    I just hope the non-tree nodes don't get tainted while you do that. I barely saved the one near the plains scout point and one of the two on eerie island near the shores. Also, don't forget to hit the few silverwood trees in the silverwood forest and eerie island that have pure nodes but aren't next to a scout location. =)

    One more thing, are you interested in knowing any grammar errors I find in the quests?

    Tainted animals are created if a passive animal dies (either from the taint poisoning itself or any other means) while under the effects of taint poison (same applies to making a tainted player).

    the only issue I seem to be having with the modpack for the most part
    is when I use the Biome scanner on board the jaded, I think it has

    Best thing to do to help food variety is use raw meat, cooked meat, and dried meat. Don't forget there are several types of fish as well, and you can dry rotten flesh for food too. Until you manage to get a good supply of twelve types of food, cookies and melons are a good way to refresh your last twelve foods eaten, since you can make a whole bunch of them. Request seeds frequently to get some berry bushes and carrots, potatoes, etc. I keep my food in an extra satchel so I don't have to go back to my base as often. My personal food rotation in the later game includes cookies, melons, pumpkin pie, bread, steak, cooked chicken, cooked pork chops, and the four types of normal berries.

    Initially, there is some taint on the silverwood trees you find. It normally dies out before it can taint the wood on a silverwood tree with a pure node in it, but sometimes it doesn't. It's best to move taint off of any silverwood tree with a node in it that you find to avoid the risk. If one of the blocks adjacent to the pure node tree block got tainted, then the node stops converting to magical forest and becomes vulnerable. You can just take off another piece of silverwood and use it to cover the node if needed, though. Also, if one of the other parts of the tree gets tainted, while it will turn into goo, that goo can continue to taint and might eventually taint and crust up a block that's adjacent to the node. Even if the goo evaporates, the taint gas will still be under the leaves and may continue to taint the tree. It's best to either place a block where the goo/gas is, or use a shovel of the purifier if that happens. But again, just check the trees with nodes for taint when you come across them and you should be fine.

    Yes! Thank you! Unfortunately, it seems my suspicions were correct; there was no ore there. Thanks for helping me confirm this though.

    The book tells you. As you unlock exploration quests, it describes what ore spawns there. I had trouble finding infused ore in the vanilla forest, but was able to get some elsewhere. I forget exactly where. Try searching the thread to find out where they spawn.


    That. Isn't. The. Problem.


    1. None of the exploration quests tell me if there is infused ore there. It says if there's a "new ore" there, but nothing about infused. I've explored MANY caves and tunnels and dug several of my own in MANY MANY biomes and haven't found ANY.

    2. The issue is that I'm unsure if ANY were created or if they were all deleted the first time I loaded the map. I just need the coords of an infused ore to see if they're all gone. If they are, I have to start all over.

    you can make a single player map and set it to hardcore questing mode, or creative, or use NEI, the map, mods and reward bags still work the same. you can get every other nether creature via spawn eggs except ghast, also catching a ghast and using a mfr spawner system to get however many tears you need is much preferable than spending harder to get reputation and waiting on repeated cool downs to get tears one at a time.


    I've never used mob eggs anyway.


    Setting a map to creative doesn't work (it just switches to survival when the map loads), NEI is set to recipe mode and can't be switched, so I can't use that either.

    How'd you get to creative mode? Also, you can request ghast tears directly, so you don't need to spawn a ghast anyway. The mob spawn eggs are supposed to be to help you get cows, chickens, sheep, etc.

    Bit of an issue with me. I suspect many of the crystal clusters may not have been created when I loaded the map. Could someone give me the coordinates to an order cluster to confirm that they're all really gone? I'd rather be sure before starting all over.

    Our current issues revolve around trying to figure out what metals can actually be used to make Casts from the Smelter. I spent some time hunting for tutorials on how to use the smelter properly and several mention brass and aluminum mixtures to create casts... But none of the mixtures worked. Only Gold produced for the quest seems to allow us to make casts at all, which is a bit frustrating.


    Gold ore (or gravel gold) and a mixture of alluminum and copper (called alluminiumbrass or angmallen) can be used to make casts. Though all you needed to do is look at the recipe for a cast in NEI.

    When going to the swamp, all you really need is a boat and sprint to the water, ignoring any enemies along the way. The swamp makes a great base once you use the etherial blooms to clear the taint off of the island.

    It will finish starting up with the loading bar but the moment it does it sends me back to the technic launcher I checked the logs and it said something about a illegal action or something I think but anyways heres the link to it I think I have never used a hosting site before so soz if it no work

    I had a similar problem when trying to just load the thing. I changed from 32 bit java to 64 bit and allocated more ram to the launcher in the tekkit options. That solved the problem and made things less laggy.

    Chances are you're running java in the background. Close your web browser and/or use task manager and look in processes to see if java is running. Once it's gone, try installing again.
