I hates the simple packs. :tongue.gif:

But it's good for a first pack, I love the armour icons btw. I'm more of a fan of realistic packs though, so i won't be using this :tongue.gif:

posted a message on [rule request] False FPS Claims
Hey everybody, I'm getting really fed up with something. That something is the amount of texture packs that claim to speed up your minecraft speed. As long as the resolution of the image is the same (16x16/32x32 etc.) the speed will remain constant. This is because all the pixels we see are loaded individually from the image onto the block texture. So this means for any texture pack that is 16x16, 256 individual pixels will load per block. It does not matter what color those pixels are.

All in all, if your texture pack is 16x16, it will not speed up FPS more than the default minecraft texture will. End of story.

Comment your feelings on this, (and add rep plz :biggrin.gif:)

Ice is the only texture to allow semi-transparency.

Hey i was gonna say that! lol.

Anyways, what you might want to consider doing is just darkening it instead of making it transparent as you said you did. Or lightening it. It'd create somewhat of the same effect.

posted a message on 32x32 & 64x64 Blank templates for Texture Pack

I'm so boggled by how to get just a "blank" template of a 32x32 or a 64x64 for my texture pack, For the 16x16 i would obviously use the original, default terrain.png. Does anyone have a blank 32x32 and or 64x64 template, or one from someones or your texture pack, without a signature? I just need one to use because I can't seem how to make my own in Gimp.

    -Thanks

On Paint.Net just select all set quality to pixellated with the blue arrow and then just drag the image to fit. Done.

I'm using Gimp, my first time using it, and its my first time using a image editor. Any gimp Tutorials?

Here's what I use: Paint.net. It's free, and it has great functionality just like most paid programs. If you want some tutorials on that I can give you some.

I still think this pack will be good if people start contributing, but I'm afraid I'm not good with 32x32. I'll bookmark this maybe and get it once its done.

Yea thanks, hopefully this'll get up and running and people will spread around and stuff... :tongue.gif: if anyone wants it to happen sooner they can use the banner

I'm sorry if this is rude, but the texture pack might not turn out so good, I mean its all different styles and themes, this'll be a big mish-mash of random textures that are good but too random.

Yea, i thought that too, which is why all the textures will be going through me. Hopefully I'll get enough that I can choose certain alike textures.

Heres what I do for all that's in grayscale: I draw it in color, and then I convert it to black and white using a filter/ adjustment (in most image editors there is one). This will make it appear how you want, and then slightly different as it's colored by misc/grasscolor.png

    hope i helped
