posted a message on "Skipping Structure with id ..." server console spam

    Hello,

I'm running a 1.7.10 Forge/Spigot (Thermos) server that had Realistic Terrain Generation (RTG) installed. After one of the map resets we've ceased to use RTG's world type and soon (though after the world has first generated) completely removed RTG from the server. However, the "Skipping Structure with id rtg_MapGenScatteredFeatureRTG" message started spamming the console every time someone generated a new chunk, which very soon became annoying.

Although I know that this issue has been addressed several times it has never received a proper answer. In most cases people got told to reset the map, but this sure isn't the only way to fix this issue. To my best understanding, the problem lies somewhere in the NBT files, where a list of enabled structures seems to be kept. The proper way to get rid of the spam would be to delete the mention of this structure from all appropriate files. I've checked all files that I thought could be relevant to this issue (such as level.dat) but found nothing. Obviously, if Forge still "remembers" RTG, it must be mentioned somewhere, right? Where should I look?

    Thank you in advance,

    OLEGSHA

posted a message on Host several servers on the same port and different DNS addresses [Solved]

Thank you, Icswolf. With your help, I was able to find this post on the forum.

As for others, here's a summary: using DNS record SRV, one is able to redirect the port that Minecraft attempts to connect to. In my case, I would add _minecraft._tcp.b.com SRV record to redirect connecting clients from b.com:25565 to a.com:25564. This only works with Minecraft 1.3 and newer, however.

posted a message on Host several servers on the same port and different DNS addresses [Solved]

    Hello,

I'm pretty sure this question has been awnsered somewhere, but I can't seem to find it, probably because I'm new to Minecraft hosting and don't know the proper terms for what I'd like to do (virtual hosting?). As such, I'd be happy to hear the proper wording for my question so I can do further research on my own.

I have a computer that I plan to use to host servers for me and my friends. One would usually specifiy the address of a server like IP:port, unless the server is running on port 25565; then the port can be omitted, making the address clean and tidy. However, obvoiusly, I cannot have more than one server listening on the same port on the same address. So I've thought to use the following trick: I've bought two domain names, say, a.com and b.com, and plan to have two servers listening on the same port, but only accessable by one address. So server #1 can be accessed by a.com(:25565), an server #2 by b.com(:25565).

That is where I'm having trouble: how do I tell the servers to only listen on one domain name?

I've tried to use "server-ip" setting in server.properties file, but it doesn't work at all: not one server is able to start if server-ip is modified (to, say, a.com). Important note: I have a router between the server and WAN (it does redirect ports properly).

In summary, I'd like to host two servers on the same machine on the same port but accessable by different domain names. How is that called? Is that possible? How would I do it?

Thank you in advance. All help is appreciated.

posted a message on A mod / Cauldron-compatible plugin to place player statues

    Hello,

I am a 1.7.10 Cauldron server admin. On my server, I want to have "statues" of server owners, moderators, etc. in their real size (not block structures); something like what Citizens plugin or Custom NPCs mod can do. However, Citizens plugin (and basicly any plugin trying to do that) requires a specific implementation of Bukkit API that my Cauldron server cannot provide while Custom NPCs mod does not provide a way to add player skins that would dynamically load from the skin server and update.

Can anyone recommend a plugin or a mod that is able to make such player statues? This seems like quite an easy mod to make, I'd be surprized to find out that nobody has ever done it.

    Thank you.

    Quote from danners68

if you changed the ID's Client side they need to be replicated on the server, alternatively you could copy the server configs to your client(s)

Well, I didn't change anything. Anyways, thanks, I'll try to copy config. Maybe the problem's in Forge changing IDs or something...

The mod's cool, but for some reason it doesn't work on my MCPC+ server. When connecting it says IDs like 7787 are missing, but they don't even exist in Railcraft, right? I'm using MC 1.6.2, MCPC+ R0.2 forge 836 B56, RailCraft 7.3.0.10.
P.S. I was just copying my "mods" folder from my .minecraft to server "mods" folder, double-checked.
