My concern with guns and crossbows is that they take away from the challenge of combat. The bow already seems slightly overpowered already, given you can kill mobs while out of their sight range.

I wish Jeb would hurry up with modding API so those who want guns could download weapon mods like balkons or SDKs with ease.

    That's a pretty good point.

posted a message on sick of 1.8 noobs!
I've been playing since mid-beta (i think 1.5), and I partly agree with you, i've met a lot of people who say survival is too hard and tell me about how they made a really impressive oversized box with a bed in creative (i even met a so-called mc nerd who didn't know who Notch was), but they only just got the game, it is a learning experience, there's no tutorial so how else are they going to learn? You can't tell someone not to play or use the forums just because they found out about the game after you.
Besides, I have another complaint. Early alpha/indev players. I'm not talking about them as a whole, just the few people who never help newbies and act like they're Mojang's favoured and betas can't play at all. Sometimes i find these people even worse than noobs.
Now i'm not trying to start a flame-war, and i don't hate alphas, I'm just stating a fact.

    Quote from OpelSpeedster

That would make the game less realistic, thus giving me hate.
If a dream haves a challenge, it isn't a dream. It's a Nightmare. If you want a challenge, go to The Nether.

About the item to increase dream chance; i think that would be a cool idea, people use it if they want to dream. Maybe you could find it in dungeons.
As for aggressive mobs; maybe there's a 50/50 chance of it being a good dream or a nightmare. A nightmare could have lots of aggressive mobs and dangers, it would look similar to normal dreamworld except night and more horrific.

I think the reason people don't like the planar puncture is because it'd take away the need for obsidian, maybe when you make a portal one of these forms around it and corrupts the land, spreading on forever (unless you somehow stop it).
I'll try making some of these in creative.

They're a seperate entity because they are 2 seperate mobs.

All amazing ideas, the only one i don't really like is the portal, this would look really, cool but would take away the need for obsidian.
Otherwise, all great ideas. especially the fortress (it fits perfectly, everyone).

posted a message on HAPPY dimension
    Quote from Sebor13

I think that we need a dimension with some happier scenary (but no infinite diamonds or anything like that), I have an idea that might fit the bill. The Isles is an arctic sky dimension where almost everything is deadly but not dark and evil looking (link in my signature).

A nice 'looking' dimension could be cool, but it should be (very) sinister below the surface (metaphorical surface of course).

posted a message on minecraft for wii
The way Nintendo's consoles are going, they'd probably explode if you tried playing Minecraft on them. The Wii doesn't have nearly enough power to handle it. Plus the Wii will become obsolete next year with the WiiU, in fact it has practically always been obsolete. BTW DS probably couldn't handle Minecraft either (including 3DS).

posted a message on HAPPY dimension
I'm very surprised people are taking this seriously, this doesn't fit at all. If nothing wants to kill you and you can get infinite diamonds then what's the point of leaving? Every other Minecraft world is dangerous and out to kill you, a happy world would make it way to easy. If the game gets a heaven then it should be even more dangerous than hell. Most gamers idea of fun is battling mobs and protecting their bases, not playing cute, childish games, and it does sound very bland.
Also, if your so obsessed with My Little Pony that you think every game needs to have ponies then get a GODDAMN MOD! Don't just say if 'you don't like it, don't use it' as a new dimension would take a lot of Mojangs time they could be using on more important things.
    All-in-all; incredibly dumb idea.

posted a message on What does the ending really mean?
    Quote from Homem Pigman

It actually says real life is a dream too and "you are the universe". So yeah it's really cheap.

I'd rather have something different than some pseudo-philosophy. And a high school student could write something better than that.

High school students could easily come up with better, maybe even primary school students. University students created portal, so high school students could easily come up with a good story.

posted a message on Adventure or Building?
    Quote from gerhard2202

Not voting because I don't think they're mutually exclusive.

To me, creating fun, adventurous features that introduce new blocks and features to the game and a fun way to get them (such as a castle that has exclusively available blocks in it being one of the randomly generated things available, kind of like villages) seems the way to go. After you create these features, the new blocks you added will be available in creative for the builders.

That would seem like the way to go. Though we already have alot of building materials, so i think Jeb should expand on adventuring.
