Please, for the person who will present the news, have someone who actually has played Minecraft and knows what they're talking about. I'll refrain from being unnecessarily insulting of your current choice. She has so far provided information in a rather annoying fashion. She quite obviously falsely states having knowledge of Minecraft, but the second she plays the game, she clearly does not. It would seem you only chose her for her looks and then fed her the information. Personally, I do not find this necessary. I don't care how the person presenting the information looks, all I want is someone who knows what they are talking about. It would be best if the one presenting the information would also be the one who created it or worked in developing it in the first place to better improve how they present it.
This is my only big issue. My main suggestion towards the content is to provide everything you listed. There are a ton of places I can already get news on Minecraft from. However, I don't know of one that has a large team of people working to provide news through videos that go very in depth in every area of Minecraft. Make sure to give the community ways to get engaged in your videos too.

Nov 6, 2011AcidicTaco posted a message on Weekly Content Contest; Moderator ApplicationsAre you ****ing kidding me? You guys have got to get some better policies and ideas for your contests. The last one was a fail because jolicraft already had a halloween texture pack out. And due to jolicraft's huge popularity it was inevitable it would win the contest whether or not it was actually the best halloween texture pack. This is probably going to be the same situation as there are already plenty of steampunk mods out there. The time frame for this one is even more ridiculous. Creating a good mod takes much longer then creating a good texture pack. Therefore I can almost guarantee a mod made prior to this will win, therefore defeating the purpose of this contest. If your going to try and connect to the community, do it in such a way that doesn't make you look dumb.Posted in: News
The easiest way to get rid of this issue would be to simply create a policy in contests that stated that no creations made prior to the creation of the contest can be entered. The reason should be obvious as those contestants would have an unfair advantage on having more work done on their creation then other contestants.
Honestly, you should have a contest for contest ideas. You can easily engage anyone in the community since everyone on the forums is capable of entering as they do not lack any necessary talents since none are required.
Contests are not a bad idea. You just need to put more thought in to them. - To post a comment, please login.

How long have you been playing Minecraft?: 5 years? I don't keep track anymore and don't play as much.
Anything in Minecraft you're particularly skilled at?: General construction of building is probably my strongest point, but I have a lot knowledge in other many areas.
Can you share something about yourself?: I'm a musician and PC gaming enthusiast. I also watch my fair share of anime.

Why would you like to join us: I have to much downtime between games, so I'm just looking for a quiet server to build on with not a lot of plugins.

With my friends and coworkers wanting to play Overwatch and Grim Dawn, I'm not online as much, so I should probably recommend this now.
For where all the mario kart courses and arenas will go, you should make a separate world with no building permissions for all regular players, but only interaction and pvp permissions. This removes clutter from the regular world and protects against exploits. Also one finicky thing I found out about mario kart (they may have updated it to fix this), karts can only travel up blocks with ID 44. Other slabs, stairs, and double slabs will not works. Changing the data value on 44 does work however. You can even place slabs on top of each other and it will travel up them infinitely.
Lastly, here's a course I built awhile back that should work. NOTE: it is very large and will lag the server, so import it when nobody is online or use MCedit and add it in offline and then upload the map. https://www.dropbox.com/s/fhe9fxovp77rdfp/ArcaniteGorge.schematic?dl=0

Gonna get some lunch and then I can finally start building the Manor I've been working in single-player for on the server.

Apparently I'm not whitelisted. I'd try adding my name again or try using AcidicTaco, my former username.

But I'm completely fine with you officially hosting my work. I'd just prefer it that accredit me as 'Acid-Notation' instead (tagging this url with my name is optional, but preferred). Eventually, I will get around to updating all blocks I want to having 3D models, but that might be in like a month. Once I get to that point it shouldn't be to hard to keep up to date with new additions and changes.

I am unaware of the performance effects of running with these models. I have a somewhat high-end machine, so I don't know how the additional voxels will perform on other computers. Something like wild grass now uses about 20 voxels over the original 2, so stuff like that is what would cause a problem with this.

To install, you will need to place the folder inside your current Dandelion texture pack folder. Putting it in a separate folder may not work.
Screenshot of most of the stuff (sea lantern not included, due to changes in texture)
