orange blocks are the tracks, the horizontal block pulls out the track from under the cart, while the "north" piston pushes it onto the track, were it has some momentum and goes in that direction.
How to move button to remote location, is that possible with this design?
Yes, just make sure you point your redstone line or repeater at the block the button is on so that it powers both redstone lines and repeaters on each side of the middle piston.
How about a cannon similar to missile interceptors that have one main cannon and then an auxiliary cannon to fire a shot that alters the course of the projectile in midair?
I did that once to add some rather incredible range and speed.
Run the comparator through that; into some repeaters set to a bit over the detaly it takes for the last item to go through the dropper/hopper conveyor.
Ahh, thank you very much for helping me understand. I appreciate your kindness.
Quick question, does your design automatically push the cart away after its been emptied? Thank you again.
If that bottom repeater was a comparator it would automatically push it away, but in the image it's just a repeater so how would it sense when the cart has finished unloading?
It will automatically power the booster rails; sending the cart back. If the bottom repeater was a comparator ....which is what it is supposed to be ..
Add a second piece of comparator logic to the dropper stack that outputs to the torch (thus keeping the rails depowered) if there are still items to be loaded.
I made a more compact version where there are 2 buttons and 1 opens the portal and the other closes the portal. I'll edit this reply with some screenshots later.
Sorry, but his one-button version is far more impressive then a two button version.
Hi, awesome work btw. I'm sorry but I don't understand how and what would make the minecart drop it's items. I'm returning to MC and don't know all the updates yet but how would the minecart drop it's stuff, is it the redstone power? Apologies if I'm being stupid.
An item introduced in the 1.5 patch called a "Hopper", when a storage block is above it; and the hopper is UNPOWERED it will automatically start to empty that storage block - in this case, minecarts with chests in them.) Similarly if you place a Hopper above a storage block, it will move items into that storage block.
By adding Comparator (another 1.5 item) which will output a signal facing away from a storage block, the signal strength depending on the number of items (0 strength for 0 items, and then adding even just one item outputs a 1-str signal.) Using the comparator and a Hopper enables automatic loading/unloading of minecarts with chests; or just any storage block in general.
Essentially, lines of Hoppers and Droppers (also 1.5) can do similar job to pnumatic pipes from IndustrialCraft style mods.
input is the top line of redstone, which power the blocks below them, on which the RStorches are attached. RSTorches are directly over sticky pistons with a redstone block between them.
Go to the "Redstone Creations" subforum, and check there.
Which is also were most of the good stuff is. Check also for the AI connect 4, there are two really good ones out there. (But those are just. ADVANCED EPIC REDSTONE.)
You can also take a look at the sticky at the top of this forum for the various component circuts (Flipflops, memory latches, gates, etc..)

There is a way, with comparators and a bit of redstone logic.

But what you posted, doesn't work the way you think it does.

Hope that helps (also, check the wiki)

but you can try a different T-FlipFlop.
