The Story of the Games 22 years have passed since the 75th Hunger Games. During the 75th Hunger Games, the star-crossed lovers, Peeta Mellark and Katniss Everdeen perished at the hands of those they believed to be their friends: Peeta met his end when he ran into the force field that enclosed the arena and Katniss, ironically, was burned in a fire started by Brutus and Enobaria. Finnick Odair was named as the victor of the 75th Hunger Games, although he committed suicide 12 years later from the emotional trauma. In today’s times, the Capitol has enforced stricter rules, incredibly inhumane methods of punishment, and the Hunger Games is an even more torturous event. Instead of a Reaping, contestants are kidnapped from their homes in the dead of night and sent to the deployment tubes, where they wait until daylight for the bloodshed to commence…
You are one of those tributes, May the odds be ever in your favor, and let the games begin. The arena has become even more of a perilous death trap with many different traps and such being located in the arena. Only the smart and very lucky are liable to survive. There are 214 chests located around the arena filled with either great fortune or demise. There are several large effigies marked around the map with beacons. Not all effigies are marked. Since the Capitol became more strict with their rules and more brutal, so have the traps. Some traps may involve the players being forced to eat Nightlock so beware.
