He nods in response, saying "I can make it." Jake reaches into the bag and withdraws
Moments later, an announcement sounds throughout the Preparation rooms. "May the odds be never in your favor!"
On the glass partition that everyone thought were doors but actually weren't, a large holographic 10 appears. The number counts down from 10 and when it hits 1, every participant is teleported onto the other side of the partition, their position relative to were they were in the preparation room.
Before the timer even runs out, Jake activates 2 of his 10 explosives and sets them to detonate 2 seconds after the countdown ends. Each explosive was a 1 inch cube with merely a timer on one face. at exactly zero seconds, Jake teleports Vance on top of the mountain and then himself to the other side of the arena. Positioning the teleport to place him in the air so he can see better, Jake appears 100 feet in the air and 20 feet to the right of the enemy team. The moment Jake recognizes his opponents, he teleports the two cubes in the midst of the group. They detonate. The moment after detonation, Jake teleports to the top of the mountain to assist Vance in mounting a bird if he needed the assistance.
(The cubes appear 6 feet off the ground, each one spaced about evenly between the five figures. Each creates an explosion with a 15 foot radius, and are most certainly lethal.)

10... 9... 8... 7... 6... 5... 4... 3... 2... 1...
My team is suddenly teleported into the area outside the partition, just how we were positioned in the preparation room.
Just a second later, I sense a large mass of metal up to my right. That must be the teleporter.
Two seconds after the start, I sense two more metal objects, right between us. I immediately try to protect the most vulnerable of our team, Haley, from this foreign object, most likely some sort of explosive. I directed my second suit which I had offered to Haley, which she had not yet entered, to spread out and wrap around her, hopefully shielding her from whatever those objects were.
Three seconds from the start and both objects that appeared detonated, creating a fiery explosion that engulfed our group entirely. The figure above vanishes the moment their explosives go off as well. Dust and dirt from the explosion fly into my suit and I completely seal up the front to prevent anymore from entering. I wait a few seconds before reopening and rushing to check over Haley.
Zero seconds in, Jake teleports Vance onto the bir-- no wait, the mountain. Jake then releases two explosives and returns to the top next to Vance. As the dust cloud settled, Vance notices David's rather noticeable figure jump clear of the cloud and survey the area.
"Think you got any of them? And could you drop me on one of those birds now, they look pretty nice. Since you did just ditch me on the mountain instead of ditching me onto of one of those majestic birds soaring above."

Awaiting Jake's teleportation onto the bird, Vance attached both of his rifles onto his back, leaving his arms free so he could latch onto the bird if necessary. Obviously it would be able to support his weight, there are Derikan birds now, right? It wasn't TOO far to fall now...
((So... yeah I think we're ready, unless Haley wants to step inside that suit Edonis offered...))

Doors sliding open, Vance smiled as He saw several animals roaming about the area, as well as birds circling above. Two things caught his interest. He wondered how the walls of the arena functioned, and just how capable those birds above were. Tapping on the glass while admiring the arena, He spoke to Jake "Hey see those birds? Think you can teleport me on top of one? I could probably get a better shot off on the other team from there."
From what I could see, the arena's landscape was fairly balanced between biomes, and was probably made to cater towards any many different types of Gifts as possible. "I'll be able to protect you Haley, you could step inside my other suit and I'd be able to tote you around inside that with me while you scout around with your Gift."

Vance/Team ETG/ 2 sniper rifles - 8 clips of ammo, Advanced Prototype Synth Suit.
I checked in at the appropriate counter and moved on to our team's preparation room. Already the rest of my teammates were there, idly chatting or standing by as I came in with my other suit hovering close behind.
Vance checks in and teleports to the preparation room along with Jake and the rest of the team. He nodded in approval at the details of the plan, although he was worried about Christophe cooperation with the team, but it seemed like the others would be able to keep him in line for the time being.

The walk to the factions street was almost enjoyable, you managed to steal 10 dollars off some guys after reaching through the fabric of his bag and pulling it out. The money is spent on a pack of writing utensils for the notebook you got back once you were released. The shopkeeper at the store waves you goodbye as you exit, just a block away from the factions. The plastic box holding the assorted pens was too strong for you to open at the time, so you leave it in your bag and walk onward. You arrive at the Elemental building, not too crowded, and plenty of food left at the tables. You read somewhere that there would be 32 teams of 5, and you could already count more than a fifth of that standing by the food tables. Obviously some of them were here solely for the free food.

Vance paid more attention to the conversations of people entering and exiting the bakery than the conversation going on, although no one could tell. Deemas and Zoey, one of the subjects he bothered listening in on more intently than the others, left for the Elemental faction building as he heard. This prompted his next comment to interrupt Fabian and Nariko.
"As long as he's willing to participate, all's good. Also, we have the faction's teambuilding event going on, shall we all attend?"

Name: Jiol Yvrn
Playing music will summon objects and events from somewhere in the world.
Summon requires pieces of music to be played, either composed by Jiol, or by someone else.
The time it takes to summon certain things completely depends on how long the piece is, and how fast Jiol needs it and plays it.
For objects, he must play a music piece with concentration, and depending on how he plays it, it will produce an object of his choice if he is the one who composed it, or a certain type of object if composed by someone else. The quality of the object depends on how long the piece is, and Jiol’s amount of concentration at the time of playing, or composing. Some pieces only summon one certain object when played, while some can vary in what it summons each time it is played.
ex. when trying to summon a piano. Playing piece A will always summon Piano A, but playing piece B, can summon any sort of piano from around the world.
ex. trying to summon a sword, playing Piece A flawlessly will summon a fine quality sword, but playing it “bad” would summon something of lesser quality or further from the intent of what he wanted summoned.
Playing Piece A would summon Lightning strike. Would take pretty long to play, at least 12 minutes straight of playing or something.
Playing Piece B -- Earthquake? Not that I would have a need for one, or that would would even possibly be occurring at the time I played it, but time would be like, 30 of straight playing.
Playing Piece C Smokescreens -- People are tossing smoke grenades all over the play, summoning one would be that hard, although time would depend on how large the smokescreen is.
(Note, these are just examples, Jiol is not limited to these specifics.)
Jiol can either play pieces through whistling, although he prefers to build his way upward through summoning bigger and bigger instruments.
Whistling -> Harmonica -> Oboe -> Stringed instrument -> Keyboard -> Bigger Piano.
Something like that, he’ll just take forever to setup.
Items will vanish if summoned unspecifically, or is generic, but will return to original position if summoned specifically, or one of a kind, such as a specific piano or a certain handwritten book.
Weaknesses and Limits: Summon takes time, and a great deal of concentration. If he messes up, he generally won’t summon what he wants. Most instruments take both hands, so he’s pretty helpless while he’s playing, and probably doesn’t want to mess up while running away from you.
Appearance: Almost required to be fancy.
Personality: Thinks he’s a better musician than you. Enjoys small talks and idle chatters when unoccupied. Frowns upon inadequacy, and will glance down upon you should it be shown.
History: His parents were Gifted musicians who performed in Brinkhaven. He was taught at a young age the skills to play most types of instruments, and excelled at it, because he’s just that good. He first used his Gift during practice at a concert hall, where he played his piece while thinking of how much better the custom piano at home he had was compared to the one he was using. Sure enough, his home piano, all the way at their apartment had somehow teleported into the concert hall before teleporting right back a while later. Once his parents heard of this, they immediately tested out how his Gift works, narrowing down what it was and how he could use it. They discovered that as long as it could be interpreted as music, it could summon something. At the age of 17, he joined the Dimensional faction, as his power fell under said category. He split up his time commitments at that point, training some more useful skills in Derika, such as using his Gift to summon offensive occurrences quickly. Really new to fighting faction member by day, fancy musician by night.
Equipment: Clothing, dramatic walking cane which serves no purpose but fashion, and for playing 4 different notes by pressing buttons on the side of it. (Uses cane to summon more complex instruments for the job.)

Could you elaborate more on how a high density helps you break walls? Do you mean by hitting the wall while at a high density?
Weakness: when going fluid-ish if I spread to far apart as a puddle, or stretch to far at the rubbery density well...... (insert mental image here). It requires a lot of concentration, so distractions can revert me back to my original appearance. (which is why i carry a sword).The total amount of change done to my density/appearance effects how long the state can be held (the greater the change the length i can hold the state). Right now, the powers are weak and untrained.
Unfortunately, I do not have access to your mental image, so could you explain what happens when this occurs?
Also, the size of a puddle can vary greatly, so could we get an actual measurement?
Additionally, this is more of a limitation rather than a weakness.
Appearance: my influence over my density allows me to look however I want, although I usually stay around 5'4", blond hair, blue eyes. Likes wearing shorts & t-shirts no matter the weather

Explain how changing the density of yourself can alter your features for an extended period of time if the weakness states that the changes are only held for a period of time.
History: I was born in Texas, and lived with my grand parents because my parents had died in a "car wreck" when i was 3. At age 9 the ETG found me and took me away, their reason being "his lineage makes him dangerous". When i turned 12, i had found my power, and the ETG had told me about my past, and my ancestors. But the ETG did not know i had unlocked my power, I kept it secret. I had memorized the guard schedule, and when they became lazy, at the end of the 1 a.m. shift, I took the chance to escape. I hid in the woods, until 5 months ago when you found me and brought me to Derika. The seclusion in the woods didn't give me much practice, so my powers are untrained, and my focus terrible (and being ADHD doesn't help). So i request the help of one of your elders, your leaders, to train me.
ETG does not become lazy at guarding, but that's not to say you couldn't have escaped still. Also, explain how exactly you would have escaped using your Gift.
For the training, you would have most likely joined the Physical faction and received it.

Morgan's team still needs a Mental, and the tourny is in about a month. The time would be spent finalizing details with teams, getting to know them, and training. A little before a final roster would go out listing the official teams, as well as listings of all the other teams publicly.

From the look on Nariko's face while she spoke to Fabian, it seems like she didn't like him. No one seemed to like Fabian these days. Jake, on the other hand, was still staring at Fabian, while Vance sat awkwardly on the other side of the table watching the two. He takes a sip of his green tea before speaking.
"Well before you fall asleep... Our team has a sort of a situation. Apparently, William will no longer participate in our team, which means we'll have to find someone else if we're still going to do this tournament."
"I'm not quite sure how we fill in an empty slot, whether we can just grab someone we want and have them join the team, or if we have to contact the people running this and ask for a replacement once we tell them one of our members is unavailable."
Vance takes another sip and looks at the just updated roster, which caught his attention with a notification in his face.

Seconds later --

Wait what, Christophe? When did that get there? Who is that, why aren't there last names on these attached documents! How did they know William couldn't attend?
Vance taps into the bakery's WiFi signal and opens the official documents.
Oh, THAT Christophe... another ETG guy you've never met and read about through the ETG database.
"Any of you guys know a Christophe Alton? He's some ETG guy who's on our team apparently, no idea how they knew and swapped out William so fast."

Free food at the factions? Sweet.
As I get up, the rest of the people in the lounge turn to look at me. Even the cook looked out from the window leading into the kitchen to stare. I stood there in silence as the rather loud analog clock above me ticked away.
"I'm uhh... going out to the factions. Free food as stuff, ya know? Gotta meet my team and stuff."
I slid my away across the room and out the door, sweating as everyone watched me exit.
I could hear them speaking as I left.
"Why would he sign up, it's not like any of the loot he could win we couldn't raid anyways..."
"Yeah, the chances of him even winning are pretty slim."
"And that's exactly why I didn't join in."
A guard tosses you a bag, one you haven't seen in a while as you've been in jail for so long. You open it up and examine the contents. Your Z-Watch, a notebook, sunglasses, and a flashlight wrapped in bandages. Seems like they confiscated all of your knives. You power on the Z-Watch, and wait for all of the messages to flood in. Only one of them you really read, the tournament roster.

All strangers except for Cabar, which was you. An attached message at the bottom advertised a team building and cooperation event featuring free food by the factions. You slept away throughout the night and it was now morning, and you were hungry. To the factions, you decide after messaging the team.

As for how Jeff knew about Derika, keep in mind that he's toured the world several times - and had quite a few concerts in Brinkhaven. Now for how he figured out about his gift... you have a point. Still, I have no idea how I'd be able to do that - I mean, maybe he thought he was a prodigy. Maybe he spent most of his teenage years paying off the windows he shattered. I don't know.
He's toured the world, but how did he come to know of Derika in the first place to get Brinkhaven on his list of places to tour at? Derika's not exactly at the top of the lists at travel agencies and city listings.
