Well it is true, better aesthetics = better game, but it doesn't have to have good graphics to be a good game.
Fixed it for you.

graphics did improve. Aesthetics however, did not imo. Most modern day games are a mix or brown, grey and black. Which i find a sad thing considering it makes them all look the same.
There are plenty of 'colourful' games. Scratch that, there are plenty of 'colourful' mainstream games, Halo, Gears of War, Uncharted, Assassin's Creed, etc.

Isn't it in your signature? That's the one I meant! I think it's the one I saw... with some cool structures.
Oh, I thought you were talking about one of my posts. Yeah, Kakarottoyo's suggestion would go well with this.

Yeah, what PatDay said makes a lot of sense. Basically he's applying a simple version of real life "terrain generation".
I made a poll some time ago if people would like climates to be a bit more sorted (http://www.minecraft...__fromsearch__1). The discussion about it got a bit weird, but I think it gave some insight what people like and dislike about changes regarding this....
Anyway, the reason why I mentioned this thread, is the following chart :
This was used in earlier versions of MC, but it lost relevance since roughly 1.8, and nicely shows what PatDay is talking about.
Using elevation as a overlay which is not dependant from the other two factors should produce terrain pretty much like 1.7/1.8, when it was on it's peak of beauty (right now it somewhat is dependant, which produces much less terrain features).
One thing I want to bring up is that it might still be wise to implement a "Shore" Biomes, to make transitions between ocean and land more awesome again ( think about the pretty big http://www.minecraft...0back%20beaches Bring back Beaches thread). For example if elevation transition from ocean to land is smooth, it could fill up sand, if it is medium it fills mostly dirt, and for really steep transition it uses stone. This way it should look a bit more natural, too.
That would work well here too.

^ This too, creepers should be able to 'creep crawl' too. Leave climb for spiders through, give skells something like sprint instead.
Quote from Alexanderjac
Nice idea. Each mob should have atleast one trait. I think Zombies should have the crawl though, because Creepers are already annoying enough
I think zombies should be able to crawl and climb 2 block high walls, ladders and fences, make them more dangerous. I'll make a list of my ideal skills.
Zombie- See above.
Skeleton- Should be able to sprint and climb fences, trees and ladders in an attempt to snipe you from above. They should be the closest thing you have to an equal in the overworld.
Spider- Should be able to climb almost anything and crawl through some gaps.
Creeper- Should be the 'saboteur' of mobs, attempts to squeeze through holes and let other mobs inside.
Enderman- Should be able to reach 5 blocks up given their long arms.
Slime- should climb like a spider, and squeeze through fences and iron bars.
Zombie pigman- Should climb after you if you attack them and crawl, they can do almost anything you can.
Magma cube- Should act like a slime, except it's jumping allows it grab ledges.
Villager- Can do everything you can.
Golems- Will climb 3 block high walls.
Wolves- Should climb 2 block high walls.
Ocelot- same as wolf.

The difference between the OP and the others is that he is right and that they are wrong.
Every time I see the sea level at 63, my mind fills with fury and my heart swells with sadness.
Like I said to the OP, explain your logic.

Graphics never matter, asthetics matter - that's always been the case, and always will be.
And no, asthetics is NOT a synonym for graphics - it means something entirely different.
Graphics are the quality of the textures (Minecraft's graphics are 16x16, which is pretty bad).
Aesthetics are the look and feel of the game world (Minecraft uses pixel art to complement the blocky feel, so it has good aesthetics).
There, hope everyone understands now.
Apr 7, 2012I agree, this would make the game all-round more interesting. Though there is one thing I'd like to add; certain mobs should be able to do certain things as well, zombies should climb low walls and crawl through tunnels to reach you like in most zombie games, skeletons should be able to climb walls to snipe you, etc.Posted in: Suggestions

I assume it was a Romulus (the werewolf thing),
Wait, what!? Romulus is the mythical founder of Rome from Roman mythology, the people in the lairs are worshippers, I don't know where you got the idea that they're werewolves and are called Romuluses.
As for your question I don't know.

will minecraft still be here in 2017 or 2019 ?? 2020 ?? also when will it be australia getting minecon.
next year (2013) cool stuff is coming to australia. even old stuff we already have but you should get minecon in australia when our new prime minister comes not the one we have now SHEESH she lies
It'll keep happening as long as people keep paying for it. I'm sure it'll come to Australia in the next couple of years, they have to visit every continent for it to be fair.
