:
- Saying "well that's your opinion". This ruins the chance to better your idea as you're just mentioning that someone disagrees with you (which was already made clear the first time) and accomplishes nothing. This is even worse when your idea is overall bad as going "well these guys just have a different viewpoint than me!" is leaving the bad idea to be bad without any fixes.
- Going from "support this fantastic, genius idea! Someone make me a banner, someone tell Notch right now guys this is gonna be biggg!!" Then after seeing 3 no support's, we now read "Woah guys this just text on a forum calm down this idea doesn't exist relax pleasse!!"
Guide should mention to not just cater a suggestion toward yourself or a specific type of player. "Oh boy if you love classic MC ur gonna love this!" What if I didn't like the old version of the game?
Again, never said he should be added, I was adding on to this by simply saying that if he ever would be added, which he really shouldn't, they should wait till Minecraft is basically dead and opinions change or whatever...
I don't think you understand how smart game design works in the slightest. Who waits until a game is "dead" to add something like that? Opinions don't matter either. Easily one of the weirdest things I've read here.
Whatever, your opinion. I was just saying if he were ever to be introduced, this is the point that they should introduce it, not anywhere before.
Dude I don't even...
If an idea is bad, it's bad. You can't pick a different time to implement it to make it unbad. What developer in their right mind would wait "until they don't like their game anymore"? That is so nonsensical.
The point here is that there are different levels of problem that suggestions can have. Bad presentation is one thing, but there are also suggestions that are odious (the phrase "mowing down villagers" is a good hint), or fundamentally unbalanced, or don't fit within vanilla Minecraft's developed theme and character. We can help people with spelling, grammar, organization. We sometimes can give hints about balance, if the OP can get past "I want I want I want!".
Some people refuse to see their mistakes. They just want to argue argue argue and never understand that the problem is the suggestion and not us. You think Herobrine thread #223 or Make new combat optional thread #482 would be enough to spark something in people's heads but not really.
Then there's fresh new accounts that read this guide, and then do the exact opposite of what it says just to mess with us but not enough as to elude the mods, because apparently people are that bored in life. Anyway, people hear the words "Army of creepers" of their heads and just go with it without even thinking about how it truly would play out because people get all bubbly and overexcited over their own ideas.

You described the creature accurately, but it has some pointless attributes.

What unique thing does this provide over any other food? Right now it sounds like just another edible sprite.

So let's add them just because basically?
