My first uploaded screenshot. *proud face*
Sorry about the stone in the top-right corner, I was using a stone cave and lined the place with ice It also features snow flooring and then I made a waterfall at the end. Also I was having trouble with the lighting as it melted the ice so there are cracks near the glowstone, but that kinda adds effect. Ignore the glowstone. I just put it down randomly and made a quick dash to take the photo before everything melted. You would have problems if this was implemented (as I found out the hard way) with lighting becuase the ice would melt, revealing water to flood the place. And ores would have to be given an icy texture too because stone looks pretty weird with all that ice.
Hope you enjoyed, and just to clarify: this is just a quick scene I put together in twenty minutes, nothing too expert, so don't make any comments about the poor quality of it.

Aug 12, 2012Hi guys,Posted in: Seeds
I want to build a custom map and I need an island template. I have searched for survival islands but my results were only ready-made maps. I will give credit to the island designer and I would like it to be approx. 200x200, give or take 40 blocks.
Aug 5, 2012Nothing is rarer, or as rare as, obsidian and diamonds. I sighed when I saw the title (weapons and armour), but this could be used in decoration. Can someone think of an ore that isn't used for weapons and armour?Posted in: Suggestions
Aug 5, 2012Introducing... the Seasonal Biome!Posted in: Suggestions
This biome would be a dull grey island close to the spawn point for most of the year, then when a special event happens (Olympics, competitions, Christmas, Minecraft anniversaries, etc.) it would transform into a themed land with bright colours and somewhere hidden there would be an item for the player (1 per event).
Please tell me your thoughts, plus anything you would like to add, and don't forget to like the little button in the bottom-right corner if this was a good idea!
Aug 5, 2012Ever played in your world with a friend and collected a load of valuable items in a chest for your friend to just steal it all and use it to make something useless?Posted in: Suggestions
With locked doors you can prevent you friends from entering certain areas (unless, of course, they decide to break down the walls) and you can use locked chests to keep your valuable items and ores safe.
These locks can only be opened by you, however, you can have the option to make them available to others if you would like to.
Here is the crafting sequence:
Locked Chest (Iron represents lock)
Locked Door (Iron represents lock)
And the locked door could also be wooden.
If you have any more ideas, comment.

It's a nice idea, but I don't think quests would really fit well in minecraft. Also, I don't think the development team real like making players do chores, that's why the achievements aren't 'Chop 1000 trees' or something, so adding in fetch quests and such would go against that vision.
Perhaps adding in more achievements, particularly ones related to villagers, might be the way to go, instead of being assigned quests by them.
I disagree. I think this is a great idea, and they could range from building more houses for the NPCs to fighting in a zombie siege.

The easiest way to make a swimming pool is to plot it out in a one-block depth. Fill it in with water until it's still. Then mine out the depth. Water acts a little weird when you're trying to get it to be still in a more-than-one block depth. Kind of like when you build in the ocean and remove a block, it tries to fill in the space.
Alternatively, you can download Singleplayer Commands and use the //fixwater command.
Worked perfectly. Thank you, given you a reputation point!
Aug 5, 2012I'm glad they changed the texture of gravel to not look like stone or clay; it was a small but important improvement (the number of times I've accidentally mined gravel with a pickaxe), though the gravel now looks a little futuristic. When I first saw it I thought I was using one of those cool texture packs lol.Posted in: Recent Updates and Snapshots
Next on the texture list is clay.
Aug 5, 2012I like the idea, but what would they be used for? There's no point in an item in Minecraft that doesn't have at least one use, and ideally it should have two, three, maybe four.Posted in: Suggestions
Piranhas would have to do damage to the player, however, and if you spawn on an island then you're not going to be able to go anywhere near the water until you build a boat.
But yes, the squids must be lonely down there.
