Except by three you mean 50 so you can try and finish it and under an hour.

I find it odd that everyone is worrying 'bout spoilers.

Just pick the skylight you want and then watch the videos from the other 2 LPers, that's why Vechs gave us multiple starting paths.

A little late to the party, for uh... reasons... I had to stop lurking for a while.

How to unlock: Get 5 consecutive deaths due to stupidity (lava, void, or fall damage), you must have at least a full suit of iron and one enchanted (or diamond) gear for a death to count.

    Strength: 8
    Speed: 4
    Arebobics: 5
    Skill: 8
    Luck: 2
    Tunneling: 9

Passive ability: Absent Mind: Every 3 minutes you have a 30% chance to make an incredibly stupid mistake and devestating mistake, chances increased to 50% if near lava or the void.

Active ability: BERSERK RAGE: Active for 3 minutes, 10 minute cool down consumes 2 block of iron or a diamond: Creeper explosions deal 50% less damage, all other sources of damage are reduced by 25% luck and strength are increased to 15, speed, tunnel rat and acrobatics are reduced to 3.A little late to the party, for uh... reasons... I use the default controls, but my inventory is set to B (because that's what I got used to after playing "Classic" back in Alpha). I use the scroll wheel because I'm always worried that I'll hit the wrong number and accidentally, oh I don't know, cover myself in lava while trying to eat DA MUSHROOM SOUP, DAMMIT! Also, my hotbar is usually set up in this order: Lighting, pick, sword, shovel, bow, blocks, food, anything else (potions, etc.) This setup works for me because lighting is usually my first priority. Yeah. Indeed.

    Quote from StratMaster007

I do: Sword, light source, pick, block, food, shovel, misc(usually potion), misc(usually potion), bow. I usually run around with the sword out, easy switching to a light when I need to, or a bow when I need to. I rarely use the scroll wheel(too GLITCHY), I just use the 1-9 keys.

I use Bow, Sword, Torch, Pick, Shovel/misc, Misc/food, Lava Bucket/misc, Water Bucket/misc, gravel/sand, solid block.

I change the misc slots depending on what i am doing, whether building or fighting or mining.

My misc slots are normally enderpearls, potions, more blocks or... well anything really.

I have it this way because i want my weapons the easiest to get to in case, then i have it to where i can switch from my pick to my sword easy and switch to sword or pick to torch easy (for caving/fighting or mining). blocks are easy to get to from sword and fairly easy to get to from pick.

Hm, a general question to everyone - how do you play these maps, control wise? Do you have some sort of fancy mouse or have your keyboard set up to take advantage of hotkeys, or do you just use the scroll wheel on your mouse to select tools on your hotbar?

I personally just use the scroll wheel, but I also have my controls set up focused around the arrow keys for movement (right control is jump, right shift is sneak, etc), so I can't really use number hotkeys due to that, either.

I have my Logitech g700 gaming mouse. I have set up marcos to switch to torch and place one super fast and then switch back to pick/sword. Another marco to switch to sword and then double tap foward and hit really fast (to send a suprise mob flying). I have my fourth key set to open my invetory.
Mostly i use the mouse for the DPI change which is useful when sniping mobs from afar or exploring or building or fighting.

As for my fancy keyboard? I dont really use the marcos at all, i just enjoy the feel of a mechanical keyboard.

Fallen Kingdom will be fairly pointless without hardcore mode. I'm really focusing on managing hunger as a gameplay element as you explore and scavenge in the city.

If Hardcore is too stressful, I might recommend doing a session-backup system. Every time you get done playing, zip up your save game folder. If you die, restore the map from the zip.

You still want to avoid death at all costs, but instead of losing the save file, you lose your progress since your last play session. This is what I did with Unreal World.

I like the concept of Hardcore but i rarely ever play things in it (Cue me using NBT edit to turn hardcore off). In fact i normally play in a hardcore like mindset and in most of the super hostile maps I have beat I can count the number of times i have died on my fingers. However about 80% of the times I do die its due to stupid mistakes like opening my inventory while I am crouching over lava.

I think i will see if one of my more code savy friends can figure out a way to write a script to make a backup every 2 hours or so.

Okay so while playing lethymer and branch minning i ended up with nearly a thousand coal and only 5 diamonds. So having a surpless of coal and a shortage of well, everything 'cept cobble i decided i would try to find some mods (Dont hate me okay i dont really caterguise lethymer as a normal super hostile map, i have beat 9 of them legit with no mods other then optifine) that would convert coal to diamond, i found the Technic Pack. After installing and moving all my texture packs and maps to the . Technic file i load up lethymer... and it genrates a new world with all the Technic Pack stuff.

Any way to use techic pack on lethymer!

So i just played this with my freind.
Something in the first area, i came up with the geunis idea of digging down through the cobble walls and into the wiring, this let me just go under the bottom of area and destroy the wirring and then i dig up through the wall at the very end earning me a easy victory. You should add something in the rules that your not aloud to go into the wirring (or mabey like 8 blocks down have 2 layers of just lava so that if they tunnel down there then they BURN)

I just went to the Nether (I built the portal where all the obsidian is located), saw nothing of interest and decided to go right back to the overworld, when I got back I had spawned in the air far from the actual map... I guess Minecraft must be trolling me... :SSSS: It does not matter that much though because I was already bored. I was not bored because of the map it was because veteran players like me (I have been playing for roughly a year) can easily get bored playing the game vanilla-style.

LOL yah vanilla style is to easy/boring, globule is pretty interesting. Though, i would like a more super-hostile style difficulty though, like resource deprivement but each globule is a dungeon and once you conquare it there is tons of trees or iron or whatever that is fainly made available
