    New cobblestone is done!

I went with something a bit more basic than usual since it's a staple building texture, especially in the victorian era.

The walls use natural rocks with mortar, and the ground uses a circular pattern.

Every single rock is shaded by hand, and since it uses repeat ctm, it took forever.

I need to decide which one might be worth entering.

Okay but is ther a certian language I need to set it to? Because I'm not seeing any changes.

    It only works with English.

Ah, that's just a bit i forgot to remove back from when i was redoing the thread.

I had the icon ready to go for the language pack, but was still tweaking it a bit. I forgot to remove that part when i actually added the link.

The language pack is downloadable and does work. I'd say it's still a bit of a WIP since i want to change a few things, but it's definately very usable and most of the things i planned to change are already changed. I might just change some miscellanious working in the future though.

Certainly. They very definitely can. And you can make airships with them too!
This looks DAMNED fine. How do you not get paid $80k/y for graphic design.

I get paid minimum wage for scooping ice cream instead XD

But as slow as i texture, i probably couldn't do it for a job. There are times when i spend hours on a single 64x texture.

No offense, but can't you do something.... a little less boring?

I mean, your pack is really over-the-top stylized with wacky ideas, and random oddities, and the best you've come up with is puzzle-piece rocks?

I kinda think you should make a sort of makeshift trash-wall with glue-mortar. I mean, it's closer to the idea of cobblestone than what you're making (you've got no mortar, so either those are processed stones like mosaic or it's cracks like over-dried mud).

(I apologize if you have something like this already in your pack, but here goes) So think of this: the wall is basically a glue/epoxy cube, with random things strewn about. rocks, rebar, metal meshes, skulls, CRT monitors, planks, safes, fridges, cinder blocks, trash cans, and most notably the buckets of glue/epoxy that was used to make the wall. You can see the depth of the dried glue/epoxy material by the items haphazardly contained within it, which reflect light back from within in a milky fashion.

That sounds rediculously hard to make. Anyway, i do have a few things kind of like that...

Birch leaves are a pile of paper:

And soul sand is actually assorted medical waste. Organs, bones, syringes, and such.

Anyway, there will be mortar when i'm done. I feel like a steampunk pack needs proper cobblestone though. It's a staple of victorian archetecture. Not every texture can be over the top, there needs to be some contrast.

The pack is absolutely amazing so far!
    Completely and wonderfully unique!
    Only two complaints:
For some reason, the flame effect on the Ender Dragon is blue and white and the end and orangey at the base...how does it get hotter further away from the heat source?
Also, I can't seem to get the pack working at the moment...I think there might be something with the zip file. Oh well, these things are trivial compared to the overall quality of the pack!

If you need any help on the language pack, let me know-I've created a couple of them before, and just finished making one for my personal 1.7 Last Days resource pack.

Keep up the great work! :D

Well obviously enderdragon fire doesn't work the same way as normal fire for... reasons. Good, logical reasons.

Though i do have a language pack already, check the addons section.

Have you tried re-downloading the pack? That might help.

    Anyway...

I've started working on the cobblestone wall texture... here's a WIP of the shading/design.

Yeah that cobble is a bit pointy. It also has a bit of a pattern error in the form of a line...

the coloring is forming strips. faint, but it's there.

I see what you mean, but keep in mind this is repeat ctm, so will it really be noticeable through normal use?

Those are FINE cobbles. I love 'em.

Also, quick question. Now that it's been revealed slime blocks are sticky too, how does this affect your plans to make them accordions?

Bellows, actually. And uh... bellows can be sticky, right? ...right?

The ground pattern is certainly very interesting and I love it. :)
For the walls what I would personally like the most is probably a simple actual cobblestone wall like this:

Alligned yet irregular and with cracks. :)

    Yeah, that might work!

But what if i draw some plastic lego gears on it? You know, so it's steampunk...

Anyway, here's a tiled preview of the cobblestone floor:

I've started on a new cobblestone texture.

This will be the pattern for the top of the block, AKA the ground/floor.

It's 128x128 repeat ctm. The image here shows it tiled to... uh... no specific multiple of itself, really.

This is of course not the finished texture, just showing what the rock placement will be like. I'll be reusing the textures from regular stone plus the three new varients for the actual rocks, to give it some variation in color and make it fit in with any of the stone types for building purposes.

    Like it?

Also, i could use some ideas for the wall portion of the cobblestone. I can't really think of any actual victorian or ornate looking cobblestone wall patterns... If anyone has any suggestions, i'd like to hear them. I was thinking maybe of doing some kind of rock mosaic, though maybe a more even pattern would actually be better...
