Why do you want to join this server?: I'm coming from a very small, tight-knit server that disbanded a while back, and am looking for somewhere I can hang out and relax, building some cool stuff and chatting with folks without worrying about factions or griefers or whatnot.
Have you read & agree on the Rules?: Yup, seems like basic common sense stuff to me. (16)

Try the FTB forums for help with FTB issues. Most people on these forums (including myself) won't be able to help you with non-vanilla questions.

posted a message on You Ask, Mojang Answers: Minecraft Realms Info!
I don't think that any of the big servers will have to worry about Minecraft Realms at all. I see it more as something that a group of friends can all pitch in a few bucks for to get a private server that doesn't require any setup. If my friends decide to do that, I'll certainly join, but I doubt I'll stop playing on my favorite larger server.

posted a message on Pickaxe is unrepairable
    Quote from UberFubarius

In the future, IF you are trying enchant anything with powerful enchantment, always rename it each time it goes through the anvil.
Sure, you have to pay 5 additional level each time, but it ensures that your pickaxe don't get the anvil penalty beyond the first one.
If you can't do that on the first pass, you're unlikely to be able to afford it on subsequent passes.

You don't need to rename the tool each time that you rename it: the stop in price increasing applies to any renamed tool. For example, what I usually do is enchant an item at level 30, see if it's good enough to keep repairing, and if it is, I rename it before I ever repair it. After that, the repair costs the same each time you do it, even if you don't rename it each subsequent time.

    I+I=II
    II+II=III
    III+III=IV
    IV+IV=V

Those are the only combinations that will "add" together. Anything else will result in whichever enchantment was highest carrying over to the new item.

Make one of the kind you want, then you can middle click it (if you're in creative) to duplicate a stack of them.

Agreed. Nobody here (I hope) has a thing against caves, but most people with some sense have problems with the infinite spaghetti cave system (note the singular form) found in all Minecraft worlds, and the frequency of gigantic systems.

^This. I love caves, and I remember being so happy when I found one, lit it all up, and got all the ores out. these days, it's impossible to "clear" a cave out, since you'll just keep running into cave after cave after ravine after mineshaft after cave.

posted a message on Fast travel - linked nether portals, or nether rails?
I just check the coords of every overworld location that I want a portal at, divide by 8 to get the Nether coords, then build a portal at both locations BEFORE lighting it. Then all you have to do is build a pathway between your different portals and you're all set to go! It's easier than trying to do the more complex math that comes with trying to see if a portal area is already "claimed" by another portal.

    Quote from Drunkenp0wNeR

most of that is inventory management and does not affect the crafting table. the only thing that does makes it easier to split up stacks, which helps with small numbers of items.

I'm not sure you quite understood the idea here, let me clarify. Get a stack of snowballs or smooth stone (using your examples here) and open your crafting bench. Pick up a stack of items, then drag them with the left mouse key over the four squares you need. Voila, there are instantly an equal amount of items in each slot.
