That could be a suggestion, but for now, you can turn down mob volume via the "Music and Sounds" menu.

This is actually a very good idea, because some survival players could want to get their head, but have a lot of levels so cannot do so. Upvoted.

It's tempting, but I just resist the urge by saving and quitting, or loading up a last save. If it helps you, copy your world file to a safe location before each time you log on, and if something bad happens during your playsession, you can always replace your failed world with the copy.

Necropost, I think. This thread is from 2012, and there have been numerous world generation updates (such as 1.7,1.8, etc.) so these seeds would not be the same as they were in 2012.

On the bright side, free obsidian! Try going back through the newly generated portal, to see if you come out in a different location. I despise the linking function of nether portals, so you may have to do a little shuffling around with all the portal paths.

So, in 1.16, you can't replenish air immediately, because.... realism, I guess? So, I'd recommend you take a few doors with you, if the ruined portal is a long journey underwater. Then, SWIM! you should be able to get some of your stuff on the magma current, but you'll have to replenish your air in the door after you get the stuff on the magma current. Then, swim upwards to get your stuff. You may take a few hearts of damage, but if you have a block of Soul Sand lying around, just place it and it'll boost you up. Very helpful.

Can you post another two screenshots, showing that it is indeed a LAN server and not a public server? (including singleplayer world file screenshot, where it lists your worlds)
One of the screenshots can be F3, and the other can be the singleplayer world list showing your world. Use F3 in spectator, and go to your deathpoint, please, so we can also see the damage.
